I just dont think there's a good precedent for it. I could be wrong, and eh if I am, but i wont be getting it, and its just my opinion this wont work. All I see for thsi game until details coem out is that its just going to be some fabricated plot (not based on the movie) to make the excuse that its not just a collection of minigames/sidequests while they rehash old episodes that were funny to watch at one point but will just seem nauseating now.ToastiestZombie said:Actually, South Park was made to be an RPG. Just think of the side quests! There could be one main story (like in the movie), but there could be so many awesome side quests, which will all be creative since the game has 15 years worth of show to work with. Also, when did continuity really matter for games? If it's an original game (not a sequel) then it means they can do anything with it.emeraldrafael said:This isnt the first south park game, and looking back on the past ones, and games of shows like it (the simpsons/family guy), I dont see this being any good and only selling because of brand name. I just dont think you can make a game based on a show where there's no real over arching plot and very little actual continuity/change thats visible
On the other hand; Parker and Stone are actually writing for the game, and we know that Obsidian, whilst being severely limited by publishers and a crappy QA team, can make really good RPG's.theriddlen said:There is no possible way this will work out. It just does not fit together.
It's gonna be a shitty cash-grab. And we all know it.
Finally a musical MMO!FogHornG36 said:I would agree with this, if it wasn't for the fact that Trey Parker and Matt Stone are writing the script, and doing the voice acting and all the stuff...theriddlen said:There is no possible way this will work out. It just does not fit together.

If anything, im sure the story will be good with them writing it, and maybe we will get a few musical numbers.
Well as far as I know, there was a Ducktales game on the NES that was glorified.Phlakes said:*sigh. I mean, my complete indifference toward South Park aside, do we really expect anything different than all the other cartoon based games? At least it's Obsidian. That's reassuringish.
Alpha Protocol also before they became Obsidian they made Fallout 1 and 2. OP As much as i love Obsidian i have mixed feelings about this.kiwi_poo said:Is it just me or has obsidian entertainment actually never come up with an idea of their own?
Knights of the Old Republic 2
Neverwinter Nights 2
Fallout: New Vegas (That's the 5th game, by the way)
and now south park?
