Go windows 7, it is much nicer and uses far less system resources.Rainboq said:Well, now I have too upgrade.... too VISTA *evil music*
Well, they did "fix" it for Halo 2 when it was released on the PC. Just because something "requires" DX10 doesn't mean it's actually built around it. It can just as well be an artificially imposed limitation without any actual backing in the game's programming. If JC2 is such a case remains to be seen.KSarty said:Unless he wants to re-program the entire engine, I doubt it. dx9 and dx10/dx11 are completely different.dryg said:Bet Razor1911 will "fix" this some days after release
Karhax said:Also, if I am correct the XBOX 360 does not use DirectX 10.
I think it is DX9.
So this would make even less sense.
If my memory serves, the 360 uses something halfway between DX9 and DX10...silverbullet1989 said:But if its dx10 + on pc, dont the consoles run dx9? which by the power of deduction... pc have actually got a game built for the pc n not a port... im not fussed, got windows 7 and a nice new 5870 on the way
Not nearly as bold as doing it with Halo 2. I don't really mind, especially since Windows 7 apparently is actually good. That said I wish games would have farther backwards-compatibility.Dublin Solo said:That's a bold move indeed. I sense another petition/boycott coming!
not quite dx.10 allowed per object motion blur rather than a screen based oneHardcore_gamer said:Really? That's funny.Andy Chalk said:Hope you PC gamers out there haven't been having too much fun watching all the spectacular trailers for Just Cause 2 [http://www.justcause.com], because it's DirectX 10 only, which means it won't run under Windows XP.
If I remember correctly the creators of Crysis said that the game could only run on very high visual setting on Vista since DirectX 9 did not support all of the game's features. And then sometime after it was released someone tweaked the game files that allowed the user to use the very high visual even if he was using a XP thus rendering the developers claims that the game's features did not run fully on DirectX 9 complete bull.
Something smells fishy here.....
