They always seem to do this with every new game.

What they should do, is make an event Flareon with Flare Blitz. OR JUST LET FLAREON LEARN THE DAMN FLARE BLITZ!!!

Why would anyone want a Pikachu after it's learned all of its attacks? Seriously, after it learns every attack by level, there's no reason not to evolve it.

Perfect plan:

Go dress up as Team Rocket, download the Pikachu and cackle like a mad hound.

How fucking hilarious would it be if after the event ended, Ash's Pikachu was just GONE from the show.

The light ball that doubles Attack and Sp. Attack doesn't work on Raichu, so if you have one, it's actually better to not evolve it.

After realizing I missed the chance to nab the Shiny Entei, Raikou and Suicune from Gamestop last January, I went into a state of deep depression.

I lost battle after battle with my pitiful team of lvl 100 Magikarps. The addition of Entei, Raikou and Suicune would have made a perfect addition, but seeing as I missed my chance, I nearly gave up on Pokemon as a whole.

On the verge of nearly throwing a Master Ball aimed at myself, I stumbled across this post. I read, with tears streaming down my cheeks as I finally found a renewed energy to live life again.

I love you, Escapist.
I have two of each, and if I hadn't promised one of the sets to a friend, I would totally give them to you for having a team of level 100 Magikarps (which is EPIC).

You can still get Suicune though, and that might be all you need to unlock the legendary in Black/White

You know, the only reason to get them is to unlock that event, because the fact that they're shiny tells everyone who sees them "I didn't work for these, I got them from Gamestop"

I can't remember the last time I went to a Toys R Us. I might head over there today if I can find one because the moves it knows are really good...

But really, compared to the 3 shiny legendaries that GameStop was giving out, this is kind of weak.
I walked into a Toys R US, I dunno 3 ish years ago.

I picked up a package with GI Joes in it.

I thought back fondly to my warhammer esque battles of 30 vs 30 and then I focused in on the joints.

Enhance...

Enhance...

Enhance...

THEIR JOINTS ARE MADE OF PLASTIC NOW?!?!

Jesus...the price goes up, the paint job looks like crap, AND they don't even have metal joints anymore.

I feel sorry for kids these days, getting crap for more than I paid as a child.

level 50? Everyone knows ash's pikachu is level 9001. This is just a cheap fake.

Interesting but not quiet as moving as some of the more powerful Pokemon give-aways.

Yeah, that item kind of made Raichu a completely obsolete pokemon, kind of stupid in my opinion. I like Raichu.

Lol. I read a website dedicated to Professional pokemon battling, and Pikachu definitely falls off the radar in that context. (Actually, any pokemon that hasn't been evolved all the way does).

Still, I'm curious what the actual moveset for Ash's Pikachu is;

Problem with the cartoon is Pokemon have demonstrated using more than 4 different moves in the same fight.

So, you'd never copy ash's pikachu exactly the way he appears onscreen.

But, for professional pokemon battlers, a Pikachu is actually viable if you like to screw with your opponents.

You do not want to get hit by ANY attack, but with a light ball, Pikachu is actually pretty scary.

Keep in mind that historically, pokemon Yellow is the game closest to the cartoon series, and the Light ball item was something you could only get originally if you uploaded a Pikachu from pokemon yellow.

Doubling the attack stats puts the upper limits for a pikachu somewhere around 418 attack, and 398 special attack. To put that in context, Mewtwo has 319 attack and 407 special attack.
So, with a light ball, Pikachu actually hits harder than Mewtwo.

Heh. That probably explains why, back in the days of Gold & Silver my Pikachu was ripping through entire teams as long as nothing with resistance showed up...

*Team Rocket* "Oh what the shit?! After all these years of failing now you're just giving it away to every lil bastard who can convince their parents out of the house?! Screw this, I'm going to Monster Hunter Tri."

And is pikachu even still that popular? Seems with 400+ pokemon out he would've been lost in the sea of "***** you ain't a legendary why would I want you on my team?!"

Damn I miss pokemon, this thread just reminds me of being a kid. I had a level 100 squad and Pikachu was one of them, yes I could have evolved it and made it stronger but then it just wouldn't be a pikachu would it. I'm really tempted to get black and white just to relive my youth.

... I'm not a fan of pokemon. When they made it so you had to put in a lot of RL effort(besides having two systems and both versions of the game) to get pokemon it got really, really stupid.

It honestly makes me rage a little bit. All pokemon should be in-universe which a lot of them don't seem like they are. Emerald was interesting in the way it did legendaries. IT was a lot of work. That's how it should be. But hte work should be IN-GAME.
