I love the taste of Margaritas. With salt, please.

I love the many mudslidey-milkshakey Kahlua-based[footnote]That's Kahlúa-based for those who have the right character set[/footnote] drinks out there.

Unfortunately, one or two drinks will tidily knock me out and make me feel crappy in the morning.

So I drink very little at all, typically champagne, toasting somebody's wedding, or the new year. And I tend not to drink more than an inch.

Caffeine and games are my drugs of choice.

Sometimes I just have a few beers with friends for the taste.

I once got really drunk 2 years ago. And I will never want to be that way again. So usually I just drink 3-5 beers and call it a day.

I drink because my friends drink. When they get tipsy, they get annoying when I'm sober. Its not fun to be around drinkers when you aren't one yourself.

I don't drink because the taste of alcohol (that is, the "sting" or "strong" taste that is at the core of most drinks and is what "connects" things like beer, wine or whiskey that otherwise wouldn't taste the same at all) is disgusting to me.

That and I don't like how people act when they're drunk, so I don't even go to bars or things like that anyway...

I drink at parties, or when I'm socialising with friends. It's a social lubricant, helps me relax and means I'm spending more time having fun and getting to know people rather than being uptight, anxious or too shy to get to know people.

Beyond that, it feels good and it tastes good, so why not?

Depending on the situation and how I'm feeling, it can be any of them except the alcoholic option and the never option.

I drink in social situations, that is, whenever me and my friends go and play pool I will have a beer or two. A lot of people say they don't like the idea of not being in control but with myself personally I find that I am far more relaxed and less uptight after a few beers than I am normally. I only get drunk when I go out with my flatmates to clubs (I am at uni after all).

I drink purely for recreational use, I never drink to cope with stress or other life problems. I think that doing so wouldn't help me solve the problem, or cope with the problem either, I think I'd end up at the bottom of a well and struggle to get out if i did drink to cope with a problem.

I might be the only person I know of irl that has literally no intention of ever drinking alcohol. Same with Drugs and Smoking.

I Don't really care if that makes me boring, or the Reincarnation of Buzz Killington from Family Guy, I mean if my associates feel like using the aforementioned, then fine, as long as they don't drag me into it.

Hey, I was going to say that!

Now I can only add that I also don't like the price of alcohol. 5 Euros for a drink? Fuck it, I can have orange juice for half the price and it's even going to taste better and not make me a total ass!

I only drink drinks that taste good. Beer is way out the window and even wine I very rarely consider. Spirits I only have on their own if they taste alright (eg. Bailey's but only in small amounts) otherwise I have basic spirits with ginger ale (mostly because it removes the taste of alcohol) and any other spirits I'd only really have in cocktails. Seriously, I find most soft drinks more enjoyable, mostly because they don't have alcohol in them! :p However, I can't go past a good Scotch or Brandy, perfect way to end an evening!

I held back from drinking until I was 18, partially to show everyone it could be done, partially because I had no care for it anyway and partially because I have no wish to get drunk off my face for the sake of itself or because everyone else is. I was thoroughly surprised and relieved to find that most people here actually don't drink or at least certainly don't drink for its own sake. However, I fear we Escapists may consist of some of the more level-headed people of society...

I drink to power my fuel cells, obviously.
And we have a winner.

Personally, I don't have anything to do with the stuff. If I wanted to ingest poison, I'd get someone to pay me for it, not the other way around.

That is because the initial effects of alcohol are just that. Unfortunately, people believe that if they drink more it'll feel better, and that's when they lose control. Some people know they're like this and don't drink, others don't care and do it anyway. I've drunk heaps of times and I've never once gotten drunk. Hell, I seemed more drunk at a friends party where I only drank soft drink than I did at another party where I actually drank a couple years later!

OT: Kudos for knowing your limit and enjoy alcohol they way it should be!
