My first shiny!

I've had a few down the years, the ones I remember are Machop and Geodude.

Also saw Wally get a shiny Ralts during a Pokemon speedrunner's stream. Unfortunately it was only shiny for that first encounter, since all the other battles are "scripted"

Anyway as far as catching a shiney goes I've only ever seen one and IIRC* it was either a chansey or tauros in the safari zone which instantly split on its first turn, so yea that sucked.

*it was a while ago so all I remember is looking up the odds and finding out that i was one lucky mutha' fucka'.

Been playing since Gen 1 was released in the US and the only legit Shinies I have caught were a (get this!) a Foongus in White 1 and an Amoongus in White 2. Yeah, same evo-line, two different games, two different areas. Guess I can't complain.

The daughter, however, has seen/caught a shiny in every game since Leaf Green.

Willing to swap friend codes with anyone that needs as well.

About a month ago I just ran across this shiny spheal when looking for one to put in my main team. It's pink and perhaps the only shiny I ever encountered but it's mine and that makes it special.

Let see-

Not one but TWO Tentacool in Ruby (by all means it wasn't one after the other, more like a month or so after I caught the first one). I raised the first one to be team worthy while I kept the other one in its prime (never touch it after I caught it).

Bidoof in Diamond (And the OP think he had it bad with a shiny Voltorb).


Also I could of gotten a shiny Slugma in the Start Mountain in Diamond too but the stupid NPC fainted it before I caught it. I was enrage further that I came to learn you can directly attacked your partner Pokemon after that (I did however keep doing that to the NPC Pokemon later on as my attempt of revenge).

I've gotten a shiny Fearow, Drowsy (by far my favorite), and Sentret.

The only one I cared for was the Drowsy.

There we go, formalities out of the way, now to get to bragging! I've ended up getting 2 shinies over my time. One was a black Zubat in Ruby - I've deleted that data since, unfortunately, but still.

Second one has a funny story behind it - I was playing Pokemon Black in a local nerd convention in my Uni, and someone spotted it and started talking. And the topic went to shinies, and then my pokemon, one of which was a Tranquil. And he was talking about how it isn't so good, and I was like "I guess, but it flies, so hey."

I walk off into the grass to train right after this conversation, and I swear down:
The VERY FIRST ENCOUNTER was a Tranquil.

TRANQUIL.

Fucking seriously, that is coincidence of the bloody century, and I made sure the entire place - this 50 meter long hall of nerds, mind - knew it, 12 times over. I mean, DAYM.

Swablu, which evolved into Altaria
Magikarp, found him while going around the scripted shiny Gyarados
Roselia, which I evolved into Roserade
Liepard, while Audino leveling in White 1

And the scripted/earned ones:

Gible
Haxorus
Gyarados

But the only one I ever caught was a Cottonee, good thing Whimsicott is my absolute favourite 5th gen.

Shiny Pineco and Stantler, both in D/P and both within a few months of each other... and i've played a game from every generation, also on and off.

Got's me a sweet golden Forretress and an ugly green stantler.

Ah pokemon. How that game is encased in concrete when it comes to innovation, but still manages to stay alive is incredible. I guess the whole pokemon franchise is giving it a free ride.

I found a shiny wooper in diamond but then i decided to use explosion.Shame not that bad of a pokemon but i already had a ground and water type.

My first shiny was a Spinda I caught in Ruby, but I traded it away via internet for an equally shiny Vileplume in Pearl. I also have a shiny Persian that I traded for, also online, without realizing it was shiny until later because it looks really similar to the regular colours.

I collected the cards when I was young.

Pride of my collection was a shiny Blastoise. It was stolen form me by the kids over the field when I was, like, 11. The Pricks.

Last christmas, my parents bought me a framed shiny Blastoise.

My brother encountered a shiny geodude....and knocked it out. 3 steps later he encountered it AGAIN and proceeded to knock it out again. As for me....i dont remember what my first shiny was.

I stopped playing Pokemon after being utterly disappointed by Gen 4, only picking up HeartGold due to nostalgia (Gen 2 is my favorite by far).
The only shiny that I've ever even encountered is the scripted red Gyarados in Gen 2. Not one shiny in any random encounters.

My first one was a shiny whismer in Sapphire, but shortly after that I got Ruby from my friend, started a new game and was fishing for a female torchic, but got a shiny one instead. Shiny Blaziken is awesome.

I've had more than my share of shinies over the years, but to be honest I've played far more then my fair share of pokemon so yeah.

Caterpie, Ditto, litwick, axew, beldum, Foonguss, Cyndaquil, about 20 gyarados of course.

My shiny Metagross is one of my favourite pokés ever.
