Lol. I read a website dedicated to Professional pokemon battling, and Pikachu definitely falls off the radar in that context. (Actually, any pokemon that hasn't been evolved all the way does).
Still, I'm curious what the actual moveset for Ash's Pikachu is;
Problem with the cartoon is Pokemon have demonstrated using more than 4 different moves in the same fight.
So, you'd never copy ash's pikachu exactly the way he appears onscreen.
But, for professional pokemon battlers, a Pikachu is actually viable if you like to screw with your opponents.
You do not want to get hit by ANY attack, but with a light ball, Pikachu is actually pretty scary.
Keep in mind that historically, pokemon Yellow is the game closest to the cartoon series, and the Light ball item was something you could only get originally if you uploaded a Pikachu from pokemon yellow.
Doubling the attack stats puts the upper limits for a pikachu somewhere around 418 attack, and 398 special attack. To put that in context, Mewtwo has 319 attack and 407 special attack.
So, with a light ball, Pikachu actually hits harder than Mewtwo.
Heh. That probably explains why, back in the days of Gold & Silver my Pikachu was ripping through entire teams as long as nothing with resistance showed up...
