360, it's basically the reason I own a 360 and not a PS3. The PS3 controller is just too small and pointy for my large hands. It's not comfortable.

Most of the older ones are nice, as long as they're not pointy like the NES.

I've only used consoles, and I've enjoyed the 360 controller much more. I'm sure if I grew accustomed to the keyboard it would be much better for tight controls though.

My PS3 controller with RealTriggers is great for me, and is probably my favorite.

I like all the controllers equally except the 360 controller... its way to heavy and fat feeling

Mouse and keyboard are definably the best, however out of the consoles I like the 360 controller better.

There should have been an option for the PS2 controller. I liked that. If Sony had just made it wireless for the PS3 w/o changing the R2/L2 buttons squishy my vote wouldn't have been 360.

I'm a predominantly console gamer and don't own a Wii (yet) so that narrows it down to a choice between the PS3 and 360 controllers. Between those 2 I prefer the 360 controller for a few reasons:

1: Familiarity, I have owned a 360 longer than a PS3 and am more comfortable with the controller
2: Triggers, I really like the concave 360 triggers and feel they are much easier to use than the convex PS3 Triggers.
3: Size, I can use a 360 controller for hours but after using a PS3 controller for the same amount of time my hand gets tired due to the lack of space between the handles and buttons.

Nothing compares to the accuracy and control of a mouse and keyboard. It's my preference whenever possible.

Console Favorite: GameCube. Best placement of buttons and analog sticks. I really liked the 8 'corner' points on the analog sticks.

Familiarity & Convenience: Small, lightweight, USB/Bluetooth, motion sensing all in one controller. Plus it has been around for 3 generations (old xbox didn't even last 1)

Size: I use an old Logitech Wingman Cordless Rumblepad alot. It's big, but I have big hands. It was revolutionary for its time. The "throttle control" can be useful on some games.

Potential: poor shoulder buttons/triggers, imprecise d-pad, and the awkward battery pack ruin the 360 controller for me.

PS3, the 360 controller is just bloody massive designed for someone with much larger hands than I have and I'm so used to console controllers whenever I try to play say an fps with a mouse and keyboard I overaim so wildly I miss virtually every time. And I don't have a wii.

Probably has something to do with the fact I've been playing playstations since the PS1 days and the controllers have hardly changed.

You put the Wii-mote? Yuk!

Mouse and Keyboard easily with the Gamecube controller close behind. I choose for total control, more options and comfort.

I prefer the 360 controller, as it's big enough for the hands of a reasonably proportioned human. The triggers are actually triggers, and I don't feel like it'll break if I drop it. The only real flaw I see in it is the D-pad, but everyone knows about that.

The Wiimote is fine for motion games and most first party games, but the only game I've played where the Wiimote seems like the best controller option is Resident Evil 4:Wii Edition. I just find the motion aiming more accurate that that friggin laser sight. But, the only reason that game works is because it's a third person shooter.

I have used the PS3 controller, but only for a few hours of gameplay on MW2. I know that's not enough to fairly judge the controller, but it's better than no play time. I found it too small, fragile, and it doesn't have real triggers, just buttons on the shoulders.

The AsciiPad for the SNES. More ergonomically pleasant than the standard SNES paddle, and its Turbo/Auto functionality are near-requisite for any serious excursions into RPGs.

Toss-up between mouse and keyboard and 360 gamepad, which I don't think you can really directly compare anyway. The wiimote always feels really imprecise, and I hate the L2 and R2 half trigger half button things on the PS3 controller, although I'm sure I'd get used to them if I owned one.

The Gamecube controller is probably the best there is in my opinion, but the 360 controllers are pretty good too.

A rather foolish poll, comparing console controllers / gamepads is all well and good, but a mouse and keyboard is on a whole different level. (That said, I'm surprised how even the poll is PC[86] - 360[86] atm).

Anyways, contrary to most people, I prefer a gamepad for my shooters. Sure, a mouse and keyboard is more effective, but point and click along with tapping keys has no "feel" to it, while when using a gamepad I can get way more into it and really feel "in the action". The same goes for flying games and racing games. For everything else (RTS, TBS, etc..) mouse and keyboard all the way.

And for gamepads, the 360's is my controller of preference so far in life.
