A good way that I have been fighting this problem is using extended mags on CoD, with a LMG. Or playing Bad Company, and using their LMGs. I can kill more people in one go.

Not only do I reload whenever my magazine (or is it called a "clip"?) isn't full, but if I see ammo lying around I'll fire off a couple rounds just to pick it up.

I'm shying away from it, there are so many times where i will kill an enemy or two, reload, and in that exact moment that i hit the reload button two more enemies come around the corner in which i could have unloaded those last 10 bullets or so into them to at least get one of them.

(wow wtf, firefox didn't have the word "could" in it's dictionary..)

I will reload if I have beaten a group of enemies, like in "Resident Evil 4" I will kill a group of Ganados and afterwards I will reload. I cannot run around without a full clip. It annoys the hell out of me if I watch someone play and they are running around with like 5 bullets in their clip and they can have a maximum of 15 or something. It jut bugs me.

Not only am I a compulsive reloader, I also have trouble in games like Red Orchestra. I dont want a clip left over with 11 rounds in it. I actually prefer to empty the whole clip (Chalk it up to suppressive fire) just so I know that I have mags with a full 30 rounds in them.

Lucky for me most games dont model jamming, or I would be sitting down and cleaning my weapon after every kill too.

I can't remember as it's been a while but didn't "Condemned" let you pick up discarded mags?

But yeah, I can't stand the automatic reload when you empty a clip, it seems to take so much longer than if you do it manually even though the animation is exactly the same, so I always manually reload when I reach around 4 or 5 left in a clip.

Side note: does anyone else feel that way or is it just me? It always seems to take so much longer and whenever an automatic reload comes up it's always at exactly the wrong moment.

Can't stop myself. It's muscle memory at this point.

Shoot gun, reload the moment my finger lifts from the trigger.

In cod: I always reload when i kill enemy (if im not seeing another one ofc.) It has be come automatic thing for me, and yes, somethimes it might cost my life. But these days i have started to avoid peoples bullets while reloading by drop-shotting (quick crawl to make bullets go over me) which gives me enought time to finish my reaload and shoot my enemy.

In any other shooters: I'll just reaload when i have time and theres no enemies around.

A lot of the time, my play style ends up with me using guns that either have extremely small clips or clips that empty really fast. As a result, I've gotten into the habit of reloading whenever I go into cover (in both 1st and 3rd PSs)

Yes. After every engagement, minor or otherwise, I will reload my weapon. Even in a large combat situation, I will often hide behind cover after every kill or so just to reload.

yeah ALWAYS.. Usually get killed because of it, but I'd rather have a full mag than have not enough.
