You, my friend, are brilliant, but seeing those pictures makes me think maybe it's a bad idea. Seriously, I would use to boldly flee to describe that look.(See what I did there?)
As Flight of the Conchords says: "Fashion is Danger". The wise flee from it by whatever means necessary.

Good on her. She's doing what she wants to do and doesn't seem to give the slightest damn what anyone thinks of her for it. You go girl.

Why is it people with spare money are able to do things like this and I am stuck getting progressively poorer? Hey anime girl! Next time you feel like getting creepy plastic surgery, how about you just give the money to me instead! I'll at least do something SANE with it!

Okay. I complain about weaboos a lot, and I also really hate plastic surgery. This... this isn't good for my mental health.

Decent points, but I still truly believe that lots of people *try* very hard to hate on something because it's the cool thing to do. There is a lot of closet Beiber fans out there, don't let what you hear from them fool you.

Also, the left peak is based on "pleasant aesthetics" and the right is "familiarity". You don't hear people say that anime characters aren't aesthetically pleasing as much as they are "stuuuupid, herp derp".
Agreed. I'm definitely getting a "hater" vibe in the discussion.

Though, to clarify, my overall point is that trying to make yourself look more like an anime character is wrongheaded, based on the empirical evidence represented by the Uncanny Valley curve. Also, a correction. The Y-axis is "familiarity", and the location of the first peak is an indication of what most people consider "pleasant aesthetics" because of the increase in familiarity in this range of human likeness (the X-axis). The peak at the far right represents the levels of human likeness that corresponds to "normal people", or the level of human likeness we find most familiar.

Finally, when I think of people who hate on people who like the anime aesthetic, I figure a lot of them are thinking about ecchi and hentai. You know how the battle cry of the brony haters is "stop fapping to ponies?" Same thing, except in anime the female characters are so often overtly sexualized that you almost can't dispute the misconception.

It's not just a bit of make up? She wants to get plastic surgery to change her facial structure, weighs 90 pounds, and wants to alter the rest of her body to fit an unrealistic image. This isn't cosplay we're talking about here. This is a woman who is possibly (probably) doing irrepairable harm to her body, and with her drastic weight, probably has image issues, is anorexic, etc.
Well, I'd say 90% of celebrities have had plastic surgery. Hell, people in my family have had it. I wouldn't do it myself -- seems too drastic -- but I don't fault someone for doing whatever makes them feel better.
As for anorexia, well you may be right. But I think that's besides the point, because anorexia and controlling your body weight to fit a certain role are two different things. Nobody called Christian Bale anorexic when he did The Machinist:

Although she could be anorexic, I'm not denying that.

What I'm mainly criticising are people who are attacking her and her hobby because they think she doesn't look attractive or they think it's "weird."

Psh, if she's really committed, she'll have surgery on her vocal cords to be able to speak in that insanely high-pitched animu girl register. And then she'll be committed in a very different meaning of the word.

Too bad its usually the wrong kind of anime girl that they want to look like. If they wanted to look like Nami, Haruko, or Faye Valentine I'm sure they would have no trouble getting people to donate money lol.

It could be worse however. They could want to look like Mitzi Nohara...

[HEADING=1]!!!UPDATE!!!!!!UPDATE!!!!!!UPDATE!!!!!!UPDATE!!![/HEADING]

Valerie Lukyanova is back, and this time she's taking PAYCHECKS!!!

From the article linked below:

*******************

The picture is from the new issue of V magazine, which flew Lukyanova, known as "the human Barbie," to New York for the shoot, proving her existence and giving us a glimpse into her bizarre brain.

Twenty-one-year-old Lukyanova refers to herself as "most famous woman of the Russian-speaking Internet" and often uses the alias "Amatue," which means sun goddess.[footnote]Does that make her related to Daystar? Inquiring minds WANT TO KNOW![/footnote] She hails from the Moldavian city of Tiraspol, and currently has 466 videos uploaded to her YouTube account with over 16 million views and 535,000 Facebook fans.

So what is the average day like for a human Barbie like Lukyanova? "In the morning I work on my face and I get a massage, then I spend some time on the Internet," she tells V magazine. "I meditate and travel in my astral body, and after that I work out at the gym. I go for a walk with my best girlfriend, I get home, and I make dinner for the man I love. Then I spend some more time on the Internet, do some reading and meditating, and go to bed." Yup, all in a day's work.

While clearly she values her appearance, she insists that her inner self is far more important. So in addition to maintaining her intense beauty routine, Lukyanova is focusing on her spiritual journey. In fact, she says she's a teacher at the School of Out-of-Body Travel. (We looked it up-as bizarre as it sounds, there is one textbook available on Amazon and an online course We're wondering if she's actually paid, and perhaps this is how she makes a living as a YouTube star and professional living doll.) To elaborate, she told V, "It's an international school in which our instructors show students how to leave their physical body and travel in their spiritual body, where you can visit any place on the planet and in the universe. I know that this is the future of mankind and that it has huge potential."

Speaking of potential, Lukyanova is also actively pursuing a music career in the unknown-to-us "new age opera" genre. She says she writes most of her work during meditation and astral travels, and counts music by Sarah Brightman and Enigma amongst her influences. "Sometimes I can write a piece in one breath, in as little as five minutes," she tells V. Another dubious unknown talent of Lukyanova: "I'm a professional mountain climber."

She may be real, but it's clear Lukyanova is from another planet.

*******************

OP's Note: In the comments from the earlier story I said that chances are that she was in this for the money. It looks like I wasn't far off from being right.

Being a mystic I personally find it interesting to hear about this School of Out-of-Body Travel. I've known people I trust who say they've experienced OOB travels before. I'm not exactly expecting it to be more than silliness, this School of hers. I'll get back to the rest of you once I've looked it up.

This one shows what she looks like without the make up.

This is her in full Fairy Anime Girl Mode.

This shows her without make up or special dress up. Look at that waist line!

It makes me uneasy seeing other girls do things like this to themselves. I know that most of it is make up, but the idea of getting surgery to tighten what is already a borderline anorexic waist? That strikes me as dangerous, even if her doctor clears her for such surgery.

On the other hand I fully support her spiritualism. I have astral projected before. It holds the potential for profound spiritual growth. But it is natural that people who have never experienced an OOBE do not believe in them. The only way to truly know such a thing is real is to experience it yourself. That truth is found in many different instruction guides for astral projection.
