I saw a poster for that at the theater, but do we really need another one? (I love the other ones, I just don't see the need for another)
There was no 'need' for Halo Reach, yet it was still awesome. There was no 'need' for Futuram to be brought back, but it was still awesome. The point is that lots of things that there have been no need for have happened anyway and have proven to be awesome. No offence, that's just how I see this.

To be honest the trailer looks great. I was laughing openly at some of the bits, including half of what Jack said, without even understanding the context, just because it was Jack Sparrow saying them. Very rarely is a mere trailer alone able to make me feel anything, be it sorrow or mirth, in such a way. So although I kind of wish Gore Verbinski was still directing, I'm happy that a new set of films has been made, and I'm happy that they've been able to make it into a stand-alone series mostly unconnected to the original trilogy. Just because a sequel isn't 'needed', doesn't mean it's not going to be awesome...
I should have mentioned, I saw the trailer. It still has the good ol' Jack Sparrow we all know and love.

Saw the article title: "Woohoo! This ought to be like that ninjas vs. cowboys movie, only PIRATES! Awesome! :D
Clicked the article: Damn it, it's just another PoC sequel! :C
Read the article: Woohoo (again)! No Keira Knightly/Orlando Bloom! c:

All in all, I'm going to be cautiously exited about this movie.

replacing two main characters MIGHT give this movie some of the old spark the first one had
no one new jack except for his old friend whose name i always forget
bearded guy that drinks a lot (yeah that narrowed it down to all the male pirates...oi...)
but two new characters that will be joining jack and might not know who he is?
could go either way, but i think it leans more to the hopeful side.

but hey i've seen the first three without much complaint so why not, aye?

but they should not go for a fifth one
THAT is to many
once you get to number four, just stop, the rest will not be as good as the first four
if they are doing what i listed above then they will either make a repeat of one and four, or make five and six like two and three, bt this time JACK falls in love.
so please let this be the last! let it die with grace!

like the shreck series. they should have stopped at number two!

Am I the only one who just isn't interested in this? I mean, sure it looks good and all, but I feel like the franchise has already run its course. The trailer just didn't grab me as much as it could have.

You know that feeling when you see a trailer for a movie and suddenly want nothing more than to see it? I don't have it.

Meh, Jack Sparrow was great. But without Keira Knightly or (dare I say it) Orlando Bloom, it will suck.
You must be the only person in the world with this view. Everyone I know pretty much agrees those two were the worst part of the trilogy

I think I'm the only person in the world that actually likes the second Pirates movie the best. -shrug- First one was good too, and as long as we all agree that the third one was shit, it doesn't really matter.

Pirate and Zombies, the scourge of my being. The two things I hate the most in fiction together in a movie from my most hated company, Disney.

Can't wait to see who they get for the porn parody though.

they better use this to make up for the third's boring, convoluted mess. Replacing Will and Elizabeth with Ian McShane and Penelope Cruz is a positive step, mostly because we don't have to deal with that forced, ANNOYING romance sub-plot.

I must admit I like the potc films, admittedly the third one only had soem decent cinematography and action scenes to it but I love anything piratey so I'll probably look into it.

Still, four movies? I guess you could say it's going a bit *puts on shades* overboard

Wait a second, why would there be more movies? I thought everything got wrapped up in the horribly confusing At World's End?
Where were you at the final scenes where some more tidbits about that special map were revealed? Too much soda, perhaps?

Here's my question. By the appearances of the tailor Barbossa has joined the kings navy. How in the world did that happen?

My first thought was "Another one? Damn, man."
Second thought was "Swedgen!"
I'll see it just to see McShane's performance.
