Yes... but I only reload when it's safe. So I'm not a totally compulsive reloader.

Always. Even if I shot one bullet. I always try to have a full clip. Sometimes I'm so used to it that I'll reload with an enemy in the room and end up dying because you can't stop them from reloading.

Haha, glad to know that I'm not the only one here. Yes, I compulsively reload but I think its getting better for me this crippling disease.

I prefer to empty my entire clip so I have X-number of clips left as oppose to X-number of clips and 10 bullets. This usually leads to me dying or shooting a wall to waste ammo to have round clips.

I used to, I manage to make it so I would remember to reload only if I have below 3/5 of the amount of ammo in my magazine/clip. I cannot tell you the amount of times I have died because I decided to reload after a few shots.

Yes...

A while back, I was playing MW2..... I kept getting shot in the nuts because I kept reloading....after I killed a guy while not realzing his teammate is BEHIND HIM.

I like reloading to the point at which I'll run around holding down R and m1 just to reload constantly. I am not joking.

Led to some serious issues when I started playing Natural Selection, since reloading there takes a day or so and backup weapons are puny.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "compulsive" but I have a real aversion to walking around without a full magazine.

Another reason why I like shotguns in FPS games- usually the reaload time is proportionate to how many shells you need to put in and often it'll let you interrupt loading to fire.

yes and it messes with me usually I have a rifle or smg you know something with a box magazine that only takes a second to reload but on the odd occasion that I am using a MG with 100 or 200 rounds I still reload after only a few rounds taking up several seconds and getting me killed.

I always do that, and can't help it, so i just figured for black ops i'd throw sleight of hand on, and i never get caught reloading anymore

I've trained myself not to do this. Well, I say that, and I still do it, but I am aware of the problem and am training myself to consider the tactics of it each time. Halo is horrible for this; it even has medals for killing people reloading so it makes you think about it a bit more.

Yes, and I always like to have my ammo topped off when I can help it. I even have auto-reload enabled in TF2 so my 'r' key doesn't break.

Yep, I reload as soon as I let my finger off the trigger. And if I see someone not reloading in this manner, I can't help myself to not reach over and press the reload button for them.

EDIT: Of course I meant "as" not "ass"

I mostly play medic in BFBC2, so I've sort of learned to curb my enthusiasm. I still obsessively reload in almost every other game. Even in games where you don't have to reload, I press R, and it usually does something very different.

I've learned myself to only reload when no enemies are in sight after the one I just killed. It's still a risk though, if a heavily armored juggernaut comes at me guns blazing which requires a full clip to take down I'm screwed with that tactic.
It's not that I use this method on every game though. Other games need other tactics.

Assuming where talking about a weapon with 30 rounds in the mag and there's no recycling mag system in the game, then I'll only consider reloading if I'm under 20 rounds.
As an added bonus,it forces me stop spraying and praying with a full mag,and makes me take shots more carefully.

I overrule this habit of mine when using round by round reloading shotguns, where I can easily stop if an enemy pops up,and with other weapons that require constant fire, such as flamethrowers and continuous laser-like weapons.

As long as there's a split second, I always top myself off, thanks to accumulative ammo, else I'd be taking three shots, throwing out a 95% full clip. I like to be 100% prepared. I almost NEVER burn through a full clip, unless, you know it's the shitty assault rifles in fallout 3.

Although... I was one of those weirdos that spent the entire final mission of fallout 3 looting all the tesla armour and plasma guns, thinking I'd pick it up later
