Guys, need help remembering Genesis game that was discussed already here but not answered.

It was mentioned (i think he meant the same game) in this post http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/jump/9.166417.13829206:

"it was a side scrolling platformer/adventure game, kind of like castlevania, I recall you could pick from a few classes (ones I recall were warrior and mage, although there might have been more). The levels had bosses at the end of each, if i'm not mistaken, they were usually satanic-like. the first level i believe was around a mountain with some lava.

What I can add: i almost sure it was not Blades of Vengeance http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blades_of_Vengeance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxY-wlJdKG0, but something similar to it, because it really "was around a mountain with some lava." and not in cave filled with lava as was in Blades.

Platform side-scrolling game with warrior, wizard and maybe someone else - check
Experience gain or something like that - check
First level in cave filled with lava like BOV - NO

Please help? Or I'm really mistaken and that game was BOV...? (this... can't... be... :'()
At last, after so many years I found it. Cadash. Cadash. Cadash. Cadash. Yessssss....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadash

It was ported on Sega in 1992 so it existed there.

Platform side-scrolling game with warrior, wizard and maybe someone else - check
Experience gain or something like that - check
First level in cave filled with lava like BOV - check
Yuppi, I am happy now.

Hi Guyz!

I am totally new here(like a Paratrooper landing on new continent..) so in advance sorry for not following any rules or something like that... and sorry for bad grammar..

(My memory is very blury because I played this game on my first PC so I was very young at that time and my information may mislead you...)

I am trying to remember an adventure game (I think..) and all I can remember is that the game is on PC ( win 98 or 95 I think), the main character is in blue clothes(robe), camera is like bird view (in some situations 2D - 3D). its like detective puzzle solveing RPG game, u collect various items to progress in game also coins ( I cant remember what you use the coins for... XD). The name Lab, Lab32 keeps poping im my head when I am trying to remember anything.. (maby it has something to do with publishers or the door from the house lab that you must open with a key, i dont know... And the last thing that I can remember is the scene, the house lab, red car, but the sea is also near like a coastal area or docks.. and it mostly rained in that area and if I am not mistaking the castle was also visible in the distance... oh yeah something to mention, its not very engageable game in terms of fighting you mostly trying to run away from danger... that is all so if, IF anyone knows the name of the game PLEASE tell me, I will also be active here now and help for mutual interest not just snatch the info and vanish!

so being thinking/remebering about this game I also rememered another AWESOME game that i have played and its about racing, its a PC arcade racing game with space ships who you can upgade (weapons, speed, ect.) or you can buy new better ships and upgrade them, its strictly about raceing, its strictly 2D game, you had multyplayer, 4 players or 2 players ( dont know exatc 2 or 4 players...), also good to mention i played this game before first described game, it was one of my first games I have ever played and u had AWSD, space controls so it was keyboard rapist not the joystick. :D

thank you in andvance and cheers from Croatia :)
For the second game take a look at Slipstream 5000

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slipstream_5000

Thank you for so fast reply, but unfortunately its not the game, I ment 2D like literaly 2D.. I dont know the terms diferences between slipstream 5000 and Galaxy 5000 but I ment 2D like Galaxy 5000 and ofcourse that game was more simpler in background (mostly everything was black except obstacles that shaped the track which were grey) than actual ship from galaxy 5000 game, in that game was who had crazyer weapons he would win and if I am not mistaking ships had shields... anyway thx for trying :)
Aha, so more like R-Type, Katakis / Denaris

I'm looking for two RTS games that I played demos from ages and ages ago, I'm not sure when, but it must be like 10 years ago.

1) This was a space RTS that was very similar to Homeworld. It had the same camera panning and zoom functions that game had, only a bit more clunky.
The gameplay was also very similar, starting out with a mothership, researching tech and developing better ships.

Storyline wise, I remember is was about two races that developed in the same solar system but had never met before the events of the game.
One of the races was fairly dark-themed, the other was lighter themed. Both races were more or less mirrored in terms of units.

Resource gathering was done by sending freighters back and forth between asteroid bases if I remember right.

It was NOT one of the usual, more recent asked games like Haegemonia, Sins of a Solar Empire etc. I've tried to find it myself, but I couldn't even find it by going over the list of all RTS games on wikipedia

2) A sci-fi RTS that prominently featured bipedal mechs. One of the biggest critiques about the game was that the gameplay was excruciatingly slow, you had to plan your stuff way ahead to succeed.

Graphics were fairly advanced for its time but I can't honestly remember much about it.

Edit: Had a breakthrough and found both games myself because I remembered the first letter of their names.
Game nr1 was O.R.B.(Off-World Resource Base), critics found it a competent copy of Homeworld but nothing more, which is OK in my book considering how no1 wants to make Homeworld type games anymore.
Game nr.2 was called Thandor: The Invasion, critics thought it was a mediocre product at the time.

Lots of thanks to anyone who manages to find out.

