Is this the same story from months ago resurfacing or a different incident?

I think Ice T sums up my sentiments here, but I'll let Rage take it away instead...

1. They pepper sprayed him twice. Why twice.

2. Why does EVERYONE seem to forget they have this thing called physical bodies? Jesus Christ, you're probably an upwards of 5 9 man who is presumably quite strong compared to an 8 year old, figure your shit out.

Seriously, my reaction as a teacher would be to call other school staff to help, not the fucking police.

FFS. A kid throws a tantrum and it's pepper spray time?

What next? Tazer a kid that goes on about wanting "THAT TOY!!!".

This is just out of control.

What's the problem, a slap across the eyes too "old school" ? Too inhumane ? But chemical-effing-warfare is all good, sooo civilized.

What's next? VX for ADD sufferers that go a-trippin.

Slap that little brat across the mouth and put him in a corner. It's not like we're talking about a mafia muscle running amok. It's a petulant child.

Seriously, it's incidents like this that show the terrorists won on 9/11 . Kid throws tantrum ? OMFG call the cops!! Quickly, the SWAT team! AHHH the screaming, it's melting my brains! Make it stoooop!

...

Wow, Western Society is so (sarcasm) resilient.

Yeah... he completely deserved it. When the only defense is going from structure to free back to structure you're not going to get a whole lot of sympathy from people, everyone goes through that every day, yet we don't feel like acting like cavemen. We go fuck yeah time for a break then go relax. Maybe next time they will play some tazer tag with him.

Jusified, better than the boot to the face he'd have gotten from most people.

The kid was trying to KILL two people. I think they would have been justified if they snapped his arms and legs.
Criminal behavior is criminal behavior. If he is old enough to corner two adults and tell them he is going to kill them, he is old enough to get pepper sprayed. It's amazing how back in the day there didn't need to be special schools for children who have nothing mentally wrong with them (according to the boy's doctors). The kids has been missing a few behavior lessons somewhere along the line and if pepper spray works to keep him under control I would add that to my desk drawer if I am his new teacher.

I suspect also his home life doesn't have much structure or he would know that when play time is over it's over. In my day I would be luck if the pepper spray is all that happened to me. The kid has clearly been allowed to behave this way and it's the Mother/Father that need training not the police force.

Pepper spray is excessive force. Two police officers can easily dispatch an eight year old with a stick.

They should of just put two in his brain pan and done society a favor. With the direction he's heading by corralling teachers in an office and threatening their lives if they come out that's going to be the likely future outcome anyhow. They really ought lock this little sociopath up up now before he does end up hurting someone.

By the sound of the mother she sounds like she's partially to blame for this as well. Her kid is a danger to himself and others and her failure as a parent seems like a good place to start pointing the finger. I wonder if she will still be making excuses for him when he finally seriously injures or kills someone.

Teachers aren't allowed to touch kids any more. If a teach lays their hands on a kid, a shit storm follows. It is probably district policy to call the police if there is a fight or anything like that so the teachers don't get sued.

Yes and adult could have beaten the shit out of the kid, but pepper spray works faster and safer. In this age of litigation pepper spray is the right choice.

THIS is how you deal with these instances of "jerk" rather than "criminal"

What do 5 fingers say to the face? ... Correct!

No need for freaking fascist state pepper sprays, tazers and whatnot.

Does no one think this kid probely has a mental disorder of some sort
Yes, I do. Some sort of mental or emotional problem. I don't really care which one mind you. But he definitely has something wrong with him.

America is far from a fascist state. Try again.

What kind of stick was it? Was it really sharp, because if it wasn't you just need one big cop to charge the boy, grab and separate both arms, and shout: "You WILL calm down, you little twat." I mean come on it's an eight year old with a stick against a group of police officers. Stop being sissys and overpower that misbehaving child.

If he were wielding something sharp then maybe the kid did need some pepper.

I'm pretty sure if the case is "A kid was throwing chairs, so I grabbed him." wouldn't cause too much of a shitstorm. Personally, I would care a bit more about the health of everyone involved than of what the media said about me. Also, why does everyone assume that you have to beat the shit out of an 8 yr old? It's possible to just grab people.
Note, I'm not really against this case, as they actually used a non-lethal weapon. It just brought to mind all the other cases where police seemed to forget there was a grab them option.

The police used non lethal force on a suspect that could, potentially at least, have injured or killed someone else. Yeah its justified. If they had shot the kid it would be different but they didn't. This should not be an issue at all.

I smell bullshit when he was asked about what he did when he was asked to put the stick down at about 4:30
i dont just smell it, i see it, there is no way he would have behaved passively if he was as angry as otherwise indicated. and I know something about how raging people act from personal expierience. besides he seems to have some serious issues if he previously threw a fit that warranted a 911-call, so i say it was justified.
