I remember seeing my dad playing a (if I remember correctly) first person star wars game. The game starts with collecting a lightsaber(?) from a chest and escaping an exploding ship. It was on the PC.

*EDIT* Also, does anyone remember the name of a bionicle (lego) flash game? I remember a puzzle about rope, or something along those lines. Thanks!

I tried reading through this thread to see if someone already asked mine, but that was a fools errand. Anyway, the game was an FPS with weird weapons. Like a gun involving bee's or something. I think it was on ps2 and/xbox.

OK--this is a stretch, google has failed me completely!

I recall a game from the mid or early 90s, I believe with full actors/video.

It was played like Myst--you walked around a military base (with a garden in the middle) and were some type of military/private security who had just arrive on base.

Presumably you are on an alien world and are there to protect colonists.

You talk to people and take the interminable elevator up and down stairs.

You get lectured repeatedly on the dangers of the aliens and the atmosphere, and are told you will die instantly if your suit is ruptured or you remove the helmet.

At the end of the disc, I'd go outside finally for the first time, to fight aliens. An explosion or something knocks you over, and an alien looms overhead, before removing your helmet.

With the helmet off, you realize it is really a woman with reddish curly hair, and it looks like you are actually in a normal atmosphere.

Anyone else remember this game?
Wikipedia tells me that that's the plot for a game called Quantum Gate.

I posted this in a similar thread but have had no luck, so I'll re-post it in here:

I have two games for you guys to discover. Unfortunately, what I remember from them is very vague.

1) This game was on an old DOS computer. It was set in Ancient Greece, though the story I haven't got any clue of. You play as an (old?) upper-class man, and begin the game waking up in bed, then making your way to a nearby bar. The game is highly reminiscent of Hugo's House of Horrors (same type-command gameplay), which was also on that computer.

Good luck, because I've been trying to find them for ages.

I completely forgot about that request. I just looked that up and no, that's definitely not it, sorry. The game I was looking for was much older than that, and took place exclusively in Ancient Greece rather than being a time travelling thing.

Nice try though. Welcome to the Escapist!

My siblings and I have been going mad trying to remember this game we used to play. It was an old Windows game with these alien-like characters. I believe there were some mini games like one where you conduct a marching band, and another where you put the aliens into boxes based on their size or colour. I believe there was also a talking octopus?
Please help! We're not sure if we're imagining things or mixing a few games up.

Alright I have been going nuts over these two games I played when I was younger.

One I remember you were playing as an egg, and there was a level (could have been the whole game) where you were driving around in a cart, similar to the Donkey Kong Country cart levels. It either a regular nintendo or super nintendo game.

The second was a lot like Dig Dug, except you were a tank instead of people. I don't remember its purpose I just remember digging in to the ground with a small tank. Vague I know! And I do not remember what console this was for but it was an OLD game.

I played both of these in the early to mid 90s.

If anyone could help that would be amazing! Thanks!

Aww, :( I was looking for my own game and when I saw that I thought; zomgz i know it! Obviously not :p

The game I'm after is a bit obscure, it's probably from the mid to late 90s. It is a 3d platformer and as far as i can remember the screen was sort of at a 45 degree angle. You were playing an old man in a castle and there was the odd bat flying around and you had to collect things??

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to remember the name of an old game i played.
It was in a "maze" and i needed to kill all the monsters in the field by taking power ups and shooting / throwing / stabbing the monsters. ( the monsters don't have the same weakness )
The monsters i remember --> Werewolves, witches, deadly flowers, green frankenstein? , and more...
The game was on levels.
Sometimes there was a HUGE monster like i said it could be werewolf, witch, deadly flower and green frankenstein.
There was more monsters but i can't remember.

Thank you so much!

P.S, sorry about my grammer problems.

Hey guys, I have been looking for a game. Already spendt so much time looking for it, so now i'm trying this.
- Strategy game.
- You could train different units such as thieves, elven archers, wizards.
- There were monsters and mission targets roaming around the map, which were attacked by your soldiers when you gave a monster a bounty I think.

Could be Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim.

Hey guys, just made an account to the Escapist. So, I used to have a ton of PC games from early 2000s and possibly late 1990s. I think my dad threw them out at one point, and I am so angry because I remember older games being so great.

There are 3 games I'm trying to remember. 2 of them I had a demo for.

The first game was a game where you were a hover craft of some sort. It was a first person shooter. The graphical design is very geometric(everything in triangular shapes from what I remember & 3D). You collect a LOT of weapons, and when you die, all your weapons come out of your exploding ship and remain where they are. you begin back at the beginning of the level. When you return to the place where you died, you can find and pick up all your weapons again (rockets blasters etc?) I remember levels being elaborate in shape. You tried to kill other ships (They looked like Tie Interceptors from star wars if I can remember correctly) All I can remember about the time is that I was playing tomb raider games around this time (this game probably came out around the time of the first PC tomb raider game).

The two other games I had as part of a demo pack.

second: An RPG with magic medieval setting. It had a setup similar to diablo or sacred. However, what was very distinct about this game was that there was a funky looking alphabet for the world's language (don't know if this helps). Main character was a male with sword, and he had long brown hair with the look of Tarzan. The demo began on an island, and you fought giants that were hard to kill I believe. You could assemble these tablets/Circles that had writing on them and formulate a spell.

The game described above came with a demo pack that included a game where you are a female policewoman and fought other police officers/criminals (very similar to tomb raider setup).

The last game: A Lord of the Rings type game with 7 or so Factions. One was Death, another was Earth or something. The setup looked like Civilization normally. When you fought a battle, you played on a diamond shaped map (like age of empires or something), and you deployed your troops. The death faction had wolves and a cavalry. The Earth faction had these giants.

Does this ring any bells? I would kill to find any of these games
