This is such bullshit, the game has a PC port, you can't get more hardware diverse than that. Why can't companies just be straight with consumers? Say it out right "MS gave us a shitload of money, fuck off Playstation owners."
Thank you. Companies just don't like to admit they love bribes.

The braindead idiots we call fanboys seem to want to forget this little fact of life and pretend Microsoft is the angel of the business.

You know what: I'm just going to leave that one alone, because it just don't make no sense.
Wow. You don't get it? Well, let me ask you this. How do you know what Microsoft does with the 5 dollars per month they ask from you? You don't.

Yet they're throwing money around buying exclusives. You can call it a fair tactic all you want, but don't deny it doesn't happen.

Edit: Crud. sorry for double post.

2 words. So what?
Never cared much for splinter cell, if the next rainbow six turns Xbox Exclusive i might get a little annoyed. I wont be truly pissed til' microsoft buys out every last single PS3 exclusive company and adds them to their own collection of exclusives, as far as I know, the MS doesn't have that much money..... or do they? 'sides if they actually do, i might spring for an Xbox.... feh like they're going to waste a couple billion to get a few more console sales.

And you don't know what they're doing with the money either. Lord knows that they couldn't be doing something like, oh, I dunno, paying off the RROD repairs, or conducting maintenance, or marketing, or developing stuff like NATAL, or ANYTHING else...

Just saying.

Also, I never said that MS has never bought exclusives: heck, all the companies do that (in equal amounts). It just ticked me off that you decided to connect something completely irrelevant to the topic at hand because you felt like bashing a particular company.

You made a comment that was inflammatory. Perhaps that was not your intention: however, I'm still obliged to bark at you for it. You're allowed to have your opinion, but when people pull stunts like this, it often causes news threads to become flaming pools of hate.

I seriously doubt AC2 will be an exclusive. Metal Gear was announced on the MS conference but its multiplatform. MS will just dump loads of cash into Ubi and they would turn. Ubi wouldn't do an AC exclusive anyway because of the cash they could make on 360.

Microsoft definately made it seem as though the new MGS would be exclusive and seem like a "blow" to Sony, especially the fact where earlier they said "Everything from now on here is exclusive to 360".
It's interesting you keep pointing this out when they basically stopped showing games for a huge while (dreadfully boring dashboard upgrade crap) before they showed the thing so they didn't really explicitly say anything about MG Rising being exclusive. Come on, do you really think they wouldn't be jumping up and down about it if they got Kojima on board with an exclusive considering the red carpet treatment they gave the exclusives in the same presentation?

Also, even if they did it that blatantly, it'd be no worse than Tretton saying FFXIV is only possible on the PS3 when Squeenix hours later announces both that they're doing it on the PC and might be interested in doing it on the 360 too. Not to mention there was the same dreaded megaton announcement intention thing going as with that game as with MG Rising. Why condemn one company for something you're vehemently defending the other for?

You're forgetting that it happens both ways. For instance, neither side has been above complaining about a game not being ported while at the same time saying the game they want to be ported sucks (L4D, MGS4). If it sucks and you don't care, why complain about it?

And let me tell you, going to a thread to put words into people's mouths [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.119244#2306730] and then telling them they're idiots for it before any arguments have even begun doesn't help your stance any. If you're accusing people of being idiot fanboys, just make sure you aren't doing the same things you accuse them of. It kind of undermines your point if you do.

Who the hell said I was defending Sony for that? I was still laughing my ass off at the whole "FFXIV...........ONLINE!!" announcment in general.

Another reason I'm lucky to have a 360. That really sucks for PS3 owners.
Eh I guess. From what I've been hearing the series has been going down the drain slowly. Maybe it's a rental (unless it's like Double Agent then I'm staying away from it like the plague).

And the braindead idiots that actually are fanboys seem to want to forget that XBox 360 and PC's core architecture are a lot similar to each other than to PS3's zombie Atari Jaguar architecture (especially since the PS3 has zero forms of connectivity to Windows such as the Media Player connectivity or the version of Windows Messenger Live the 360 has had since ever not that anybody uses it). Also I suppose Nvidia/Ati, Intel/AMD, and all the other companies that make parts for computers were in on the bribes as well so they can see some profit increases from people upgrading their computers to play newer games if they so wish. Where does the money trail end!? Oh noes! IBM is making parts for both the Wii and the PS3! Conspiracy! ATI makes graphics for both the Wii and the 360! Conspiracy! I hate to think of the veritable shitstorm that will follow should the PC version of this latest Splinter Cell iteration have the Nvidia logo in addition to its PhysX system!

I do so hope I can stop this hyperbole soon. Course that probably won't happen, since I'm sure you're one of those people who crows from the rooftops everytime a PS3 exclusive is announced, then act like Microsoft or Nintendo shot your dog everytime they get an exclusive

"HISTORICALLY LINKED TO MICROSOFT"
what a bunch of crap, they released all of the good ones over all of the systems (albeit they made each one different)I think they should consider making the games as best as they can and remain as consistent as possible across the systems because if they isolate themselves and the 360 takes another massive RROD style shit they will be in deeper than Microsoft.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
anyone else notice in PS3's new commercial where they show all of the awesome games on the system they show the same 6 games 5 times really really fast so the fanboys feel like they didn't blow hundreds of dollars?
This tells me one thing, PS3 should be FIGHTING ITS ASS OFF for more game titles, especially this one. If they want to stick around for 2 more years they need to get in on way more multi-platform titles.
I am going to make a prediction, if they continue not getting titles, they will start liquidating PS3's within 2 years.
