Been trying to find this game for weeks with no luck... even after going through nearly every list of PC RPGs I could find, including Wikipedia's. So here goes nothing:
I played this game only a few times, well over a decade ago at my neighbor's (with whom I've since lost contact). His dad had a very large collection of pirated games back in the day, some more obscure than others (for example, he was the reason my friends and I spent our Jr High years playing the Russian-made RPG, Rage of Mages 2). So, it's likely this is a relatively unknown game.
Anyway, what I remember from the game is that it was a (?1997-2001?) third-person futuristic RPG. When you weren't on a map, you could visit various areas in the city to buy weapons/armor even mech assault suits, as well as upgrade biotech that gave enhancement to your abilities (like dexterity, for example). You didn't control your character when in the city, you just clicked on the areas, as I recall, since it wasn't a part of the live game. After you were geared up you could join a map (possibly isometric?) where you attacked enemies and discovered loot to gain wealth. The game was multiplayer via lan, though it might have been IPX-only. The graphics were probably on-par with at least the first diablo (animated sprites, detailed art, etc). All the game text was in English, so if it wasn't originally in English, it was at least properly translated.
A lot of the game mechanics remind me a bit of a simplified shadowrun, but I don't think the game had things like astral or matrix planes. I can't remember whether the combat was turn-based or real-time, but I'm pretty sure it was real-time (action-rpg style). I kind of recall the name being short, maybe an acronym, possibly with numbers in the title.
That's all I can think of. If it sounds somewhat familiar, please throw out a name. I'm dying to find it again.
EDIT: I think the game might be "Paradise Cracked" based on some screen shots I found. Going to check it out and see.
