It says 3015, so the Clans aren't even known about yet. But The Wolf Dragoons are about being 'merceneries' although they didn't pack any of the latest Clan Mechs at the time, so no Timberwolfs, Mad Dogs or Dire Wolfs, which is probably just as well for the sake of game balance.Khell_Sennet said:Timberwolf is a Clan mech, but depending on the era of the game, there are plenty of them in Inner Sphere hands due to battle salvage. Also, Clan Wolf-in-Exile, single largest user of Timberwolf mechs, is on the IS side. Though not knowing the factions, plot, or era, can't say what to expect.
Hey, I'm satisfied. It's on the PC.Danny Ocean said:Aren't Atlases the biggest and most heavily armed mechs there are? Surely that would be pretty terrifying for lil'ol medium mech there?Zeithri said:Impressive.
I'm dissapointed EVEN BEFORE the game is released.
Atlas is not difficult to defeat. It is not a terror to behold.
He was getting peppered with fire beforehand anyway, as you'll see when he misses, and when the camera moves out of first person to look at the protagonist mech.Getting hit by that many rockets ingame, will not instantly KO you (unless they are changing it for this game).
Uh...huh...And finally, the pilot was to passive & defensive.
If you go back far enough, everything has been done before. It doesn't make the ending any less awesome.Another thing about the trailer... Is it just me or isn't that ending a bit of a cliché?

Man, why is everyone so negative all the time?
They said the dragoons could make an apperence, but in 3015, they were supposed to be in the service of house marik, soo... :xfix-the-spade said:It says 3015, so the Clans aren't even known about yet. Of course they could just hit the Atomic Ret-con button and have the Clans march in with their chicken legged instruments of death anyway. Fan service and all that.

It's taking place during one of the border disputes between FedSun and the combine. 8)Khell_Sennet said:Guess it would have helped if I read the article itself eh? 3015 will mean a very limited list of Mechs are even available, which could work very well. But the arty said this is to be more like a do-over of Mechwarrior 1 (which I can totally get behind), and yet there's a directed plot of whoever-we-are vs Kurita... I somehow think it would be more fun to have the whole openness of the original Mech1, able to side with whoever you like the paycheque of.fix-the-spade said:It says 3015, so the Clans aren't even known about yet. If it's Kuritans on the menu, they'd better give us access to plenty of Fedsun mechs, not just the Kuritan ones we capture from kills. The Kuritan mechs sucked in that era, while Fedsun had the best designs out there... FUCK they'd better include the Thunderbolt this time!

PPCs have tracking problems at close range, and while not as bad as LRMs, they're definitely medium-to-long range weapons. Unlike that Autocannon-20 on the Atlas. Partway through the battle, a weapon display pops up out of the middle of the bottom of the HUD, and it appears the Warhammer lost its laser weaponry at some point. Possibly to some of those autocannon hits that rock the Warhammer back and cause the PPC shots to go wide. No matter how big the mech, two or three AC/20 shots will seriously cramp your style.Khell_Sennet said:*ahem*... Missiles, not rockets.Zeithri said:Atlas is not difficult to defeat. Getting hit by that many rockets ingame
/nitpick
And yes, the Atlas may be a beast in the realm of armor, but it's poorly armed for a 100T mech, and its weapon loadout is too varied to be fearsome. The 'Hammer should have flattened him in no time, what with dual PPCs, and a chest full of close-in range weapons.
