Allow me to retort: No.
I have a Wii and I don't share your confidence. Other than Monster Hunter Tri all I play on my Wii is Paper Mario and Super Mario Bros 3. If I had to number all the really good games I played on this console, I think I'd have trouble getting to 10 (Lets be honest, the sports games are not good, they're just novel. They have zero depth)

I guess pokemon heart gold and soul silver didn't just outsell Halo 3 in about a month on the market

oh wait

nintendo is then showing off the ds replacement next week so its not a huge problem anyway

Which people still pirate. That was kinda the point he was trying to make.

So long as this 3d thing isn't a giant gimmic, like motion controls.... oh wait...

hahah seriously? how desperate is namco? Even I have a DS, and I'm the Demons Souls type of gamer.
These companies are simply not getting any traction on nintendo's market, and seeing their own markets slowly shrink as cleverer competitors like valve edge them out.

Nintendo was also going to collapse back in early 2010, remember those predictions? Oh boy, too bad they all came true and the Nintendo consoles have no games any-more and are only part of the past... Lulz jealousy

Also, as it's BOUND to happen, I'll just go ahead and "Flame Shield Up"
Please don't take this as an attack but this makes makes no sense. ^.^
We still have just shortly after early 2010, if that makes sense, and i don't think that those Predicters mean RIGTH NOW and ON THE STEP. ^.^

Honestly i wouldn't really care.
Nintendo wouold just go back to writing black numbers like in the old days.
AND THAT i would be happy about cause that would mostly be far better than what they are doing nowadays.

I wonder how all this piracy is affecting the development of the new handheld about to be released. Nintendo will definitely address the piracy issue in future generations. Nintendo has been known for creative solutions and I want to see how they address piracy.

Honestly if the developers get the interface right, any game can be amazing on the Wii.

The force unleashed for example was an incredible experience for me. Thrust you hand forward and force push. That type of setup gives a much more interactive experience than simply pushing buttons.

I worked at a movie store during high school. Many Wii owners are not ware of how shitty shovelware is. They will continue to buy and rent terrible games. I'll be damned if there is anyone on these forums that plays games on the Wii and only the Wii. Not likely.

I'll repeat my thoughts after EA complained about nobody buying 'Dead Space: Extraction'

You can not starve a person for years and then complain when their corpse doesn't eat the five course meal you spent all day cooking.
That's one of the best analogies i've ever seen. Have a cookiemonster:

If these companies actually got off their collective butts when the Wii first came out (when there was a ravenous audience waiting for 'hardcore' games) and actually made some decent games that played to the system's strengths (instead of just porting PS2 games with tacked-on motion controls) then the market for the console wouldn't be as lop-sided as it is now.
I agree for the most part, although RE4 is a (very good) port of a PS2 game which is a port of a Gamecube game, and it's one of the best games for the system (still). Actually that's terrible isn't it - one of the best games is a port of a last gen game... Jesus Christ devs get off your arses and make a good game for the Wii. Some of us can tell the difference!

Also, as far as DSE goes, it's a rail shooter. A niche market at best, no matter how sophisticated and thoroughly entertaining it is.

Technically it's a port of the Gamecube version, but with added content and features from the PS2 version. What does that mean? Better lighting, better textures and more trees than the PS2 version... basically.

This is, what? The fifth person to say something along these lines in one week?

And yet I still don't believe them.

Parents still think know that the Playstation and XBox markets only have violent games.

Now, what will any good parent buy, I wonder...
Not to mention that a good deal of parents these days might remember playing Mario Bros or Zelda on the Nes or still enjoy playing Mario and Zelda lol

Another thing we have to consider is the games that some of them are putting out. Namco Bandai on the Wii for example: DBZ: Budokai 2, One Piece Unlimited Adventure, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New world, One Piece: Unlimited Cruise, Tales of Graces.

So that's 2 JRPGs and 3 Games based off a popular Manga/Anime. (in Japan) I know that One Piece Unlimited Adventure BOMBED in the USA because of the lack of a proper dub, lack of hype and lack of interest in the series (as opposed to Naruto and Bleach.) and I DO know that Unlimited Cruise was somewhat successful in the UK and other PAL territories. (Note that One Piece is the equivalent of Water in Japan and so did VERY well.) Also note that one was a port of a game that had been out over a year on the PS3.

So that leaves what? Tales of Symphonia 2? A sequel game to a niche crowd and considering they'd released Vesperia on the 360 I assume most just went for that instead.

Namco Bandai have only themselves to blame for the lack of sales on their games on the Wii. Games for a niche crowd that are obviously going to get lost among the other games in a market that barely acknowledges Anime/Manga games that don't have NARUTO stamped on them. And they blame Nintendo for this?

Although this better not mean we won't see an english release for One Piece: Gear Spirit on the DS later this year.

Heh, my little brother has both the One Piece games and both Symphonia games. Actually the One Piece games don't seem that bad but I can understand why they wouldn't have done that well outside of Japan. As big as it is One Piece just doesn't have the same fan base as the likes of Naruto, plus 4 kids god-awful dubbing made most of the English translation massive narm. Don't even get me started on poison suction cups.

The World Ends With You was really hard to get a hold of though, at least in the UK. My little bro got it not long after it came out but with only one save file I couldn't really play. He went on about it so much I had to try it, but finding a copy took me ages.

I was so glad when I did though, it's one of the best games on the DS.

Back on the topic at hand. We keep getting this doomsday message about Nintendo and they just keep on rolling. While it's true they both have loads of shovelware the same was pretty much true of the PS2 and it did very well for itself. And despite what people think the Wii does have some very good games, they just don't release as many as consistently as what the other formats get.

Piracy is a problem for everyone as well. It might be easier on the DS but difficulty was never a deterrent. Hell a good few years ago the local ice cream van that did the rounds where I live would take your PSX and chip it for you, as well as sell cheap ass pirated games, and lets not forget the thousands of people who were playing Modern Warfare 2 on the 360 before it had even came out.

He is only blowing steam. Last I new, tons of people are making games for the Wii and Ds because, most likely due to the recession, it's much, much easier and cheaper to develop for. This encourages parents (amongst everyone else) to buy the games because they are cheaper. Does this put good games on the same level as shovelware? It depends on the developer, not Nintendo. The DS also holds the fair share of jrpgs, which - while they don't run around boasting about HD graphics - are still fun to play and sell shiploads. Isn't Ghibli making a jrpg for the ds? That alone says that money is being put on the system from good people.

And I'm sure in the future Nintendo will release some random update that will impair the R4 chip and/or brick people's DS's who use them. I buy my games.

Being that this is directly following a statement on how badly the PSPgo did, I'm wondering if these random up-top people are being coerced into making these statements. Money, after all, speaks everything.
