So much backlash against EA for this. We don't know the whole story. True, EA could just be jerks. Maybe, this person could be a complete blight on the community and this is the first legitimate violation where EA had an opportunty to take some sort of actual action against him. Is this their first offense or 20th?
Those people who are appalled by this story, let me ask this. If this story is of great interest and a source of anger, ask yourself "why?". It initially made me angry because I too thought EA overstepped their bounds here to smack some knuckles. I was frustrated because I would not want that to happen to me. Then I realized it never WOULD happen to me. I would take one of two actions:
1. I would hate a corporation bad enough to blaspheme it on their forums. I would boycott all of their games out of pure hatred. I can hold a grudge.
2. I would like/tolerate a corporation and play their games. I would be be civil on their forums. Or, just stay off the forums altogether.
This isn't like saying "I have a piece-of-crap car, but it's all I have to drive". There are plenty of titles and developers out there. If you hate EA, get out. If you tolerate, them stay in. Whay does the corporation have to take the high road in all instances where a player doesn't? I think they should. But I guess I don't know why they have to.
