'Lost out on free advertising' eh?

Let's look at this.

Justin Beiber, a guy who has been around for a few years and garnered the attention of slavering pre-teen morons...

Mario, a character that has just recently celebrated it's 25th anniversary and has yet to fail at selling something just by having his face on it...

Yeah, so much free advertising lost...

Props to Nintendo.

I think Miyamoto doesn't want to sell out his creations for the sake of netting a few million bucks, Mario has been a symbol for Nintendo since the early eighties.

Either that, or he doesnt wan't to assosiate it with some guy who's fans only likes him for his Disney-esque fame (the infamous kind, not the Pixar kind), besides once his voice drops and puberty sets in his fans might not even like him anymore.

What was Step Up anyway? never even seen any adverts about it except for the DVDs being on sale at places like Morrisons.

Probally jumping the gun though, did they even menction where in the film they were using the music? could just be a context thing, or perhaps it's different with Scott Pilgrim just because of it's slight videogame overtones perhaps?

Okay, does this make any sense at all?

Justin Bieber is a SINGER (or he's supposed to be).
Yet most of the songs that I've heard or seen him sing were either covers, remixes of other songs, or some other famous singer was singing the song with him.

When is that little fucktard going to write his own songs? Cause right now the only thing he's doing is leeching off of the creativity of other famous artists...

But then again, I may be wrong. But still I stand by Nintendo in their choice to deny the use of their copyrighted songs. Especially since this "movie" isn't based around video games like Scott Pilgrim was.

I have to say Nintendo, you've impressed me. I would hate for Mario to be associated with Justin Beaber of all people.

That's fantastic. I respect Nintendo just that little bit more now, for not allowing their integrity to be compromised.
Maybe they're happy for things of quality to use their music, but they obviously see Bieber for what he is; a 15 minute of fame fad, with no real artistic relevance or longevity.

What has Mario got to do with Bieber? They're so totally unrelated to the point of it being an absurd notion.

Thumbs up to you Nintendo.

... Although I still have a feeling that a Justin Bieber game will be made at some point and it will be released on a Nintendo console.

Dear Nintendo,

I take back most of the mean things I've said about you recently

except for the bit about not exploring new IPs and betraying the gamers in the name of the casuals, you guys kinda earned that.

How dare you mix Pokemon into this, ITS BEEN AROUND LONGER THEN HES BEEN ALIVE!!!
Serious question - is this sarcasm or you being serious (sorry, but sometimes it's hard to tell with internet posts).
Sort of a rough guestamute. I actually just cheacked, considering work for Pokemon Red and Blue began in 1998, I believe, Beeb was 4 so not really I suppose... but I was close, wasnt that about the time Disney bought him from the slave market?

I didn't care either way, but after the directors comment, I sided with Nintendo all the way...

Thank god. I seriously hate Justin Beeber just on principle of the Disney/Nicktoons "Pre-Made Star" craze thats going on. Just one more reason why I make my little sister listen to metallica.

I love how the directer person has critisised Nintendo for turning down free advertising, but by turning the offer down they have recieved free advertising.
And turning it down is good free advertising, wheras the movie would be bad advertisment.
