I don't find it scary, it is just a girl with white make-up to make it look like her eye balls are larger.
Watch the video of her doing it and it won't seem so creepy. You guys are so sensitive.
When I started this thread I called the picture creepy because the contrast between the two girls was so great.
But you're correct that it is just a matter of make up that changes her appearance so drastically. Geishas wear almost as much make up. It's the way the young lady applies it that makes the contrast between herself and the girl next to her so jarring.
The only real concern I have is that the operations she wants to get sound similar to the sort of things professional models sometimes get in order to make it big but which prove harmful to their health in the long run.

Well now this is the very definition of the uncanny valley. Holy mother in hell.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not gonna judge them on what they do with and to their bodies, and I maintain a stance of considering everyone as stupid as possible anyways, but ... it's neither appealing to me, nor can I imagine any kind of twisted mind that actually does find it attractive.
I'm not attracted to heavy women but one of my friends has always been most attracted to big (hefty) women.
Let's be fair to those who do find her intriguing--which I don't. Many men and women find certain individuals appealing because of "exotic" characteristics. To call anyone "twisted" for finding the girl attractive is to willfully ignore the old adage: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Eh?
If you find this scary...welcome to the internet, but this might not be the right place for you.
TBH, I think it's sorta impressive.

While I may not find it that attractive myself, I don't think everyone should be shaming her this way... She should be allowed to look however she wants.

As long as it makes her happy, then that's great. although admittedly, the link is better as that picture makes it look a lot more creepy than it is.
The funny posts are, well,
funny, but it's good to hear tolerance and respect for the young lady's right to do things her own way.
And it's good to know that so many people find her plans disturbing not necessarily out of revulsion but out of concern that this 19 year old girl might end up doing harm to herself.
At the core of all of this is the extreme nature of Ms. Shpagina's "make over". It's her body, and she does have the right to do with it as she wishes. That could change if--just for an extreme rhetorical example--she grabbed a knife and started cutting off parts of her body 'to lose weight' or anything similarly harmful or self destructive.
I think most of us would agree that the two girls are doing their "Barbie" and "Anime" things for the publicity.
Are they doing it solely because they're attention hounds? Doubtful.
Like tens of millions of people across the planet they're probably doing this and promoting themselves on the internet because they're looking to make a buck.
Money. Greenbacks.
Moolah.
Good for them.
And let's all of us be honest with ourselves
AND to each other: When it comes to grabbing public attention to make money, isn't Little Miss Anime preferable---
and certainly less ethically questionable---than this?:
