Ahh that would explain it, thanks for the explaination.MagmaMan said:They are remaking Red Dawn, a movie that I believe Homefront was heavily inspired by.Blazing Steel said:Homefront the movie? Cause that's all I'm getting from the trailer. Well that and explosions...
Yeah no they still have gunships, armored vehicles, military training and all that jazz going for them. Would make it more costly though, that's probably true.newwiseman said:A Red Dawn remake with communist Chinese in place of communist Russians. The whole idea is a joke. I'm pretty sure were an invasion to ever happen the number of armed civilians in the north west alone would ruin their plans. (and yes, I need full auto for duck hunting)

amirite?
Naa, full-auto is a waste of ammo (except for very limited defensive situations). Explosives, yes, we need those for "Duck Hunting". Tactical Nukes (small warhead designed for tanks and small buildings), yes, Those ducks are tricky.newwiseman said:A Red Dawn remake with communist Chinese in place of communist Russians. Which, if recent history is to be believed, is not that much of an advantage. Just look at guerrilla warfare. A handful of dedicated citizens can make all the difference, no matter what their equipment is. A bullet from an AK-47 will kill someone just as much a bullet from an M4 carbine.Cowabungaa said:Yeah no they still have gunships, armored vehicles, military training and all that jazz going for them.
It kind of easy to do when the guy who wrote the script for Homefront ALSO MADE RED DAWN! I mean, that was one of its selling points for crying out loud.MagmaMan said:They are remaking Red Dawn, a movie that I believe Homefront was heavily inspired by.Blazing Steel said:Homefront the movie? Guerrilla warfare is dependent on the invading force being determined to occupy or control the invaded territory.Farther than stars said:Which, if recent history is to be believed, is not that much of an advantage. And what happens when you turn that handful of AK-wielding guerrilla fighters into an entire population? The Middle East is a great example of that. NATO hasn't been able to smoke out a group of ragtag Taliban who live in caves. And not a fortnight ago, Syrian insurgents seized the city of Aleppo, despite the military regime sending in the attack helicopters to stop them.
I don't believe there's a more powerful weapon than human determination. Couple that with a war fought on home turf and the enemy will never win based solely on the superiority of their armory.
