Metal Gear Solid 2.

I tried to get into the series by playing "The best game in the series" (This was before MGS4). Maybe I was expecting a different type of game (A stealth game like Splinter Cell or Hitman), maybe the controls were too different from anything I was used to. I don't know exactly what was wrong, but I know that if I'm not going to enjoy the best in the series, I probably won't like the rest of it.

I hated InFamous 2 and Minecraft. InFamous 2 because they ruined everything, and Minecraft because the whole game consists of "Punch trees until you got wood, stack wood on top of each other, have hard work destroyed by exploding penis."

Bioshock, Gears of War, Minecraft, Call of Duty, The Elder Scrolls, Dead Space, All of the Halo games after 2 (Probably because I played 2 when I was younger, and GTA IV. I just don't get any of those games. Why would people want a [Dull / Empty / Juvenile / Pointless / Non-Scary / Schizophrenic / other] game like that?

Halo 3: ODST. I suspect others will back me up on this. Not that much of a bad game, but hardly a good one. It had very little replay value, multiple plots that I still haven't worked out properly, and you still felt like an uber soldier. Not what I hoped.

Mass Effect - after loving the smeg out of KOTOR
was just hit by a big wave of whats all the fuss about?

Mario Sunshine - One of the only games I pre-ordered, and got to around bowser jr and traded it. stupid FLUD jet pack!

GTAIV - to be honest, i long for a top down perspective which has disapeared since number III, but why design a game which will be playable in a pretty graphical setting on a 'PC from the future.' WTF?!?!?!

Resident Evil 5 - Probably my fault for playing this one player with the stupidest computer controlled AI assistant ever. Why Capcom, when resident evil zero showed how it can be done well? Plus wasn't scarey, and with every enemy dropping ammo, meant it wasn't tense either.

Mass Effect 3 I heard it was so awsome but when I played it myself it disappointed me. Probably because third person shooters aren't my genre

Mario 64 - Yes I am sure I will get a lot of stick for this but I found this game unplayable on release and after trying it again last year I still cant play it I even found it worse than sunshine and yet loads of people rave about it cannot understand it at all give me super Mario bros, super Mario 3 or Mario galaxy anyday (not Mario galaxy 2 though that game just puts me in a bad mood whenever I play it dont know why the level design is still impeccable but it just isnt much fun).
When I got my N64 many many years ago, Mario 64 was one of the game that came with it. As a young'un, I struggled to understand the whole "6 Stars per world" thing and got stuck very early into the game.

Then when I finally got the hang of it after playing a pre-existing file (Was a pre-owned copy) I got to 99 stars, and got stuck. See, you have to catch a rabbit in the basement twice, once before 50 stars and once after. Because I didnt get it before, I was gimped out of 100 stars and had to do the whole thing all over again.

Aside from that, it was brilliant. Would love to hear what specifically made you not like it.

I didn't like Bioshock at all. I don't get why everyone is saying how the storytelling is so great in it. I didn't see any story telling that trumped saaay.... half life.

I didn't bother to play any CoD game after CoD 4 - actually I don't enjoy 3/4 of the newer shooters.
Assassins Creed was kinda boring gameplay wise and searching for flags and shiny collectibles was just dumb.
Dragon Age 2 for obvious reasons (a reminder: copy&paste level, the retarded dialog opions, gameplay etc).
Mass Effect 2 - Inventory cut out, Gears of War playstyle and don't forget the horrible planet scanning.
Resident Evil 5 - only a generic shooter with a terrible AI assistant.
Bioshock - as successor to System Shock I actually thought it would have been better.
WoW after Burning Crusade - it just lost all its charme and shits all over the lore

There are probably a lot more, but this are the games which come to mind at first.

half life 2
the hype was pretty... exaggerated, i knew that when i bought it; i was not expecting to install the messiah of all video gaming ev0r on my hdd, but i expected it to be at least pretty good; i found it to be pretty... mediocre? ok, regarding the technical aspects it sure was above par - EXCEPT for the loading screen every 50 metres. was that really necessary? i don't think so. AI wasn't the brightest (what turned the escort parts into not fun), and the oh-so-awesome g-gun... was not the revelation ppl made it sound like. the weapons were the usual stuff one might expect from a shooter, and story wise it was ok, too - but that's it: it was ok. i expected a tad bit more from a game hyped like HL2

CoD (play it if you like it, but don't sue me if i don't)
Dragon Age

one fascinating turn: Bioshock. the first i played it, i thought: meh... and after about 2-3 hours i had enough
didn't touch it for a year so
played it again
and then, after the very boring beginning and corrected expectations: i was enthused ^^

Crysis 2...just...no...I have never been more infuriated at a game for being so cliched and stuck up its own ass as I have with this game. And Bioshock, I was expecting a lot more depth to the character customization and some type of inventory system like in System Shock 2. Luckily Fallout 3 came out not too soon afterwards and got it right.

There was a story in that game? Or is being led on by some dude in a suit who never explains himself considered a story now?

Bioshock, and to a lesser degree, Borderlands. I've started Dead Space, but put it on the shelf when I found Akham Asylumn for dirt cheap. (My GOD that game is amazing. One of my favorite games, and I'm not even a Batman fan!) When a baddie ran across the screen in the dark for the first time in Dead Space, that was freaky, when one fell on my head, that made me jump, but this is not that frightening a game besides. Shoot them in the legs, then in the neck. Done. Damn fun though.

Though I AM playing on easy because I'm a bit of a horror wuss. Heh.

Prototype - But then again was it really that hyoped back then? But my "Eh" stance comes from the fact I did play Infamous before Prototype so my view may have been distored.

Dead Island - Sorta is getting there, I played like everyday for a week but after that I look at it and it's become one of those "I'll play if I'm bored with everything else," Which won't happen soon cause of next months releases.

3DS in a whole - So Far i've played 1 game and that was StarFox3DS64 (or whatever...) and after that I can't really think of a lot of other games I want for it. I was thinking about picking up the 3D Dead or Alive just to get some play out of it and maybe that Pokemon Rumble game, but besides that I feel my 3DS is slowly moveing into "don't like" catagory.
[small]*is aware the 3DS is not a game*[/small]

Resident Evil 4

One or two badass moments can't make up for the rest of the mediocrity that I had to put up with. Also the controls were terrible.

So many this year alone...

LA Noire. I know this kind of got shit all over after real gamers got a chance to play it, but wow, the reviews really mislead me... not to mention the promotional material. Just so much freaking hand holding going on in this game. Worst part was it had so much obvious potential, just completely failed in excecution.

Human Revolution! Now, this was not by any means a *bad* game. In fact, it was pretty decent. As an FPS. As an RPG it was shallow shallow shallllllow crap. I finished every single side quest, hacked every computer, nearly maxed out my character, and it was about the length of a Halo campaign. MEH. Also, why was every review praising the "freedom" in this game???? Am I insane? THERE WAS NO FREEDOM! At least Invisible war let you choose which faction you wanted to side with. I mean, I wasn't expecting New Vegas levels of freedom, but jeeeezus, this was linear in the extreme.

El Shaddai. Not that big of a game, but it got some really good buzz and reviews. It was a turd.

That game was constructed exclusively out of bad ass moments. Also, play RE1 if you think the controls were bad. This game practically invented the modern 3rd person shooter control scheme.