Hi !
So am looking for two games ! one is kinda "snake" game which you had to clear the screen to be able to get to the next level, the thing about this game was it was on time, and the snake was moving all the time. Some times a watch would pop up and you would get extra time, and a heart could also pop up and you'd get an extra life. The game was a puzzle type, and the snake got longer with every bite it took. When you ate everything the you moved on to the next "island". i don't even remember on what console it was i remember i had emulators on my pc.

And the other game a played a demo. Its a shoot em up flight game. but ur plane was a wasp like thing, you played the game with a view from above, you got weapon upgrades and so on. that i think was a PC game.

Hope you can help me !
That first game has to be Snake Rattle N' Roll for the NES.

I remember it was a gameplay trailer, or more it felt like a technological demo, showing off an engine without any HUD (ammo, health etc). I think I saw it between years 2006-2007. It was a First Person Shooter set in some sandy town which felt like Egypt, Turkey or Iraq, the place where it was happening looked like this - http://bit.ly/1btublC ... you know this kind of a building structure, I also remember that there was a little sandstorm going through that place, enemies were all over the place - on roofs, on balconies, in alleys, enemies were also wearing this on head - http://bit.ly/1d1D1xO ... person which you controlled could lean over objects, was holding and shooting from a weapon which looked like FN-FAL - http://bit.ly/1cvMngh or HK21 - http://bit.ly/1hL3YaZ ... at least I think, and in a background was playing some kind of an orchestral Arabian/Turkish felt-like music. I don't even know if that game was released or cancelled, or if it was just some kind of a technological demo, and I also don't know for what platforms it was made for. Can't remember more.

I won't give up posting 'til someone knows a name of this game.

OK I will now type just rubish but tell me honestly that your description dont smell like Spec Ops: The Line? (only year doesnt match)... :D XD

Not only the year doesn't match but SOTL isn't even a FPS.
I know that SOTL isnt FPS I just asumed that it has an option to play in FPS mode because I didnt even play it and Btw they started makeing the game 05 and your description is similar but NWM...
Sry m8 didnt mean to upset, just to bring your post on the top that new ppl can see your prob and maby answer ;) I am no good here with old-ish games.. I know very little about old games just few like Dangerous Dave and similar... FPS isnt my thing (except HL ;) )...
I'm not upset at all.

Looking for a PC game that came out between 1995-2000 (could be 2001-2002). All I remember is playing as either humans or "greys" in the campaign. You had your basic soldier units, advanced units, flyers, etc. It's not Starcraft. I remember it had cinematics, too. One I remember distinctly was of some humans fighting some greys and one of the greys got their head blown off and it should the pulsing red insides.

Any ideas?

I want to say Mars something, or Red, or maybe I'm totally wrong. I remember also that selecting units when playing as the Greys would have this cheesy robotic voice. I remember "Trooper" sounded like Tooper.

Help! Any is massively appreciated!
Dark Colony! YouTube has the video I was talking about, too! Nostalgia fix, satisified!
Red Faction?

Hello fellow people! I for very long time couldn't find an old game from my childhood.
It's from 90's i believe..
Well, description of the main protagonist: a young wizard , violet coat, eye patch and it's a strategy maze game, with monsters that must eliminate with magic, the monsters have a spawn point so everytime you kill one , will come back, it had monsters like, Witch, Vampire, Carnivorous plant, Frankenstein , a Fish-man? (It was so silly that moster, he spotted you and rush to the end bumping into wall, lol ), Mummy etc.. in the maze you find weapons to defeat them and then destroying their spawn. It has so many levels that after i can't remember..the easy ones to say, it come to have 2-3 or more type of monsters in that maze and it's complicating and getting more harder to solve it.
Ideas..please? :<

Does anybody remember a game for the pc. Probably early 2000s where you are a little kid with a cape and you travel around trying to find and collect candy bars(I think 31 bars). If it helps there was a scene where a dam built out of French fries blocked the way and you had to select the right condiment to put on it to get rid of it.

There's a game I used to play that I believe was on the PS2. It was an RPG and possibly started with "Tales of..." And it isn't Vesperia. The game begins as all RPGs do with a few cinematics that lead up to the gameplay but I can only remember that it shows you your opponent. A female that I believe begins with an R in her name. The only part that stands out in my mind is that the first time you're able to control your character, the cinematics show that your entering some type of arena contest. When you control the male protagonist for the first time, it's in the arena. Against the female, you don't stand a chance. Swinging your sword barely does any damage. But if she connects a few times, you lose. The game is scripted so that you'll lose to her. Later on you end up with her in your party along with other characters that join you. It has a romantic RPG style almost like Final Fantasy but it's not a 'pick attack, choose which attack and then watch the attack.' You actually move your character around and press a button to swing your weapon. If anyone knows the name that would be awesome! Thanks!

