Okay. Heres mine. Gadaffi is not the bastard the media likes to make him out as. He ousted the british controlled puppet monarchy and turned oil based economy rape around to putting all of the profits into the country, resulting in free healthcare, housing and education (It might not be the best but hes trying) and, the US and the EU sold him weapons until he decided to sign a treaty to not build nuclear weapons. *Waits for hate* And thats my piece.
Exactly my thoughts, except replace Gaddafi with Saddam Hussein.

I don't like Penny Arcade, like, at all. I just don't find it funny.

I oppose the marketting of Duke Nukem Forever and I agree with the feminist groups who are against it, especially in relation to the whole 'Capture the Babe' gametype. I don't care if you call it 'satire' because all I see is sexism being celebrated as being funny and awesome with no hint of actual social commentary in any way.
I suppose you'd double-dislike this [http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2011/3/23/], then. Because clearly the EEEEEEEVIL mysogonystic themes are far nastier than mass murder, and thus completely justify a huge outcry from a million people.
Ergh.

Listen dude, no matter what way you slice it a gametype that reduces the woman into being a single purpose objective in a game is always going to be offensive. Let alone the fact that in addition to being carted around as objects, the game includes the whole slapping on the ass thing.
Seriously, carrying around women as objectives (the 'ball' in a ballgame) an having there be an additional bit of slapping them on the arse if they start to struggle is just awful.

It's stupid and sexist. Don't 'irony' or 'satire' me, this is just being stupidly immature and sexist for the sake of being stupidly immature and sexist. It's not satirizing the sexist nature of the games industry or of pop culture in general, it's just celebrating it.

As far as this whole 'compared to mass murder' thing goes, Call of Duty is set in a warzone environment. Not everyone can be a soldier but everyone has the capacity to be a sexist pig.

I'm not saying either is likely to happen as a result of playing games, but comparing something that is actually a representation of gender discrimination, versus the much broader idea of fighting in a fictitious war environment as being equal just isn't true. Think about it another way:
Which do you think is more offensive and shocking? A game all about just smacking around black stereotypes or a game about fighting and killing in a war against zombies?

So yes I DO double dislike that comic. It combines completely missing the point and stupid obvious jokes, all the while doing it to defend a game that I honestly don't think deserves to be defended.

I think lots of people would agree with this. Pretty much every gamer I know hate every water level there is. *shrug*

For me, I don't really know... It seems like everyone can agree to others' opinions to some extent. But I guess people would agree the least with my opinion of butterflys. I think they're nasty and ugly creatures.

I enjoy the Jimquisition.
Vegemite tastes amazing.
I prefer MW2 to MW1.

One that comes to mind immediately is Twilight Princess' water temple. *Shudders*

Of course it's celebrating it. Joking about various unacceptable things is a core part of humour.

Q: How do you get a blonde out of a tree?
A: Wave.

Q: Why can't women drive?
A: Because there's no road between the kitchen and the bedroom.

Q: How are husbands like lawn mowers?
A: They're hard to get started, they emit noxious odors, and half the time they don't work.

Q: Did you hear about the Irish abortion clinic?
A: It has a 12 month waiting list.

Sexism, sexism, racism and, ummm, hair-ism. And yet I know that, if I were to tell all those jokes next time I had dinner with the family, only the second would get any "Ooooooh, that's a bit rude..." responses. Humour relating to discrimination is everywhere, there's no reason to get offended just because it happened to be about misogynism rather than one of the million other kinds.

Neither. Well, that's not entirely true - I'd be shocked if the former made it past the PC brigade and actually hit the shelves, but I wouldn't have a problem with it. They're both perfectly fine as long as people grow up and stop taking everything so damn seriously. Oh no, someone's killing zombies. Oh no, someone's saying mean things about black people. How dare they. You can either take offense and storm off in a huff or laugh it off and take it as a joke, the way it was obviously supposed to be interpreted. Unless you're saying that DNF is an evil plot by a secret anti-women evil corporation to turn all men into misogynists by means of superliminal messaging.

The vast majority of the world's population suffer from mental illness with varying symptoms. Because of this, just about any trialed opinion[footnote]Where I define opinion as the collected and processed information of a reasoning individual (mentally healthy).[/footnote] will be challenged by the majority.

I think DNF is a secret plot to turn all men into idiots. I didn't laugh at the jokes the first time around (well, except for the whole shitting down your neck thing) and I was 13 then. It's just another nostalgia product, same as Transformers. I agree with your overall point about comedy though. Duke should be allowed to spout his retarded one-liners until people stop paying him to do so.

Reading is one of the most fantastic, engrossing and enjoyable pass times ever. It's the original story telling mechanism, aside from verbal retellings, and is one of the best.
Well said, I couldn't agree more. No other form of media could hope to match the length of time a vibrant written tale can hold your attention, and then demand the same level of reverence many years later.

OT: Just because it's uber-popular doesn't mean it is completely transient tripe. True story.

Minecraft is a terrible game, hate unfinished products.
Well, I personally don't see how either A: That makes it bad, or B: That just because it is in Beta, makes it unfinished.

I'll explain B.
1.Can you pick up all blocks and place them?
Except for Bedrock which your not supposed to be able to, yes.

2.Does all of the current functions in the game work properly?
For the most part yes, but like other games, there are still some glitches. Luckily, they are being fixed rather well.

Just that makes it complete to me. Sure they are adding new additions which might be glitchy at first but then fixed, but many computer games get those kinds of updates that aren't in beta, only to be corrected before going out to the public, just in this case, we find the glitch and report it.

More on Topic:
I don't believe the Soviet Union was communist.

It was at most socialist since they mostly focused on their 5 year plans trying to catch up in industry through what could most obviously described as dictatorship with the promise of communism that never occurred. That is the more basic way of putting it.

Just in case here is another point: The Soviet Union tried for communism, but the basic foundation of communism was not made for such a large country nor for a country with a certain lack in industry. The Soviet Union was a unique case.
I don't wish to buy a game in the hope of it one day being good, furthermore, I enjoy games which have set goals rather than sandbox games such as Minecraft, Sims, etc.

Brink was a good game.

Portal 2 is extremely overrated, but still good.

I liked the Halo games, but they need more story.

FPS games are starting to annoy me.

The Kinect is actually fun if you are at a party with lots of casual gamers or intoxicated.

I thought that PSN getting hacked was hilarious.

Every single kid under the age of 14 should be not be able to speak on Xbox live mics.

The Jimquisition actually has some good ideas in there, but you have to look... really, really hard... like REALLY, really hard...

Edit: Also People who say "Uber" annoy me deeply.

I really enjoyed both Kane & Lynch's, enough to actually play through them both in one sitting because I thought the characters were quite well developed and somehow managed to make you feel sympathetic towards two disturbingly sick hitmen.

Again with K&L, I damn well enjoyed the camera. It's one of the few games where I DIDN'T hate the shaky cam. And anyone who complains about why a cameraman is following them is just stupid, it was for the Blair With style, and the cameraman being shot at the end was a 4th-wall joke.

People who only quote off the first page.

FFXI is incredibly fun if you enjoy a tight community and grinding >.>

SoJ's were an awesome D2 currency.

Viva Pinata is awesome and deserves a bigger and better game.

Harvest Moon 64 absolutely blew my mind.
