Game play is not as important as graphics, length, re playability, story, and plot pacing. Most games play the same. There aren't many ways you can play a game. Sure it might look different on the screen, but you still have to use a controller. The Wii has different game play but sacrifices everything else which is sad because Nintendo used to be smarter than that. Having a 10-15 hour Mario game is not fun, it's a tedious bore.
Graphics are so important that I can't play a game unless it has some stellar graphics. Hands down the game with the best graphics is Metal Gear Solid 4. If that game had crap graphics, I wouldn't had been able to get through it. Also the story, plot pacing, optional length, extra features, and re playability make MGS4 a classic. Gameplay is the same as it was years ago, simple and easy.
The main reason why I can't get into the Wii is that the focus on gameplay is a trick that makes you look stupid if you fall for it. Gameplay? Dude on the screen, the characters do the same things they did years ago like jump, run, and hit stuff. And then the graphics suck, the length is the same, most of their games have no story or plot, and re playability is gonna be crappy if the graphics suck cause why would I want to look at it? If you are a cheap bastard, then go play that Wii. It's like smoking weed.
