C'mon North Korea please nuke California, I want to see modern full HD images of what happens at a nuke blast zone and it's not like anyone will care if California is turned into a crater.
I would, I happen to live in California. Ofcourse LA could be turned into a crater for all I care....

Dont the North Koreans make movies about invading and killing other people all the time or something?
SO why should we care really?
That's called history class there.

I hope the US doesn't do anything to prevent this movie. I hate when people bow to terror threats, it only empowers the terrorists more, and I seriously doubt that NK will retaliate and if they do it probably won't be super effective

It's really fucking sad to see so many people condemning North Korean propaganda while spouting US propaganda. Invincible US military huh? Liberating the people of North Korea huh? Do I even need to mention that Iraq is about to be taken over by an al-Qaeda splinter group?

I should also add that the title is incorrect. There is no mention of war in the article quoted, it merely promises a "retaliation".

Well the US is trying desperately to find a new war to keep the military industrial complex going (Iraq, Syria, all the other places John McCain wants to invade), so watch what you say North Korea.

I wouldn't be surprised if the media war hype train started soon, with talking points like "North Korea declares war on the US", "They hate us for our freedoms", "We have to go liberate and bring democracy to those poor people" and "North Korea is an enclave of terrorism that needs to be dealt with".

Ohhh that film is going to be gold! Also how did North Korean know about that film in the making? I thought their internet would be somewhat limited.
Err...No. The people's internet is limited. Why exactly would the same be for high-ranking government officials?

Heh, I hadn't heard of this movie before, I'll definitely check it out when it comes out. As for North Korea, well it'll be funny watching them do fuck all in 4 months time when they're inevitably ignored :-D

I'm having a hard time imagining something more tasteless than making a movie about assassinating a current world leader.
Well, ok, maybe one thing is more tasteless:

'The comedy, which features a plot to assassinate Kim Jong Un, is described as "act of war that we will never tolerate,"'

If that isn't threatening war, I don't know what is.

North Korea has the fourth largest standing army in the world, with just over 1 million active duty personnel. They also have something like 10 million reservists. North Korea also outnumbers the South on tanks 3:1, SPGs 8:1, and AA guns 10:1.

That's a lot of '0' score reviews on Metacritic.
Sure, but for it to matter they have to get those bodies over here. Across an Ocean that we have the strongest line of defense in the world set up and into a country with 97 guns per 100 people (second place is Serbia with 58 guns per 100 capita) and the most advanced military technology in the world.

Tell me, what do you think would happen if we saw a battleship or aircraft carrier or planes start flying over? How many of even 10 million reservists would even make it to our soil? They don't even have strike capabilities to reach us.

The things to worry about aren't large scale attacks from them aside from cyber attacks. The thing to worry about is specific attacks that can be carried out by one or two people already on our soil. For example, assassination. Not necessarily of our leaders buy maybe these actors? That is something to be concerned about.

Not that I support bowing to threats, but that doesn't seem like a very good movie.

Maybe Kim Jong Un just has really strong opinions about film.

They just mooch off South Korea's high-speed internet. They're that kinda neighbor.

Anyway, nothing is going to happen. If they try and attack the U.S. they'll be steamrolled. The mans got a big voice but too tiny of balls to follow through.

I don't really see any invincible us military so much as people just saying we would steam roll north Korea in open war which is a historically supported fact. Back in 1991 the first gulf war showed a 20,000 Iraq troops to 200 hundred battle related deaths on the side of the collation (mostly us with a large of amount of international support) with 25% of those being caused by us troops friendly fire. All in all about the same situation, Some one using tech form one of the major cold war powers with a huge number of troops, against a modern military created one of the most decisive wars in history. Also I thought the more recent war in Iraq was extremely stupid as are most of or wars, and I would support war with north Korea nowhere else in the world is their so much blatant misinformation and oppression. Also I would not be so quick to point out american propaganda as the vast majority of Americans disapprove of our own government.

I swear, Team America has spoiled me. Every time I hear some news about the leader of North Korea, all I can hear in my head is "I'm...so...ronery..." :p

How about we still release the film but hand over Seth Rogen and James Franco to them to do with as they wish.

To be fair, it's just a joke. If North Korea tried anything, America would "liberate" the shit out of them.

Incidentally, wht does retaliation mean, if not war? Because if we get a North Korean comedy where Kim fights Obama, im all for this.

Thank you Jupiter065, I'm surprised by how many people on this thread don't have a problem with this. I saw the trailer for this a few days ago and thought it was in very poor taste. Making a comedy about the government-sponsored killing of a real named world leader (albeit a not very nice one) seems completely off.

Also it looked deeply unfunny.
