If you buy a game based on a beta then I would hardly call that smart.Dreadman75 said:Maybe some of the people who pre-ordered played the beta, like me, were legitimately impressed be it and made their decision based on that. Unlike so many games with pre-order bonuses this one actually let people play it beforehand to see what the game was like. I played the beta, thought it was incredibly fun and pre-ordered based on that. What right do you have to say that decision is stupid? None, it's their money, their decision. I personally view pre-orders as completely optional, if I like the bonus I'll go for it, if I don't I won't. It also has a lot to do with faith in the game's developer. I have faith in Bungie to deliver a quality experience. If you don't, or just hate pre-orders, then that's your problem. But don't try to shame people because they have different buying habits than you.
The fact remains that pre-ordering games is POINTLESS in a digital era. The entire reason pre-ordering came around was so that people could get their hands on a product before it sold out. See Playstation 4, now there's something you had to pre-order well in advance or risk waiting a very long time.
But pre-ordering videogames? Seriously? What benefit does it give you BESIDES the pre-order bonus, a bonus that exists entirely to entice you to pre-order the game to begin with?
Like I said, it's a poisonous state of mind. Doesn't matter if you trust the developer or how much you were blown-away by the beta, just hold off clicking the "purchase" button until the game releases. Will it kill you? Do you risk anything by doing that? Is it too much to ask?
