People are stupid.
Stupid and ignorant, but yeah that about sums it up.
I wouldn't even say ignorant at this point since these people are clearly refusing to learn. They're just stupid.
Ignorance is a lack of knowledge, but deliberately choosing to remain without that knowledge is stupid, so they're both.

Anyone unable to search and install a greasemonkey script or unable to simply read a website was semi-banned from the internet today.

Natural selection at its finest.

So I got bored and did a bit of a tally on it. Out of 370 tweets:

68 thought it was shutting down forever;
7 blamed Obama for it;
10 blamed SOAP;
2 blamed SOFA;
4 were borderline incomprehensible;
and 1 blamed Mark Zuckerberg (?).

God help us if Facebook or Youtube tried this. While it would be an effective way to get support to a wider audience, every 13 year old girl in America would be rioting in the streets.

Wikipedia's down for one day! Why do they all think it's shut down forever? It's like the Y2K scare all over again. Also, the Obama administration seriously opposes these bills, so it's probably getting vetoed if it's even passed.

68 + 7 + 10 + 2 + 4 + 1 = 370? Or you only bothered to count that many out of 370?

Anywho! To be fair, when I posted this thread, the ones blaming Obama were at the top. Now they're around the middle I think.

Wow, there are just no words. If this is how they react to Wikipedia blacking out I can't even imagine how they'd react to Facebook or Twitter being shut down.

And also, most schools don't allow you to use Wikipedia as a source so idk what homework those people are doing -_-

I love how half the people are insulting Obama and the other half are insulting Wikipedia while saying they need it.

I think these people are trolls.

I mean, come on, even if you did have homework it's not hard to bypass the wikipedia blackout.
I just stop loading it before it loads the page, and vola, it's fine.
You could also use the mobile wikipedia.

Seriously, how do these people breath?
Nature finds a way
No, nature tried to find a way, but health care prevented it doing what it does best. KILLING OFF THE STUPIDEST HUMANS. so that it could then create the plant superrace that will eventually uproot and kill the rest of us, resulting in the ozone layer being reupholstered, insect populations to soar and giving rise to the next mammal superrace that will repeat the cycle. UNTIL THE END OF TIME.

If you didn't catch it, everything after the first sentence was just seeing how long you'd read...I see leaves at my door...

I'm afraid to ask, but are these people serious? Do they actually spell like that? I thought that was a joke making fun of the few people who do. I'm not sure whether or not to be ashamed of myself or my species.

I'm curious as to know why these people decided not to do some research about SOPA?
Isn't it obvious? The fact that these people "cannot pass school" without Wikipedia means that they're incapable of doing research in the first place.

What ever happened to Wikipedia being an illegitimate source for school essays - and being stated as such?

Ah yes, twitter: where intelligence is not only not expected but frowned upon. I'm sadly not surprised by this at all, there seems to be a lot of stupid teenagers who attribute god like powers to the president and therefore assume that anything that goes wrong is his fault, that's the American school system at work ladies and gentlemen.

Twitter has a character limit so people probably spell like that to get as much content as they can into one tweet. Granted I still barely have a grasp on how twitter even works.

I love how one person mentioned Google's name being blacked out but never bothered to click on the image which explains the whole thing and lets you sign a petition.

Whoever made the Herpderpedia account is a genius.

All those who tweeted about Wikipedia being down in sheer confusion or rage deserve to be chemically neutered.

*deep breath*

No, bad LEAM. Love and tolerance, love and tolerance, Hare Hare Krishna...

...

I give up. Sorry if that's insensitive, but it really is that stupid. Wikipedia's down for one heck of a good reason. If you can't see that, I can't help you.
