Awwwwww man. I think Oghren was my least favourite character out of all of them! I want Leliana back so we can go on that trip we agreed on.

Well Alistair was my favorite but I have no complaints about Oghren. I used him up until the end of the game and I quite enjoyed his comments back at camp.

Ohgren was good comic relief, but kind of a meh character. I realize the player favorite for most people was Morrigan, and she can't come back, but I have to agree on questioning this choice.

while Oghren is absolutely hilarious, i miss Leliana. i loved In Ulthenera (the song you got from pissing off the dalish elf who wanted you to not touch a specific chest) and her personality was so great. she was also kinda cute...

Depending on the ending you got most of the characters wouldn't make sense if they came back or appeared elsewhere on adventure.
Sten had to go back to his homeland
morrigan was TRYING to disappear
alistair might have a nation to rule.
Wynne is probably dead by now

The Dog, Zevran and Oghren are the only ones who pretty much stuck with 'the warden' or said "i'm going to wander"
Zevran actually went back to Antiva and killed all the master assasins, so hes out too. and if you killed Dog back at Ostagar he would be out too.

Oghren was the only possibility, since he was promoted to a Fereldan general with a new wife and child.

Wynne would probably be dead, true. but she is a possibility.

Leliana went back to Orlais, sadly. she and Alistair was probably my favorites. hopefully there´ll be a song as great as In Ulthenera in Dragon Age 2.

Alistair is either king or dead.

Shale went into the Deep Roads to murder stuff, so shes either dead or fighting with the Legion.

if you let him live to the end, Loghain used his reputation to get loads of people to volunteer to the Wardens, then he went off to a suicide mission in the Deep Roads,

Morrigan´s either pissed at you and probably plotting something or using the Super-Kid to take over Orlais (the ending said someone had seen her in the Empress´ court). i could imagine her as a possible villain in the sequel.

and we dont know about the guy from Return To Ostagar.

@Christemo;
Alistair isn't "either king or dead". He's either the King, stays with the Grey Wardens, dies killing the Archdemon or becomes a wandering drunk. Chances are he's still alive in some form for most players.
And there was no guy from Return to Ostagar.

Alistair bitched out on me and ran away when I spared Loghain's life. Fucker took my Superior Dragonscale Armor with him. And Loghain comes into the game way too late to build him up well.
As far as the latecomer goes, if you're playing the PC version I'd suggest looking up the Respec mod that lets you reset the stats, skills and talents on any character. Really helps with some of the poorly built characters. Zevran's total lack of lockpicking skills is also a problem that I usually fix with that mod.
Never really found much use for Zevran. I was range heavy and Leliana provided plenty of utility that he really didn't.
That's the whole point of the mod - you can spec Zevran for ranged combat from the ground up. Want to use Alistair in your party but you are a tank yourself? Spec him for Dual Wielding. Want to use Sten as your main tank? Spec him for Sword&Shield. Etc. etc. The mod resets all the stats and talents so you can redistribute them as you see fit.

The MetaGame Items mod [http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13] is better imho as it does all that but also lets you do things like change your class (Mage Human Noble? Done.), Origins (Dwarf wants to become King of Ferelden? We can do that) or just change your party members anywhere.

Also this (mildly NSFW, not really though.) [http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/images/13-1-1260091729.jpg]

Oh No, give Ohgren some credit Sten is FAR worse than anything in that game...

Although saying that as soon as I got Ohgren I never once used him...
Sten wasn't so bad after he opens up to you. Plus his sword searching quest wasn't too bad.
Ah now see, I found him so mind-numbingly boring that whilst attempting to get him to open up I just told him to take a hike and never come back...
I believe that's a pretty common issue. It seems everyone who hates Sten dumped him early on and never got him to open up, while many of those who used him for a longer time think he's pretty cool.
I really tried, I thought "Oh, giant strong warrior, sounds awesome, from an exotic land? Even more awesome! Boring monotone, one word answers EVERYTIME I seem to talk to him... UGH..."

I couldn't stand to wade through the shit to get to the good stuff, not when there were other characters willing to tell me about themselves...

I mean it's not like Sten owed me his life or anything...

Alistair was way too annoying. He was always whining about something. Leliana was nice too, especially if you got her turned to "the dark side", but naturally, Morrigan is the favourite. At least for me, because my character was a somewhat twisted blood mage. If power in politics is nearly as fun as power in games, keep me away from it! Drunken dwarves with huge weapons are preferable to whining children too, but the best part is how you gain +3 favour with Ohgren for browsing females at the Pearl (if your character is male that is). At least that was my most memorable "Ohgren-moment".

This news pleases me.

I liked him, I used him. The amusing nature of his of sticking with the classics of leering and ogling when you were with Morrigan.

I warmed to his honesty.

They should bring back Zevran as well, his and Oghren's conversations were by far the best.

Well, I found him okay. especially when he's having a go at his dog for stealing his pants (trousers, goddamit! You're a dwarf!) even when you didn't have the dog in your party.

Alistair could be dead by the end of DAO. It would be hard to write a story involving him that didn't use ME2 shortcuts (and they would be shortcuts)

Morrigan is clearly more of a villain type by the end of DAO. Either she's run off because you refused her Dark Rite, or she's run off to have a Demon Baby. Either way, she's more of a villain then a character you could bring back as a player character.

But yeah, Oghren? *sigh* I preferred Zevhran's humor
Well, Zevran can also be dead, so I don't really think they'd give him a major role.
fair enough :p

Hey, who CAN'T you kill in DAO? I know you can kill Wynne and Leliana... can you kill Oghren? Is that why he was picked? Because even if you side with the golems, he doesn't attack you, he just laments his wife's choices that led to her death
Well, Shale excluded, Sten? And... uuuh... I think that's it.

Pretty sure Sten attacks you when you enter Haven but I'm not sure if you can kill him there or just beat him down to make him get back in line as I've not done it myself.
