You misunderstand. I don't have a problem with pursuing romance options when playing a female character. I've done it before, and I see no reason to believe I won't do so again. It's just that I veer away from them when certain options available (or canonized) for a male PC appeal to me more. It's not so much an issue of 'difficulty' per-say, as would be simply my preferred pairing in what might as well be presented as a love-triangle.Fappy said:I think someone else also mention their inability to romance males while playing a females. My problem is that the standard male romances are usually so... boring? I don't know, maybe when I get into a female character's shoes I am looking for something in the romance options that they don't have because they aren't female (besides tits). Honestly though, that's just a role play limitation I have a problem getting over. I romanced Thane and Garrus because they were interesting and I wanted to see how they played out, though I am not entirely sure how much sense role play-wise the romances were for my Shepards.Asita said:You misunderstand. In my sisters DnD campaign I am currently playing a female Monk who is the first female tabletop character I have played (I DM a lot so I am used to roleplaying females). I was able to altogether avoid the issue of romance by stating she was a lawful good monk that took a vow of chastity.
Maybe some day I'll be able to role play a proper man-boning female, but for now I'll stick with the solo-act/lesbian relationships
I always alternate with my characters, first a guy, then a girl, etc. It really makes no difference to me since I more often than not don't actually role-play my character anyway. Most of the time gender is just cosmetic.

Only exception would be the draenei shaman i played in WoW, played a female draenei. It's the exception because in stead of it being a coolness thing, it was a hotness thing

Given a choice, I usually play as female characters myself. In stuff like Fallout, it doesn't make much difference though.
In Saints Row, it's kinda hilarious and awesome since the dialogue always seems to be written with a heavy dose of testosterone.

It depends, really. I think it's an aestetic question for me. All Skyrim-characters I've played for a respectable amount of time has been male, and most of them Khajiits. I don't know, I just think they really nailed the look, there.
However, my favorite combo in WoW is female tauren, particularly plate-classes. Mainly because they're one of the few WoW-ladies with sensible proportions, but also because they just look good. No, great. No, fantastic. Even more so decked out in matching plate armour.
But I doubt it really "counts", as the non-barbie thing means there's very few horny teenagers playing them, and thus reducing the whole stigma about it. Also, I suppose the gender-thing sort of goes out the window when you're a Death Knight...

Oh yeah, I know. A good friend of mine always plays female characters on F2P MMO's, because he's very good at flirting for cash shop items. So far he's racked up over $1000 in CS items and assorted steam games by doing that. Love him to bits, but...boag said:

Really don't understand why people complain about gender, insecurities of their own?
I quite fondly recall getting verbal abuse from other players I'd be smashing in a couple of competitive FPS from yesteryear; rude enquiries into why would I pick a female model? Was I a flaming homosexual? The truth is I quite enjoyed the slightly smaller models but the main reason was preferring to hear a female grunting and moaning in my ear whilst bunny hopping for hours on end and sustaining damage, instead of a male one. Who was the supposed gay one again, not that it really matters?

For some reason when gender is up in the air I pick a male character, I guess because it's supposed to be a roleplaying game. I tried a female character in New Vegas once, but something about how she walked bugged me, so I changed the gender when I got far enough away from goodsprings...it was kinda of awkward to load a file titled Elizabeth after that though.

One theory is that most of them revolve around the US military and while females are allowed to serve they ARE NOT permitted to serve as frontline soldiers. Fun fact a lot of people don't know about. Sounds sexist at first glance but I have heard very compelling arguments from men and women why this is actually a good thing. Not sure how I feel about it honestly.Wolfram01 said:
