Mad Professor Mariarti (1990)munuainen said:As so many before me, I just had to register to find a game from my childhood.
I played it on Amiga 500. Release year must've been late 80s / early 90s. Some of the other games I still remember playing around the same time were Duck Tales and Rainbow Island.
This one was either a side scroller or it had rooms. Side-view anyway. I think the game had a single character you played with, a professor of some sort, if my memory servers me correct. I vaguely remember there being four different levels you could choose from in the beginning. The player had an inventory and you could pick up items and use them in appropriate spots. I still remember how one of the levels was completed in a screen where there was a steam/water pipe and I think you had to either open a valve or break the pipe as a final step. I remember water rushing out just as the level ended.
One of the other levels had a scene I think you arrived from the left side of the screen. You were standing on a platform and down below there was an alligator monster. The exit was in the other side. I never managed to get past the thing by jumping over. It always caught me.
Still in one of the levels I got stuck in a screen that you ascended into climbing a ladder, I think. The scene had a spacey feeling to it and, every N seconds, the professor showed signs of what I remember interpreting as freezing, like shaking from extreme cold. You could hardly make a few steps to any direction in the screen before you got killed by the atmosphere I suppose.
I've googled for hours and skimmed through game lists, looked at screenshots etc, but never found release.
