BUUUUMP !

i have an hard game to remember. it was an ms-dos game, i remember i was playing it together with Electro Body (Electro Man), so it could be in the '90-'92 about.
i'm not sure if it was a shareware game. i remeber it like a 2D side-scrolling game, opening with a short animation that showed a guy with a kind of jetpack crushing on the desert... this guy is the protagonist btw.

things i remember (just something, i was child when playing):

-you are armed with a sort of gun (unlimited) and a sort of grenade launcher (limited)
-in the first level, you find yourself in a tunnel and you have to proceed among this tunnel moving to the right.
you see a kind of blue pattern on the ground, and mountains on the background above the tunnel.
there is a point where the blue pattern is interrupted and you are not able to proceed; you have to shoot the mountains to provoke a kind of collapse, then the blue pattern is restored and you can pass over.
the enemies on this level are a kind of green/blue floating things.
-on the 2nd level, you move by walking (no jetpack)and you find walking/shoooting enemies with human resemblance.
you can perform short jumps, but to climb platforms you must use a sort of climbing hook.
i remeber explosive barrels on this level (if you jumped on them, was insta-death lol!)...cameras/torrets armed with guns in the upper platforms... kind of flying (red?) demons that you could release from a green egg by shooting it, and hard to get rid off... a kind of floppy disk that you could collect, and it was falling on the floor every time you were hitten (never discovered what was his function).
once i got at the top of this level, and there was a kind of parked navicel, very resemblant to an ufo (dunno about it!)

never reached level 3 (if it existed lol),
if someone has a memory of this game's name please help me! i want to re-play it and finish it xD

Hello everyone, I remember this game from my old phone. The game is not that old, I Just cant find it.

It was in a dungeon, where you were playing with some wizard, Oh and it was an fps, 2D game, you had a rat with you Who could go through these mouse hole things and find items. You fought skeletons, dwarves, and there was a boss (?) a werewolf like creature near the end of the game. You had wands staffs, swords, and things like that.

I cant really remember anything else, I just loved it and want to play it again. And sorry for my bad English.

Here's one that has definitely stumped me for quite a while because of how little I can remember. It was a side scrolling game with a dark theme to it and it came on a demo disc with Gex (possible also another game). This is also a PC game.

Platform: PC
Release date: late 1990's or early 2000's, most likely
Info: I used to watch my dad play, so I only remember bits and pieces of it, but what I do remember was that it took place in a dome that I think they kept criminals in and they build little societies (there was a new city and an an old city and one that was all nature aligned and things) and I think it played kind of like neverwinter nights, but I also remember it being 3d-ish (for that era) but I could also be mashing two games together now and it's making me crazy because I can't find any proof that this game ever existed. Help me .__.

Hey there Escapists. So I actually came to bump my own thread. I realize this is only for the hardest of hardest of gamers in the oldschool/classic age that probably don't have much memory about it like me.

The first game I resolved myself, and I actually bought it and played it! That game is one puzzle maze! "Azrael Tears" <- try this if you are as old as me and into gaming from that age and on.

Anyway I still have two game left to ask you guys and I expect and answer. ---------

-------->

Game number 2 is also a DOS game. It's a top down game where you play as an young indian boy. You start of in your village and need to collect weapens and tools to help you on your adventure. I remember walking through a bright green forest, shooting my arrows at enemies and talking to an old indian man that gave advice on what to do next.

Game number 3 is a SNES game. This truly is the vaguest memory I have. It was an Egyptian style game and a sidescroller. The colors where vivid and the graphic were pretty good. I vaguely remember collecting items that jumped around or somewhat. This is truly all I can envision from it as the memory is more of a feeling these days.

------------------------------------------>

I really want an answer about the game number 2. I know it was a well known dos game, so any 8 year old at that time (1993?) should know it. Well if he was into gaming at least.. I think.

I know it is asking a lot (especially number 3), but you are my only hope.

This is starting to drive me crazy so I decided to post to try and ease my mind. Turn-based rpg similar to xcom. Might've only played a demo version. I remember the level was in some kind of industrial area. Fighting alien (insects?) with a limited uses steel pipe (not the only weapon in the game).

Hi, guys! I really like this thread lots of people helping each other out, lots of people finding the games they've been missing. Its fantastic. If anyone could help me out with this game I've been looking for I would very much appreciate it.

It's a flash game that I found a long time ago and it wasn't hosted on a site like Armorgames or Kongregate like most flash games are, it had its own website. It's a 2-D game, kinda like a side scroller, on the bottom it had sort of like a command console and you had to type in various commands and the character would perform them. There was also a pie chart indicating various character statistics, like hunger, thirst, happiness, health, energy. It's kinda like a Tamagochi game; you have to keep the character occupied. Also it looks very similar to Maniac Mansion, except the graphics are drawn more similar to South Park: Stick of Truth.
All right so from what I can recall the game starts off with a college guy standing in the middle of his living room in his house. There was an orange couch and a window above it and you could see the daylight/nighttime switch. I dont remember how the character moves around, could be with arrow keys, tapping on an area or maybe by typing an area into the console. From then on you mostly stay in the house. I remember only a few details, like you can type in "buy groceries" and the character leaves the house, then you can see the time on the clock quickly passes a few hours and the character comes back with bags of groceries, it's the same when he goes to school or to work. The character also had an intelligence stat and you have to read books or study, and the character gains intelligence, I believe he can also lose intelligence by playing games or watching TV, but gain happiness, eventually both stats can be maxed out though.

