I've rarely met any metalhead that isn't 14 that doesn't like other genres.

Although metal is probably my favourite genre (If you can't tell from the avatar), I also love blues, punk, rock, ska, reggae, a little bit of hip hop and jazz. The only things I really steer clear from is the general charts pap, orchestral music (if you're wondering, power metal does little for me either) and country (even most Johnny Cash. The best stuff he did was play other people's songs).

I like some older pop-punk, alternative rock (a la Smashing Pumpkins), some jazz, some classic rock, hell, some songs I've gotten from being in a wind ensemble are incredible.

I like a nice mix of mostly everything.

I think it's worth noting I tend to stray from the more extreme metal though.

Progressive Rock. If you like Metal and can get past the fact that most of the songs aren't about demon swords, you'll love the guitar work.

I do, but Metal and its subgenres is still my favourite by a long shot. I also like Punk Rock, Ska, Rock n' Roll, Psychedelic and whatever genre(s) you care to class The Beatles in.

My main musical genre of interest is Metal so I would call myself a Metalhead but I'm not ashamed to admit I like a fair few bits from Country, Pop, RnB and other stuff. I grew up on a lot of music which is considered cheesy pop music of the 90's so I'm not ashamed to go crazy when I hear it in a club but I can also throw the horns for a bit of Metallica!

I love Metal.
I also love Rap, Country, Industrial, a little bit of everything, really.
I'm more discriminant of artists than I am genres. So I only really follow a few artists from every genre, Metal included. But I'm still more likely to listen to a completely random Metal band and enjoy it.

For the most part, I prefer heavy metal. But I'll listen to just about anything if it's written well. Like this:

Or this:

Or this:

So, ummm... yeah.

I'm not a particularly big fan, but I do like me some metal. Not everything mind you. I tend do dislike songs
with grunted or screamed vocals and tunings so low they're a full octave below standard tuning (lower =/= heavier), but there are exceptions.

I believe there is no such thing as a bad genre of music. There are only bad artists and bad songs. Try hard and long enough and you should find something in any genre that is to your liking, even if it is a single song. I stand by the idea that you should sample as many genres and styles as you can. The more musical experience, the better you can define for yourself what you like or don't like.

Of course, there will always be immature elitists who exclusively listen to metal or any other genre. Let them, and while they're narrow-mindedly occupied with their tiny musical universe, we'll listen to all the bitchin tunes we can handle, and they'll miss out.

I can listen to anything, whether it be Dubstep, rap, or metal, it's all just music to me, and I love it. The only thing I can't stand is opera.

Once I listened to metal long enough it became the only thing I wanted to listen to. I wouldn't say I hate other genres (save a few that revolt me); more that there is no reason for me to listen to them if I have metal available. For instance, I used to be the biggest damn southern rock fan ever. Enter metal. Now when molly hatchet comes on the radio (if i'm even listening to the radio and not metal on my ipod or something), nine times out of ten i'll change it in the hopes that there is something heavier on.

hell yes; why would i be so stupid as to limit myself to so much different music? almost every genre (except for mainstream pop, if you want to call it a genre) has its raison d'être, and can serve different moods on different times.

people who are so "true" that they only listen to metal (most likely korn and slipknot and... not so good bands like that :p ) are just as big morons as any other person who only listens to ONE genre because... well just because.

Anything from Classic music to rap and metal with anything but total dying pig scream singers... if the song has good guitar riffs or melodies i will overlook horrible singer.

Blues, old rock, jazz well except the most complex styles since they go way over me head.
pretty much anything.

And my favorite piece of music and excelent show
I FLUNKING LOVE RIVERDANCE MUSIC AND SHOWS pity that i havent gotten chance to see one live sigh.
I grew up with sound track of this and after seeing the skill dancers tap and make rythm.
it is perfect
*starts humming the violing tune*

And the rythm

As a metal head, I love metal and all its nuances, both great and minor. But being an open-minded metal head I also enjoy other genres of music such as jazz, classical, and even electronic.
But some of my friends who are also metal heads wouldn't give the time of day to any musical genre without super low tuned guitars, fast double-bass drumming at ridiculous BPM's, barely audible bass guitar, and singers whose lyrics wouldn't be very noteworthy if they were even intelligible.
