I propose we add some new rules to these forums. Ones that if broken result in instant probation followed by suspension if problems persist.

1) Console x does not lack games, nor does it only have shitty ones. Its not the console's fault that your taste in games differs from its target audience or that you're too lazy to put the effort into finding the good games.

2) Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft are not solely responsible for games made for their respective consoles.
eg. It is not Nintendo's fault that game developer y keeps making Baby Shakes a Rattle sequels rather than worthwhile games.

3) Being a pirate is not cool, nor is it something to be proud of. Those who do derive pride from it are scum and are no better than common shoplifters or other criminals. Also note, you are the problem, not the solution. You are the cause of DRM not the effect. And you are not Robin hood you are the petty thief who nobody remembers due to your opinion of yourself being much higher than your level of intelligence.

4) If you state hatred or ill will towards a console or developer give a valid reason or get the fuck out.

I could probably think of more, but its just a dream.
I realize I'm not supposed to make "this" comments, but... well... this.

Of course, this is The Escapist, where you're allowed to like any game so long as it's not from Japan, it's not on the Wii or the PS3, and it's not an RPG.

What has Namco-Bandai put out on the Wii that has been worth getting again?

When they put the effort into the game then i'll listen to the bitching from the company until then i'll ignore them and continue laughing at the massive losses they incur.

"Nintendo considered the downmarket to be the most important and put their first string teams to make games such as Wii Sports. The result is an explosion of sales with these low tier Nintendo titles. The industry looks at this and, idiotically, says, ?Oh! A casual gamer boom! Quick! Let us all start making casual games to ride this wave!?

"The rest of the industry has a completely different worldview: view the ?explosion? in downmarket games as a unique phenomenon (in this case, the fictional ?Casual Games Phenomenon?), and then assign many teams to make these ?casual games?. Instead of trying to understand Nintendo?s flight, they are putting on wings and trying to flap. Wii gamers become frustrated while Playstation 3 and Xbox 360
while Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 gamers laugh and say, ?If you want to play REAL games, buy a real gaming console! Hah! Hah!?

"Nintendo looks at the least popular things, the less-gamer related stuff, pull in the untapped market and then use that power to gradualy dominate the top market, while companies like Microsoft think that they're succeding because it's a fad, so they make half-assed attempts at doing what Nintendo does full heartedly, and then they start to ask why they're losing."

"As Nintendo moves upstream into the upper markets, Sony and Microsoft either fight or end up retreating upstream. Since Nintendo has a more profitable business model, they will win any fight over a tier with Microsoft and Sony. As Sony and Microsoft retreat upmarket, Nintendo follows. Eventually, Sony and Microsoft either become niches or leave the gaming market entirely."

I'd just like to remind everyone, that the DS was suppose to be a Virtual Boy. It was supposed to flop immediately.

Or remember when the Wii was supposed to be a fad that wore off in a short time? Yes, a fad that made Nintendo so much money and is still saling to this day and even had Microsoft and Sony copy them.

If by "collapsed" he means "expanded greatly," then I'm inclined to agree.

If not, then I call bullshit. The PS2 suffered from shovelware. So did the original PlayStation. So did the SNES. So did the NES. So did the Atari consoles and pretty much every console before the whole crash of 1983. With the exception of Atari (of the companies explicitly listed), neither Sony nor Nintendo have had their market collapse due to shovelware.

EDIT: Old news is old...I feel dirty now.

I read this thinking it was absolute bullshit.

Then I realised it was from a number of months ago...
I still think its absolute bullshit, but now I can laugh whilst doing so.

Well, there's probably some truth to it.

I mean, I really can't think of any decent, new, or original titles coming out for the Wii anytime soon.

Perhaps some rehashes, but, nothing all that exciting.

lol My response to this guy:

"Alright, fair. But, who are you? What's a 'Namco'? It's obviously nothing big."
