Moving the New 360 Can Damage Disks

Once, when poeple were smarter, they realised that moving machinery when it was working, was probably not a good idea. These smarter people took responsibility for their mistakes as well, and didn't try to force others to somehow make up for their stupidity.

So, when a device designed not to be moved is moved, and inside there is a plastic disc spinning at very high revolutions, and around that disc are several sharp and possibly moving parts, smack yourself in the face because you failed at understanding physics that even even Wiley Coyote could teach!

I guess that is why plastic bags have to have 'this is not a toy' and 'suffocation risk' written on them, because stupid poeple have more children.

Wow, it's almost like moving a sensitive piece of electronics that has a thin piece of plastic spinning at thousands of RPM is a bad idea or something...
Thank you Mr. Funk for that brilliant yet true dose of sarcasm *totally serious*

Ehh, I'm not surprised here, as that happens with the original Xbox 360 if you move it while its playing as well. Should be common sense not to try and pick up a console while its running, however...

Well Microsoft proves, yet again, that they can't build a decent console. I mean, really?
Christ. It's one design flaw. You're making it out like the PS3 has noooo problems whatsoever.

Ah, so now the red rings are on the inside and touted as a feature. Sharp move Micro$oft.
Nice. Bait the fanboys. I thought you were meant to be a man or reasonable sense? You seem more childish to me right now.

Some things just never change. New slim design, same old problems. That's the story of the Xbox 360. It's a great console with far too many bugs.

Why would you ever need/want to move the xbox from horizontal to vertical or vice versa while its running anyway? Cant that sort of thing wait until your done playing?

I really don't care, why is the slim 360 getting all this hate? Even if it was EXACTLY THE SAME QUALITY AS THE NORMAL 360 (which it's not) it comes with a 250gig hard drive, AND built in wireless for the old price!

It's really sad that instead of people being happy with what is basically at least a $150 price drop, all they can say is "That's it!?"

As for me, I'm content with getting a much sexier 360 with $200 of extra stuff included for the same price.

Simple, remove the disk before moving, or wait about a minute or so after shutting it off.

If you can't follow these simple instructions, your fucking retarded. Good thing I know you escapees are intelligent...right?

Edit: This has ALWAYS been a feature for the XBox. Makes me laugh how people are acting like it's a new big deal.
People are just pissed that this new Xbox 360 isn't more than just a cooler looking xbox with $200 of extra stuff for the same price as before.

Frankly I agree, I always get really pissed when a company starts including $200 worth of extras for free without also fixing everything and adding the capability of having it wipe your ass for you, HOW DARE THEY ONLY INCLUDE $200 WORTH OF EXTRA STUFF FOR FREE WITHOUT DOING MORE!?

So you mean, EXACTLY LIKE THE ORIGINAL?

I mean, seriously, am I the only one whose careful with their electronics anymore?
No you are not. I treat my PS3 more carefully than I treat myself. No harm will EVER come to it.

And in those same ads what you don't see is someone dropkicking it while it is vertical and reading a disc. What you do see is them on a nice flat STABLE surface like they should be if you are going to have it vertical. Consumer stupidity is not a design flaw.

i would say more people have thier console horizantal becuase that is the smarter way to have it, if you put it vertical then it should be in a place protected by something or up where nobody but another human being can get it(yes that could be hard if you have a cat) but what i am saying is, it is no design flaw that this happens and anyone who puts their console up verticly and accidentaly knocks it over and screws up their disk, then procedes to complain about when it is not microsofts fault. putting your console up verticly and knocking it over or moving it while it is on and a dick is in there is putting the disk on death row.... this happens for ALL consoles if they are put up verticly.

EDIT:i have been in that situation, i have acidentaly knocked my xbox over while it was playing CoD: WAW and the dick was screwed up, i didin't complain to mircrosoft becuase i knew it was my own damn fault.
We all agree it shouldn't tip during normal operation. I see an anti-scratch mechanism similar to how I see seatbelts in a car. In normal operation, it's not needed, but the company knows there's a reasonable chance an accident could occur & the feature would be quite handy. Granted, a scratched disc isn't life threatening, but they both help minimize damage in the event of an accident.

Squid, I agree consumer stupidity is not a design flaw. I'm not talking about the extreme drop kick scenario you are, or even the "I'm curious about something so I'll move my console to look" scenario. I'm saying MS should design a product that can withstand normal events of a living room. That includes being around pets & children that might knock things over.

This is something that's not black and white. If either of you still disagree with me, that's fine. I've explained my thoughts on it. You've explained yours. I've said my peace.

This is an annoying problem in which I don't see why microsoft can't fix, seeing as how every other consol has. But really, I'm not going to be moving my consol very fast, or let alone moving it while it's playing.
