Thank you Focus Groups for making another original idea go away with your shaming fingers and shunning glare. Where would we possibly be without your wisdumb? ...other than playing games based off of original or somewhat controversial ideas I mean.

Aaaaaand any interest I had in this game flies right out the window. I expected more from you, Warren.

And thus it has been proven that the reason that I wanted to play the game in the first place has been destroyed. Seeing the classic Disney characters in a different light like that would have been fantastic.

EDIT:
Also, Junction Point Studios is now on my boycott list, along with Ubisoft.
are you kidding me? they arent changing the image to make mickey more evil so youre boycotting the dev studio.... WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!

Erm... aren't you all over-reacting a bit? The only thing that's been altered is that Mickey's image won't change depending on the choices you make, so, unless you really enjoyed the idea of playing as a scrawny anthropomorphic rat, what is so bad about this decision?
Thank you! stop over-reacting, he's still able to be a bad dude, his image wont change when he does a mean thing, so?

OT: although... im wondering... did they just show images of the characters? because if they said "You will play as this mickey the whole game" then I could see it, but if they explained it the way they did in GI then I think it's kind of an over-reaction of whoever the focus groups were

By the time this comes out, it'll be just another Disney game, mark my words.
This is the reason I didn't get excited about this game to begin with. I just knew they'd start shivving anything necessary to accommodate "sensibilities", and screw artistic integrity and/or vision.

Where'd the steampunk go? Gimme back my steampunk!!

But seriously, how old was that biker? 20? and why would a biker be in a Focus Group for Disney?

I do understand that Disney would rather not like to alter their main character, but c'mon, he's been like that for nearly 50 years. Retire him from use save for the face of disney or don't drag him into games anymore if you're having a problem with that >.>

Well there goes my plans to buy it, I was never much into Mickey Mouse, always more of a Donald Duck fan, but it would of been something different.

Lol not surprised. The second I saw mickey in that game I knew it was destined for the trash heap.

The Disney greed curse strikes again.

Hey guys. Have you considered that the snarling rat idea while cool isn't really needed for the game to be fun? And none of you can understand what those people were thinking? Not even the micheal bay hating people? Sure you may consider this a better idea than what bay did to transformers but you must admit the first straw was changing the product at all. Personally everything else in the game sounds fun. Platforming that sounds decent don't get that alot. Also you get to have a history lesson and learn about all the exitinct characters in the disney universe. Well I think that's pretty cool all by itself. So the effects of behavior is lightened to a level to where it doesn't matter I say better off mickey isn't mass effect.
My only complaint is that it's on the wii i'll never get to play the game there.

Actually I'm not.
That's just the kind of guy I am I guess.

Not that I won't consider ending the boycott further down the line, but at the moment that studio is on my shit list.

Actually, that was why I wanted to play the game. The only consequence of my actions now would be what color the giant LEDS around Mickey's head would be. Before, being an evil Mickey meant you would actually look like a frigging evil Mickey, not the same Mickey with different lens flares.

There was a biker dude saying, 'Oh, I'd never play a Mickey Mouse game,'
Working in market research myself, that's what we call someone who's opinions don't fucking matter.

"People don't like it when you mess with Mickey," he continued. "We did a focus test that was really eye-opening for me. There was a biker dude saying, 'Oh, I'd never play a Mickey Mouse game,' and then we showed him images of a changed Mickey. I was sitting there thinking, 'You're gonna love what we do,' but he said, 'No! Don't mess with my childhood'."
Anybody else see the flaw in the above? He said he wouldn't play a Mickey Mouse game, period. Then we care about his opinion of a game idea about Mickey, why?

...

Wow

I am still excited.
I do not know how much it would have added, too bad the creator's vision had to be modified, but it is one aesthetic piece of a large puzzle.