That's about all I can remember. I hope someone can help me out, that would be awesome.

Hello, does anyone know what this game might be. It was a 2D side scrolling spaceship game. (similar gameplay as the game "r-type"). Here are the things i remember:

- i played it about 15 years ago.
- i played it on PC (pretty sure it was windows 98). (maybe it was a port or something, but probabily not)
- it had a co-op mode (2 spaceships on the same screen).
- at the end of every level there was a boss.
- the weapons were getting stronger and i think that you had like a super shot every now and then (or maybe it was limited to one per stage).
- enemys left some stuff you could collect to get points. (not too sure about this)
- i remember it as quite dark and the enemies came from different directions.
- i think that if you played co-op mode the two spaceships were a bit different.
- i am from europe if this helps.
- not too sure about this but i think there was a stage with a lot of meteors of different sizes running towards you and you could shoot them down or avoid them.

@theblackronpaul It's similar but it's not what I am looking for. The background was land instead of stars. Thanks for replying though.

I hate that feeling. I was going through that the other day. I was trying to figure out the name of an Xbox game that was role-playing. You were able to customize your armor and got skills and abilities as you leveled up. I searched for awhile and discovered it was Baldur's Gate. That was a great game. Definitely deserves a remake...

I remember this old CD ROM pc game, it was really similar to diablo in the fact that it was a bird's eye view hack 'n slash. The name of the game was something like "silverlight" or "darklight". I just know light is in the title of the game. You could also select you class when you started and had attributes like dexterity and whatnot.
Defenitely not old, but there's Torchlight ( http://www.giantbomb.com/torchlight/3030-25983/images/ )

I have been trying to remember and find this game for some time now. I _think_ it was a Commodore 64 game, and I remember the name being "Down, Down, Down", but can't find it anywhere. The basic gameplay was that you were a square or diamond-shaped object falling through the level and you had to avoid different obstacles. Searching for "down, down, down" and video games yields a _lot_ of results about cheat codes, but little else that is helpful.

Anyone else remember this game and know an alternate name for it?

There is a game i played something between 5 and 10 years ago. It is a first person shooter set during the first world war, with nazis as enemies i think. The story is normal for the first say half an hour then zombies and some kind of fire mage appear. After defeating this guy you acquire this demonic weapon and the following plot takes place in these underground "cities" inhabited by some kind of humanoid species. The combat gets more and more into melee, with your waeapon slicing everything (i think it was some kind of claw, usable in 3 or 4 "stances"). It was pretty gore, very funny. I really can't remember the title or any other detail ( well it was mainly this, combat and carnage :D ). Oh and there was this i think combo system of some kind, with successive hits allowing you to be even more destructive. Can anyone help me?

I have one game I would like to know about, It is an arcade game. It has 3d graphics, it is of the fighting genre, the characters you choose from however are not the usual karate masters or ninjas, they are robots with different abilities, weapons and their own strengths and weaknesses. Just like in other fighting games you would fight one on one with an opponent and once you defeat the opponent you would move on to the next level.

The arcade machine itself was pretty big, it has two seats, two screens, and two sets of controls. The controls from what I remember their are two joysticks both are used to control your characters movement in different ways but only the right joystick has the trigger that fires weapons or attacks, One of the special control movements I remember is jumping which involves moving one of the control sticks forward and the other backwards at the same time.

One of the characters I remember is a robot that is colored white (this is his sort of "first player color" his second player color I do not remember however if you do not choose him as your character he will still be white when you fight him (he happens to be the first robot you fight if I remember correctly)) he is one of the faster moving characters, his weapon is a lance/laser gun which he even holds out in front as if it were a lance while he is running, He will also use his weapon as a sword at close range and a rifle for long range combat.

Another character I remember is (how can I explain this correctly) I remember both the first and second player colors of this particular robot but I don't remember if the green was the first color or if the brown was the first color. anyway this character is not as streamlined (or not as skinny) as the first character, he is a bit bigger, if I remember correctly he moves around either by hovering or on big wheels (I am pretty Shure it is by hovering) has what appear to be missile launchers on his shoulders (but they shoot barrages of fireballs instead), and he attacks enemies at close range with a flail mace.

Their are different 3d arena's of combat, some with water in the, some with large stones, others with lava if I remember, some arenas more round while others were rectangular. Another thing I remember is that some of these arenas were sort of designed to fit the opponent you are facing. for example one of the opponents has the ability to fly (I did not explain her because I don't remember much her about besides the fact that she can fly) the arena is created so the character is standing on a place where she can take off, and has enough space in the air to stay in flight. If anyone can tell what this game is or can post any images/videos I would be very great full.
