OK, now it's just getting ridiculous, "Hey guys I got an idea, lets not market our extremely high priced edition to the people who regularly spend hundreds of dollars to keep their system in working order", "That's a great idea, wanna go eat some shit?" "Do I ever!". Plus do we need to keep giving PC gamers the shaft with EVERYTHING?
This speaks the truth!
Who thought it was a good idea to alienate the PC gamers?
Probably the same people who decided that thought there needed to be an Alien Vs. Predator movie. Also Shadow what do you think of my new Avatar?
Quite badass good sir. May I ask if you took that yourself?
No. Found it somewhere, and you do realize whats on it right?
I can't tell. My guess would be Santa Claus, but that's a long shot.
It's Blade
I do believe I love you.
Seriously. That is hilarious.
Yeah but oliveira asked me to change it and his is a picture of Pete Townshend. I have no power over that.
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!! Meet the new Boss! Same as the old Boss!

Oh wait...

Yes the Gunslinger is more awesome than Blade in every possible way. And Blade on a Twilight picture is already awesome, so you know how badass the Gunslinger is.

My brother thinks the same way. He said he wants it for Christmas, and when my mom said no, and asked why he wanted night vision goggles, his answer was "Because they are fucking night vision goggles!" He has a brilliant point.

I was already going to buy my own set of night vision optics (good ones, unlike the one in the bundle) but still, I couldn't see the logic behind leaving out the PC audience when it comes to over priced merchendise.

Personally, I'm clinging to the hope that Infinity Ward [http://www.activision.com] finish. Hey, dare to dream, right?
Hell, in America you can get a free (semi-auto) AK-47 with your new truck.

Modern Warefare 2: Ultra Mega Edition isn't as as far away as you might think.

i wasn't going to buy the game unless steam made it it's weekend deal, and then, night goggles! i was so going to save up and get some night goggles and start my carrier as an cat burglar, and the worst thing is that if i had the night goggles i could just steal a PS3, but now i will never get them and never become a master criminal.

Seriously, they're denying themselves this money making opportunity? The article's right, PC gamers are more willing to spend more, and ChromeAlchemist put it well here:

Oh for- I'm starting to sound like a broken record now. They could have lowered the fucking piracy rate by bundling that, are they stupid?

Fuck you Activision. Nothing more needs to be said or discussed.
Seriously Activisiion, plenty of PC gamers would have wanted it.

Wait NVGs bundled with a game?... Just did a search, civilian NVGs cost from $150 to $400. Either you're getting some awesome specs with a free game!!:) or they're a total piece of crap. I'm guessing the latter because the former would only would only make sense if it was bundled with Bratz: Pretty Princess Ponyz or some other digital filth that they wanted to get out of the warehouse ASAP.

I seriously don't understand what is up with the recent trend of developers shafting PC gamers.
Ghostbusters having no multiplayer because they decided their resources were best spent on the console versions.
Absolutely horrendous control schemes in PC versions; example the latest Prince of Persia for the PC uses the symbols from the 360 controller in quicktime events, and the button mashing is insanely hard on a mouse.
Another example of piss poor controls, X-Men Wolverine Origins, in order to dodge a boss and not take damage on a charge you have to hit Left Shift, Z, and the correct direction to dodge in at the same time...
My patience with alot of PC ports is wearing thin.

Part of a lower cost could also be the fact that mass producing anything is cheaper. Normal nightvision goggles probably don't sell a ton and thus the price remains relatively high. But like you said they could just be a piece of crap.

We also have to pay 60 dollars instead of the regular 50. I mean I'm not complaining, but that's pretty dumb. I'm getting a bit sick of their money making schemes. They own World of Warcraft, for fucks sake. They are in no need of extra money.

No one is buying MW2 for singleplayer. I doubt it will be pirated too much
You're right. No one is buying MW2 for the single player.

They'll pirate it for the single player.

Jealousy. We PC gamers can't help it if we're just naturally witty, intelligent, and incredibly good looking.

It really does feel like game outlets are leading the way in shafting PC gamers. I know in Australia here there's next to nothing in the way of a range in most game outlets. And major variety stores tend to only have kids games, or the platinum editions, months after the initial release.
Console games, on the other hand, seem to only be going stronger - taking up more wallspace in any games outlet.

I'm really disappointed by the (apparent) decision to not release the super-mega-allyoucaneatwithaddedNVG's version to PC.
I know the NVG's will be cheap rubbish, with a very limited range and no real application to the real world, but combined with the bust of 'Soap', it would have been a nice feature for any PC gamer.

It's becoming less and less economical to release PC games. As PC game sales plummets to less than a quarter of consoles (and that high of a number is thanks primarily to the Sims 2 and 3 and WoW), and rampant piracy on the PC (not saying for or against, but it's a factor for sure), it's a wonder they didn't stop making games for the PC years ago, instead of just not releasing their ultra expensive vanity edition.

Singleplayer isn't too outstanding from what I've seen in the MW franchise. If you're pirating it for SP, at that point you must just be sticking it to the man.
Apparently you have absolutely no idea why most people pirate.

People pirate because they actually enjoy single player things and most games aren't worth the $50 just for the single player. It has nothing to do with sticking it to the man, it has everything to do with $50 not being worth most games single player.

It's because PC games actually sell well.

Do all of them? No, of course Shooty Shot 4: Low Budget Title isn't going to sell well. Of course sub-par games will remain unbought and pirated instead.

There's a reason why specific PC games top best selling charts over console. Because the market is simply larger than consoles. Just because a terrible game doesn't sell well doesn't mean that good games won't sell well. Even highly pirated games sell well (Sims, Spore, even WoW is highly pirated).

You'd be stupid to not capitalize on that. You'll probably notice that Capcom is doing a fine job of doing just that. They're not topping sales charts because they're not releasing major PC releases. They are, however, making tons of money off of those titles.

Also, sales charts don't typically count online sales from places like Steam. Steam has absolutely outstanding sales, and that's where the future of PC release titles are. On platforms like Steam.

Edit: I won't even mention how the announcement of Diablo 3 made an, at the time, 7 year old game break the sales charts of that week (or was it month? it was impressive). Can you say that the announcement of any console game has ever sparked that much interest in the other titles?

The PC platform is huge.
