Hello everyone,
I remember playing an isometric real-time stealth shooter game on PC (around 2004 or 2006), similar to these games:
- Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood
- Desperados 1 / 2
- Commandos 1 / 2 / 3
- Chicago 1930
It's none of the above games obviously.
The game had a few key features:
- Primary way of combat was through guns.
- A diablo-like inventory management system (which housed your guns, as well as ammo boxes). I remember having to efficiently reorder guns and ammo to make space for more guns and ammo. I also remember hoarding guns, because you were able to sell them to a vendor in the hub area.
- Stealth. I think you were able to see the enemies field of view like in Commandos. You also were able to sneak up on enemies from behind and knock them out. You were also able to tie up knocked out enemies, although I remember there was a limit on how often you could do this.
- Mission based gameplay, although with visits to a hub area in between missions to stock up on weapons / ammo.
- I think it had a currency and you were able to visit a vendor in the hub area to sell weapons / ammo found on missions and buy new guns / ammo
- Control multiple characters (unsure on this one, hazy memory of being able to switch between guys in my party - I remember playing one guy only most of the time though)
The game had a crime like / mafia like vibe. I don't remember if I was playing the good or the bad guys though. Pretty old game that I randomly picked off the shelves in a MediaMarkt (around 2004 or 2006) in Germany. I don't remember if the game was actually translated into german or if it was just in english. I didn't read much of the story, I just skipped the dialogs.
I remember that the game had a strange name. I'm unsure about this but I think the name was just a number. Something like that.
I think I remember the first mission. You start on a dock pier at night time, next to large ship that you needed to infiltrate. There were guards patrolling around and I remember the game pausing a few times to explain the mechanics (like stealth knockout from behind and stuff). I remember restarting that mission a lot because I wanted to get in undetected, while also knocking out everyone and getting as much loot as possible. I think there I had multiple members in my party and I was able to switch between those members, unsure about this though.
Pretty hazy memory about this game, can't find it anywhere. Googling "old isometric stealth game with diablo like inventory management" yields no good results. Hope any of you guys remember it, would really appreciate it.
