Ok... this series is going to make more money than several African nations as it is. Gotta ask, who even cares about the Metacritic scores?
But this didn't come from Activision. This came from one of the groups of developers that worked their asses off and didn't see their families for months in order to get this game on the shelves on time. It's not about money.AnotherAvatar said:I guess it's not enough to sit on a big pile of cash if people are saying your game sucks. God that's PATHETIC, seriously.

LOL. Seconded!sravankb said:I find it funny how there were several topics claiming that 10/10 is a bullshit score, and yet someone posting a 0/10 "review" is just "expressing his opinion".

If a person genuinely doesn't like an aspect of the game/graphics/mechanics/audio/physics/whatever, then fine; leave an honest review. But to just shit all over lots of people's very hard work and late nights anonymously is a spineless, idiotic, totally dickish thing to do.
Modern Warfare 3 is a good game. Is it a 10/10? No. But it looks good, sounds good, the frame rate is great, and it's a blast (pun intended) to play.
I disagree. Having your work criticized for geniuine reasons is one thing. Having your hard work rated as worthless (because that's what 0/10 means) is downright insulting. Schofield is studio head at Sledgehammer, and I imagine what prompted the tweet was a lot of very upset and unhappy people in his studio who are probably exhausted, and a bit sensitive about this right now. As you would also be if you'd just worked your ass off - you'd want some recognition of a job well done, rather than a bunch of morons giving you 0/10 purely because some idiot on a forum told them to. It's not pathetic to care about your work... it's pathetic to not care.AnotherAvatar said:DiamanteGeeza said:But this didn't come from Activision. See, but it's pathetic for any sort of artist to care so much about blatant trolling. That's my problem.
Also, so it's not about money, it's about fame and having people tell you that your mediocre game is awesome because their your fans. Still pathetic as well. My thing is the game is already going down in history for selling better than the bible (while being THROUGHLY mediocre according to everyone I've spoken to), so why does this douche also need a high Metacritic score from specifically the fans (as the review scores have been paid off to look like the game shits gold)? The only reasonable answer is not enough love from his mother as a child.
Treyarch sucks dick, and always will. CoD died with MW2, not that I was a big fan, just pointing out the writing on the wall.
How about this, the COD series has a sh*tty single player run through and I'll be damned if I'm going to let that pass. The COD series SUCKS because they half ass the single player. Happy? I'm not, and you know why? Because I bought a video game thinking I could play SINGLE PLAYER. Geez what a concept!hazabaza1 said:Better for people who have actually played the game and thought it was good to say it's good rather than a bunch of idiots going "HURR DURR IT'S COD IT SUCKS DURR"

TLR COD sucks for its single player and deserves the hate it gets for it.
I'm pretty sure one of George Carlin's sayings applies here...Catalyst6 said:He was asking them to be honest. Yeah, he was hoping that honesty would be a high score, but still. If anything I'd have to question the "honesty" of the people giving the game a 1/10, because I'm fairly sure I played it without losing any major organs, which puts it at least at a 2.
I did buy it b/c I was told it had decent single player....and it sucked. Multiplayer is good though, but that doesn't excuse the single playerhazabaza1 said:If you've bought and played the game then that's fine.Volf99 said:How about this, the COD series has a sh*tty single player run through and I'll be damned if I'm going to let that pass. If you haven't bought the game and are one of those idiots going "GWAAARGGH IT'S A CALL OF DUTY GAME THEREFORE IT MUST SUCK" then fuck you.

But is Sledgehammer really making a boatload of money from MW3 or is Activision. I'm curious to know if the payment of royalties are dependent on a Metacritic score.Greg Tito said:While there's nothing inherently wrong with rallying your fans using social media tools like Twitter - indie developers do it all the time and they are called being marketing savvy - I think the problem with Schofield's action is the timing and the fact that MW3 is the big target in gaming right now. It's generally not a wise thing to call for more support when you are making a boatload of cash.
$60 map pack with:DTWolfwood said:8.9/10 to 3.2/10 which averages to a 6.1/10. yeah thats about right for this $60 map-pack.
A fan making a post on some forums saying "Hey let's fight the metacritic trolls!" just looks like someone wanting to fight for something they love. A developer telling us all to go review his game because he feels the score is "suspiciously low" just looks like someone padding his own ego.RandV80 said:Yeah no problem here. Getting you're developers to add a bunch of 10/10 scores is scummy, asking your fans to go give it an honest review is perfectly fine.
