Theres an option on the poll missing "I hope so"
because thats how I feel, I personly think in the world today no one
believes in anything unless science says its true, and thats slightly sad
because we all need something to believe in.

I saw a documentary about this before. Portrayals of dragons transferred from the east with the traditional eastern-style dragon, started transforming across Persia, and eventually became the dragon picture familiar to westerners. I can't remember exactly how it went, but it was a fairly simple explanation. Ideas like these travel all the time.

Sorry no, I've never heard of such A work. My adaptation of Dragons come's from the book "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss. In which the "Draconis" are tree eating animals and produce the flames for mating purposes.

Incidentally one the best fantasy books I've read in recent times; I'd call it a modern day LOTR if I thought any fantasy book could rightly be compared with Tolkien's master piece. In his books dragons often guard treasure and engage in conversations with invisable hobbit burglars
And you, too, should watch "Dragon's World". I suspect you'd like it. :D

No. There have been no bones found of any such creature. We have fossil records up the ass of things tens of millions of years ago, and humans have only been around as Homo Sapien for a few hundred thousand years. In fact, Cro Magnon, Homo Sapien, is from around 34,000 years ago. Written records can only exist dating back to around 4000 BC, and even then, for short time thereafter, only in Mesopotamia. However, records may be found in drawings far beyond that time period, but obviously those depictions may be often exaggerated. If a creature did exist at such sizes at depicted in myths, and it lived around 4000 BC-around AD 1500, we would have found fossils.

Sea monsters appeared in many mostly unrelated cultures, and those certainly do not exist. Why are dragons different?

I believe something resembling a dragon should have existed, although I find it pretty hard to believe the big ones could fly .. and I'm pretty sure fire breath is out of the question

Yes, it is true that at some point, in certain situations dragons could have existed, though they would have been closer to the size of a pigeon. Oh and fire breath would have been out of the question, that sort of evolutionary jump is like a dog with wheels

Could a creature like a dragon have developed on earth? Yes, but they never did, at least not at a time that would coincide with human records.

No is my answer to the question, you know when I was saw this I was just thinking back to Middle School when the most made fun of person at my school was a guy who honestly 100% beleived in dragons and openly admitted it several times he also said he had one and that we couldn't see it because we didn't believe weird coincidence.

I shall do that then, anywhere on the internet that is broadcasting it for free? Since I'm at uni at the moment my excess to a TV is severely limited

I think it's possible, despite being somewhat unlikely. I really haven't done much research into the topic, so I can't speak on it, but I most likely will now as you've sparked my curiosity.

Yes, it is possible they could have existed. It is interesting how much mythology has developed around them.
