I like a wide(ish) range of music, from metal to country, from jazz to dubstep.
While I may not venture very deeply into some genres (I'm getting into dubstep and more Avante-Garde music), I tend to like most of them.

Can I consider myself a metal fan if I liked 90% of Brutal Legend's soundtrack?

If so, I enjoy metal...and grunge...and classic rock (most loosely defined genre ever)...and modern rock...and gangsta 90s rap...and classic 80s rap...and alt rock in general...and funk.

Well yeah. I enjoy all music that is true. Music that isn't just there for the sound, like bullshit ''metal'' like korn, slipknot, lamb of god, dimmu borgir and all that.
Personally my favourite genres are old school metal, black metal, thrash metal and doom metal. The non-metal genres I enjoy are:

Bebop
Bossa
Jazz
Pagan folk music
some pop
dubstep
old school rnb
motown
and lots more, but this is just off the top of my head.

As a musician myself, I enjoy anything that has a musicial quality to it, except classical. I hate it like noob metal. I have a reason to hate it, but I'd rather avoid the discussion, so unless you really want to discuss it insightfully, please don't start a quote fight.

Many people fail to see how 90's and 80's rap is awesome, and actually relates a lot to thrash metal in the whole feeling of the music. You are not a bad person.

Yeah most definitely. While I do enjoy some Megadeth or Slayer, every now and again its good to listen to some classic rock, acoustic guitar and (if I'm with my friends) rap.

Only genre I cannot understand is rap. Even some pop is good but no rap is.

I used to listen to only metal, but then I figured I was restricting myself from enjoying other types of music.

Nowadays I listen to everything from Michael Bolton to dubstep.

I'm a fan of metal.
I'm also a fan of classical, alternative, jazz etc.
The reason: I like MUSIC. I don't restrict myself to certain genres.

I enjoy a bit of metal, but I also enjoy a lot of acoustic, some blues, a bit of classical (Beethoven anyone?), even a slice of folk music and I've recently started getting into post-rock.

I'm a huge metal fan, but my record collection includes classical music, some pop records I would rather stay hidden, jazz records, and even some drum and bass tracks. I know that a lot of people only listen to metal, and each to their own with restricting music tastes, but I believe that good music will be good regardless of its genre.

Metal i like : Metallica, System of a Down, Kamelot, Rage Against the Machine
Rage against the Machine isn't really metal.

Edit: Oh, yeah the actual thread ^^;
um, I don't tend to care what genre the music is. I prefer metal (particularly prog metal) because some metal can be "lighter" and some is "heavier". With genres such as soft rock and rock/roll and such, everything tends to sound the same.

I am a heavy metal fan, but I also enjoy classicals by Beethoven, Vivaldi, and Dvorak. I also enjoy some folk music (not to be confused with country, that isn't music) and techno.

...in middle school, I was a metalhead who refused to see the value in any genre that didn't feature distorted, blistering guitar solos. I grew out of that phase around age 15. Being 30 now, I can confidently say I enjoy music of every major genre. I'm still primarily a metal fan, but I'm not opposed to some bluegrass (which could technically be considered "country"), actual 70s R&B, some late 70s-early 80s rap, and a lot of modern techno... including some trance(dance/rave genre covered).
Those are my most extremely deviant examples. I'm also a huge fan of classic rock (which could be considered early 70s pop music, another genre covered), grunge, modern alt rock, hardcore punk, classical symphony (Sergei Rachmaninoff is the great-great grandfather of speed metal), modern symphony, and industrial.

I'm a massive metalhead, and I'm constantly on the lookout for new incarnations of my favourite genre of music. I'm also a guitarist in a band and I've focuse my learning of the instrument towards the performance of heavy metal in it's most extreme forms.

That being said, I come from a classical music background, and also listen to so many other styles it would be hard to post them all here.
