ANYTHING is a drug to the immature mind, Pokemon, Cebeebies *shudder*.. in fact I shouldn't' need to give examples, literally ANYTHING is the equivalent to a drug, since all children are so easily entertained, they will go for the more repetitive things because it's more of the same good over

and over

and over

again.

But lets face it, better video games than being a crack addict...

"It's like I bought him his first shot of whiskey."

Yes, and you didn't teach him how to drink, if you want to continue this simile ludicrously. Would people please stop bitching about how Video Games are addictive and all that bullshit? Half the people who do smoke, and damn near everyone who does drinks. At least with video games you can tone it down from the furking beginning and keep this from happening. People are just too lazy to do any real work until it's too late, then they want something to blame it on. Video Games are no more addictive than half the crap you do, parents! Less so than a lot! Restrict time, watch what they play, and just try and be a good parent, for the love of god!

Though, I probably shouldn't be bitching about this on a gaming forum...

I prefer grinding up and snorting game discs as I complete them, but it's not like I'm addicted.

That's funny because I know someone who is a major coke addict and several people who are game addicts. Believe me the one guy is in a lot worse shape than the others.

Cool story bro, 4/5 under 10 year olds are now Al Pacino because of video games. Tell me something I don't know.

Seriously? Do these people get their degrees online or something?
My thoughts exactly. My family, from me to my little sister, my cousins, out parents, and even my grandmother have been playing games for -years- and going online and not one of us have suffered any sort of "addiction" to games. It's called a lack of parental involvement and on the behalf of the adults, a stunning, frightful lack of maturity.

Oh ************....even the producer of GTA agrees with everyone on this forum BLAME THE FUCKING PARENTS! People just keep on getting dumber and dumber by the second. Oh well good thing that I'll be dead before everyone in America becomes dopey shitheads OR that I just leave the country and go to the Netherlands, the economy is already buttfucked anyways cause people have been living a lie of a life.

Because the parents are dumb? Actually get rid of that question mark, it's the truth.

Jesus, these games have rating for a reason. If you buy it for your child and they are below the said age rating, then you pay the consequences.

If you are over the given age, then it all comes down to self control and disipline
If you lack these qualities, then you don't deserve the right to purchase a game if you're going to moan about being addicted..

But talk about using games as a scape goat..it all comes down to the parents.

I know some people who ARE addicted to video games, and it will happen if you play on it for too long. I always use the computer or go on a console at least once a day, and I do get a bit pissed if I go off for too long ( a day or two, nothing extreme )

But this guy is talking out of a pair of bollocks growing out of his arse hole. If it were as addicting as cocaine, do you think:
A) The government would allow it? I mean you only have to mention drugs over there and you get attacked. Remember that guy who was fired for saying weed was less harmful than cigerettes or alchohol?
B) The parents would buy them? If I had a child I wouldn't want people to sell him a console that is as bad to the brain as a Class A drug.

What a twat.

The kid plays Call of Duty 4 or MW2. That pretty much sums it up right there, he's not addicted, he's mentally unstable.
The online community for MW 2 are just fucking psycopaths, and they really shouldn't be playing a game like Call of Duty.

Well lets look at this logically shall we:

Of course it will raise dopamine levels, like anything else that's fun it should. And obviously after you do something fun you'll want to do it again later. This is a natural production of dopamine the way nature/god intended it. By this logic sports, television, socialization, music etc. should be illegal because by this definition they are all equally as addictive. The only reason why videogames are getting a bad rap is because they're new and scary. Once people learn that this whole debacle will just go away.

It has been scientifically proven that pooping a live human out your vagina makes you stupid, true story.
