DK's are amazingly over powered. I actually dedicated myself to one and whilst im 70 now (Stfu im not a hardcore wow nerd) there are a lot less DK's as you progress out of Hellfire. But even so, With my Death Knight, not even geared with many blues at all, i can easily kill elites equal to or above my level with little difficulty. Blizzard should really nerf Death Knights, however much it hurts me.
Not impressive. I could take one in direct combat, two with a bit of kiting and three using my fiftythousandminutesxetothepowerofatrillion minute cooldowns.

It's overpowered I have to agree, but look at the palladins and mages! A palladin took out my lvl 80 t7 friend with 5, EXACTLY 5, hits. And mages can take you out in 2 hits max.

...kill WoW? Erm, no. I don't play WoW, but given the number of subscriptions for WoW are STILL rising, I'd have to say it's not killing WoW.

I'd say they are overpowered, more so from 60-80, less so at 80.
Its not like they don't have their weaknesses though.
My protection paladin can quite easily beat down a DK, and I don't even have to use my 'oh shit' buttons (shielding / Lay on Hands) to do it.

I don't like the overabunance of them; its hard to get a group to anywhere without at least 2 members being DK's, and I just think there are better classes to have around.

Bottom line; DK's are overpowered, but a skilled player can get around this.
In fact, thats just WoW in general. If you bring skill to a fight, you stand a much greater chance of winning over a less skilled oponent, regardless of its class and any advantages it might have over you.

Each expansion will release a new hero class. One based on every class.
Each more over powered then the next.

Because they are assholes now.

I play an unholy DK (full epic, using Armageddon), but yeah, the DK class is overpowered and need a nerf, and they are getting somewhat of a nerf in next content patch, blood is getting nerfed but unholy is getting buffed (increased Gargoyle dmg).

Blizz really needs to fix their balancing issues, i've been playing WoW for about 3 years and it has never been balanced, always 1 class that is imba and 1 class that sucks.

Blizzard is milking you out of your money.... ZOMFG BREAKING NUS!!!!

No, really... What do you honestly think.. "hay guyse, we're gonna release a totally new and stupid broken hero class....we might release some new ones soon too!".

I'm just guessing but I foresee that when everyone buys the expansion and rerolls death knight because of how broken they are, Blizzard will suddenly mention they've been working on another hero class... Which I'm gonna guess will be even more broken for a while... Just a guess.
LIES! thats no guess....

Also, no-one seems to have mentioned this, they're a DPS class, like every other class in the game can be, so if you're going DK, don't expect to be in huge demand in groups.

Warriors, Paladins and Druids can tank better than DKs.
Priests, Paladins, Druids and Shamans can all heal. (ignoring the small self heals DKs have.)
As for DPS, I'm not sure how Rogue, Mage, Hunter and Warlock DPS stacks up against them, but at least they all have some crowd control abilities, I'm not sure what the DK is bringing to the group apart from 'me hit fings hard'.

I'm no expert, as the above probably shows, I have one of each class on the go, mostly between 60-70.

They're not so bad. Also, I still believe that anyone who bemoans the "good old days" of 40-man raids never actually raided MC and BWL until their eyes bled. WoW is so much better now than it was pre-BC.

Not quite. My main's an 80 frost spec mage... I can't PvP for crap because frost is designed for PvE. I can only do any damage if I've got a group with me like in a BG and even then there's a good chance I'll be mauled by a pally or rogue before I can blink.

Yes DKs are overpowered but only in the right hands. Myself, I'm not the greatest at PvP so I can't really do much even with a class that's quite powerful. I could roll a ret pally and I'd still suck.

WoW was NOT ruined by the DK and those that insinuate that the expansions/new class have are just being rather narrow minded towards the whole situation. I however haven't been playing my DK much since he got to level 71 and have instead begun leveling a druid as I'm sick of mining. xD

In this topic, people don't like change, and wow changes over time.

Perhaps they should have done what they did with Diablo and offer 'classic' servers.

Maybe if there was WOW, TBC, and WOTLK servers, everyone would be happy, but...I doubt it.

Yannow there is such thing as Classic Raiding Guilds? Just buy the game and don't bother to get any expansions.

I love the deathknight because I love tanking, but the problem is too many people playing it. Because of COURSE they would. I think if it gets to some point where only Death Knight enthusiasts play them, it will be better.

The nature of the MMO is that in PvP there will NEVER (let me repeat that in case you're deaf) NEVER be complete balance.

If balance were achieved one class or another would whine until they got some ability that tipped the scales again and we'd be back to where we are now.

I don't think the DK will "kill" WoW. It's such a monster that I don't think anything can...

But yes they are overpowered, but I think it's just a matter of time for everyone to get used to it.. to even things out again... no matter how well they have planned the new class (and in this case, probably not all that well) there will be some unforseen things to fix.

WoW has been imbalanced and terrible for 4 years, and honestly, everything about PvP from WotLK reminds me why I don't play it.

WoW was killed a long time ago, but it will be popular forever (which is not necessarily a bad thing.)

They lose a few customers to gain many. Also, no one will make the realization you did for a while, so eh.

Death Knights were always a terrible idea, and their implementation is just plain wrong.

Yes as far as I hear it's overpowered but kill WoW? Let's get one thing straight... nothing can easily kill WoW, half the fanbase would stay even if all you did was run around Ironforge and Undercity for 10 hours... The only thing that could easily kill WoW is if Blizzard released WoW2.

I was going to say this. Burn, World of Warcraft, burn!
Sorry couldn't resist but

As for the matter at hand, the whole concept of hero classes is absurd in my opinion, surely Blizzard should've have seen that loads of people would roll them, they do everything and are piss to "unlock". Itl be interesting if they continue these "heroes" in their next expansion. (cringes at the thought of level 90 and all those lost souls that will grind to get it)
