I remember playing a game where you were a time traveling car who went back to prehistoric times, when I was much younger.
That's got to be [a href="http://www.mobygames.com/game/putt-putt-travels-through-time"]PUT-PUT TRAVELS THROUGH TIME[/a].

The game I'm trying to remember is also an NES game. It's futuristic, and you control an airborne ship. It could have been a robot. There were definitely upgrades, and there MAY have been some RPG elements to it, though I really don't remember if I'm just thinking of the upgrade items. It's a side scrolling game. I think the level is always moving, and you need to keep up.
I've got a game on the tip of my tongue, but all I can think of right now is [a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBS8GJKjBqI"]MAGMAX[/a]... Could it possibly be [a href="http://www.mobygames.com/game/nes/section-z"]SECTION-Z[/a]?

This is a pretty weak guess for a pretty broad description, but is it [a href="http://www.mobygames.com/game/nes/faria-a-world-of-mystery-and-danger"]FARIA: A WORLD OF MYSTERY AND DANGER![/a]?

No, it wasn't top view like in Faria. The view was more like in castlevania i believe.

Can anyone tell me the name of this one...

You play as a star with legs and if I remember correctly his hands were floating limbs so he could reach quite far. It was on Sega Genesis, ahh the memories. Also this game with a circle fellow (literally a red circle) with shades doing things.

Plus this (either n64 or SNES don't remember) game about a bear or something, it reminded me of the honeynut cereal bear but it probably wasn't. If it was for N64 I remember it having an unusually large cartridge, so it was probably for SNES.

For the Megadrive (genesis). It was basically Contra but you played as 1 of 4 Robots.
Its called Probotector, its the PAL version of Contra... kinda, I haven't been able to find a copy or any other way to play it. There is a Probotector on the Wii Virtual Console but it's not the one we are thinking of.

I'm nearly certain that it's [a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maBgAEfzZdM"]RISTAR[/a].

If it wasn't top view, it was first person? That would have been useful to know.
I'm going to guess [a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhQg-b4j5ZM"]SWORDS AND SERPENTS[/a].
Though it has about as much of a chance of being the right answer as [a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8U9cFiC8uak"]BARD'S TALE[/a], [a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9q8OtEq0eoM"]MIGHT & MAGIC[/a], [a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ne9RZOmOjdk"]WIZARDRY: PROVING GROUNDS OF THE MAD OVERLORD[/a], or [a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5polWFM7Vgg&feature=related"]WIZARDRY II: THE KNIGHT OF DIAMONDS[/a] have.

See how many times I can get this wrong- you know what I mean?

Shops + Nintendo Entertainment System + Side View + Fantasy = [a href="http://www.mobygames.com/game/nes/faxanadu"]FAXANADU[/a]?
I don't think this game had much in the way of dragons, but I'm running out of ideas, man. Can you throw me any more bones?

2 games
1 is an old rts with different races that was cool (sorry can't really elaborate on it more)
2 IS a battle driving game. Think Death race meets Wipeout and unreal tournament, winner gets out of death row. Lots of cool arena and weapons, no idea what happened to it though.
1.) Dune? They weren't different races though so maybe not.
2.) Twisted Metal? Twisted Metal:Black was the one with the get off death row storyline from what I recall, but the series has been around since the early PS1 era.
No
for the second one the convicts were always in their respective pod/cars lots of weapon upgrades as you drive around and it was PC
Sounds like Carmageddon.

It was on the old school library computers back in Primary. You used nytroglycerin and tennis balls and gravity pads to solve puzzles... goddamn I want to play that game.
That would most likely be The Incredible Machine or any of it's variants (I'd have to know how good the graphics where first to tell) I grew up playing that, Stoneage and Supaplex all of which I still have fun playing

Right now I can't think of the games I have forgotten, but that may be as I found a few old games to distract me for a while this last week :p

That game you're thinking of is Ristar, the genesis for what later became sonic the hedgehog.

Dang, I have one. I can't for the life of me remember what console it was on, either, I think either PS1 or N64, maybe even earlier, though I doubt it. You controlled a girl (I think wearing green? With brown hair?), and the only part I can remember is running through a dark series of caves, and to recover health you had to eat stuff that looked like chicken wings, which were visible on the floor to pick up (I'm pretty sure there was a sound effect of her wolfing the chicken wings down). There was a ridiculous boss somewhere in the caves, too, and he was pretty tough, but other than that...

Nothing. Dammit. I played it very briefly at a friend's when I was six or seven, and have never seen it since.
Was it Gauntlet Legends?

The two games you're after are Ristar, and Cool Spot (he's a bottlecap by the way).

I remember this one game for the PC fondly, you were some kids in Egypt and had to solve puzzles to find special treasures. Or something like that. I just remember being in Egypt, Ancient Egypt I think, and solving puzzles. If anyone remembers the name of the game, or one they think it might be you should totally tell me :p
