They'll have to improve the combat by a lot for it to work in online play.

I Haven't played number 2 yet (fricking PC delays) But this still made me nerd-gasum. AC is amazing, with coop it would be stellar.

You could easily pull off capture the flag and search and destroy types of games. Street race's and competitions to see who can assassinate the target first would also work quite well, but i don't think death matches or team death matches will be making an appearance
Hmm true... I mean the first game had a basic idea of flag hunting. Just plonk that into an online multiplayer setup and you're done, right?

GOOD! I was worried about the next AC because at the point where the hidden blade begomes inferior technology would cause either a huge dismemberment of the gameplay or plot inconsistency. The Renaissance was a great time period and Ezio was a good character. Plus AC multiplayer would be fun as hell.

I'm interested in seeing how this will work out. I won't even try imagining how it'll work - I'm just going to wait for more information.

Hopefully Assassin's Creed 2 will feature...The Bear Jew.

Why, do we need Multiplayer?

Why? You don't even need it, give me a Hidden blade and a white hood, I'm golden.

More Ezzio, less Desmond please.

Multiplayer? Can't see that being any good.

Why can't there just be sngle player games any more?

how does multiplayer work in a game about assassinations? Will you just play minigames with the other players?or will there be a co-op play?
That has me puzzled aswell, I have to admit.
Ever played Team Fortress "Defend the Civilian"?

Also we're assuming it's competitive and not co-op.

Hmmm, I'm interested in what they possibly could do for the Online Multiplayer. The combat dosen't seem like it would fit very well in Online. All though they could do something like Splinter Cell in which you have two assassins working to one target.

I bet it's going to be a largely multiplayer game. AC 2 was Altair's single player story. We don't need another one. I'm guessing it will be a short story like Bloodlines was for Altair. Hopefully it will be better; I didn't get Bloodlines, but the reviews were bad.

Kick-ass. It would be pretty lame if your assassination goes belly up if your co op partner kills the wrong guy or alerts the guards hang on... griefing engine?

Worst idea since making a game with a unbalanced multiplayer glad that didn't happen?

If in any future asscreed title you play in the animus fighting other animus users, I owe my friend 20 bucks. I hope this online multiplayer is not that.

As long as they do it in the style of Splinter Cell's Mercs vs. Spies mode, cool. But other than that, I can imagine a plot for that game.

Basically it takes place between the second and (inevitable) third game. Desmond finds a memory where Ezio apparently teams up with a fellow assassin. The Animus malfunctions and they have to find the descendant of that Assassin. They find him, and strap him to the animus along with Desmond.

I got it on Day 1 (I have the game on the PS3, you see). I actually like it. It's basically a stripped down version of the first game. My complaints are towards the camera and difficulty curve of the game. That and Altair's voice actor's radically different.

I know alot of people think how the hell could multiplayer work but I've imagined a game mode called VIP to be pretty cool.

In other words:
1 player or VIP and maybe 8+ players playing soldiers who must defend the VIP from other Assassins that consit of maybe 4-5 players or something.
Bit like GTA IV's multiplayer mode.

Just a thought though.
Considering Assassin's Creed II's open world is radically different from that of GTA IV, how will they manage the maps and in-game geometry? They really need to scale it down big time, let alone have enough for multiple players.

Ezio again? .... no thanks i thought Altair was cooler
Apart from that fat American accent he sports while strolling through the medieval Holy Land.