yes and no XD
yes, because it is closer than slipstream 5000 XD
no, because u shouldnt run far away from Galaxy 5000 (the camera view is the same, the graphics was better), the main thing was Racing in that game not shooting and very fast racing :) (I just remember split second tracks and ships, there is no story in campaign in my memory and i belive it is correct because real fun was in multiplayer, because of the crazy weapons and in MP u had like 10 tracks and in that 10 tracks if you would win you would get money and unlocked and buyed the new, better, crazyer weapons and everything.... oh... great now I get Memory popup like... ok maby it was that u progressed in campaign and there u would buy many ships that second player could choose in MP :( (now i cant tell what is true and what false...) anyway I just remembered (80% sure) that your first ship is color copper and shape I cant describe but i will improvize, shape is like this blue ship but more fatter shaped not so narrow like on pic: https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQOStLkqRHwq4FsDzjrwejhSPvtcsVgdO2k6UTmEgRnq2j5HECzow
and another 2 good things to mention 1. one of the worst weapon that I can remember was shooting from behind gray ball like bombs and I mean lots of ball like bobms that bounced from the glowing gray shticks who shaped the tracks and it was always hard to get passt them... 2. the main menu picture(s) was very good drawings graphicly I mean... but as I said, it was much simpler than Galaxy 5000. Background was black (in my memory) I cant say for sure if there was anything else to see like planets and stuf.. (I think it was pure blackness, maby there was some asteroids floating in the way but just maby.... I remember that space ships just looked AWESOME at that time and i dont know how they did it to look so good... oh... but the tracks was awfully simple blacknes with glowing gray sticks that shaped the track... I cant tell you more right now.. but YOU ARE GREAT HELP MAN! I rememered this all because of you... this search become a time to time hoby, 5 years of search... so take your time M8 :D (because THIS IS progress)!

I signed up to this site for this question alone. If anyone can answer it... I will be impressed, amazed, and very grateful.

Game was for the PC, must have been circa 1996, give or take a year. Wing Commander was pretty much lauded as the Maker's gift to flight/space sims. This little off-the-wall game no doubt tried to capitalize off their success. It was a sci-fi flight/space simulator, which was pretty much all combat, to the best of my recollection.

Platform: PC (Windows 95, probably)

Special features: There are two unique features that come to mind that made me never forget playing this game (just the name of it, apparently).

1. You could choose up to three wingmen for each one of your missions. Their stats would give you an idea as to their ability, but more importantly, their fatigue. Fly a pilot too many missions in a row, and they would more than likely not make it back. There were aliens in the mix, too, that much I do remember: I want to say a cat-man hybrid, and possibly a mantis looking thing maybe?

2. While in a mission, you could actually swap out the game CD for a music CD! Imagine that! You could plug in your own soundtrack to the game while you flew missions! This is how I'm able to narrow down the year, because I remember specifically flying around to Metallica's "Load." Don't judge. That was nearly 20 years ago. But, it was pretty cool blasting fighters out of the skies to the tune of "Ain't my B*tch."

If you can name this game, I would really appreciate it. Driving me nuts!

i have a memory of a game from a long time ago im not sure when it came out but i know i couldn't read very well yet so im guessing around 1996 give or take. the i remember a scene from the game a kid was running past the screen he looked at the screen and then ran away to the right soon after a man i think he was bald but im not sure he asked the player if we had seen the kid i remember dialog options apearing on the screen being a 3 or 4 year old kid i still couldnt read that well yet so i dont really know what the dialog options were but after i selected any one option the man asks me "are you sure" and then another dialog option appears i select one option and the man walks off screen. i also remember an opening cinematic where you see what happened before the scene i mentioned earlier the man was stuck in some kind of teleportation device in the wall. the man was shouting at the kid saying "ill find you kid" and thats all i remember i was hoping i could find this game again some how to see if its any good. thank you in advance

I remember playing a rpg style game a long time ago. It was on console, but I'm not sure which one. It was anime graphics. You recruit generals with special powers and fight groups of soldiers. I think it was turn based.

G'day there,

I'm looking for a game from my childhood. I think it was played on Windows 95 computers or perhaps at a stretch Windows 98 computers. Its graphics were minimal, it had a minesweeper-esc grid that you 'raced' cars on. I think it was a maximum two player - one red car, one blue car. It was a turn-based racing game though, and you had 'momentum' that sort of decided the range of squares you could 'choose' to 'drive' to next. I would describe it as a tactical turn-based racing game where you had to out-smart your opponent. You could make your own tracks too, and I think there was some sort of an oil-slick mechanic which messed some cars up. It had some sound effects too I think, but that could've been seven-year-old me being imaginative and now tampering with my brain.

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a PC game that had 3 factions based on a tiled map. You battled to take control of control points with a group of units you commanded with other people who had their own units and the units were very starcraft-esque. For example, on faction had tanks, artillery etc and another faction MAY have been zerg-like but I'm not entirely sure...

It was quite futuristic and sci-fi but had poor graphics but great gameplay.

If anyone could help, that would be great THANK YOU!

EDIT: The game was early 2000s I think and there was a system where you could vote for a leader (real player) for your faction regularly. I'm not sure about this but you could also pay to upgrade your units/having to replace or repair them? You could definitely level them up with the fighting I think. It was in third person, angled-down view, similar to Starcarft. Graphics actually quite similar to Starcraft.

Edit 2: Some more information is that it was FREE TO PLAY and you didn't have to build building for units, the units entered strait into battle with you (and units came in groups of like 8 or 10, not individually. There were also no heroes.
