No. I used to drink (not to excess) fairly regularly, but I've just... stopped.

I do enjoy the odd beer/wine/spirit, but as I do tend to drive most places I prefer to keep sober in case I need to go anywhere.

(Wow, don't I sound like a bucket of fun(!))

Rarely. I've never been completely black-out drunk, but I have been within shouting distance of it.

No. Every alcoholic beverage I've tried is yucky.
People keep telling me to try X because it tastes just like Y, but if it tastes just like Y I might as well go drink Y and keep my liver.
The smartest thing I've heard (read)all time regarding alcohol.

OT: Never drank, never drink, never going to drink. I find no purpose in it, it's against my religion and it's poison.

I drink far too much as many Escapians will tell you. But I don't judge people for not drinking. But don't judge me for drinking.

I hate those who judge something without trying it.

You have to get drunk atleast once before you condemn it. I'd suggest 2-3 times because it's rearely the same.
To be fair though, you can base a desire not to drink just on how you see people act who do. Or the health Risks. While I agree that saying 'I don't like the taste of alcohol' without trying it would be silly, you can not like its other effects without having gone through them.

Drink it and love it!

I don't drink to get drunk though, I drink because I love what I'm drinking... doing it any other way isn't fun or productive.

I had my first stubby with a meal at like 11 at xmas. I've been drinking "unsupervised", IE my mum knew but let me have my space for the learning experience, since 15. And been going to clubs since 17. My parents philosophy has always been that preventing us from doing something will just make us more likely to over do it when we no longer need permission.

There is no reason why drinking has to be an unpleasant experience. It is to a large extent demonised, especially as a teen/young adult due to those who do it irresponsibly.

Now Im not going to lie. You going to drink too much. It happens. And to start with it probably happens too much. I remember the first time my brother mate brought round a bottle of vodka (that age 15 thing :p ) I spent 2 hours throwing up. : / Not fun. Make sure your with some friend for when you inevitably over do it.

That said once you learn you limits and know how too maintain that happy tipsy feel its just a good laugh. I sure as hell wouldn't condemn it without trying it a few times. If you can honestly say after a few nights out, where you haven't gone overboard, that alcohol does nothing for you, fair enough. But I know of only one person who continues to be tee-total, and his objection is that alcohol tastes crap, not with the affect.

Every now and then, most recently this Friday. Almost exclusively at parties though, I very rarely drink alone. When I do it's usually a nice white wine to try and relax after a busy week.

Sure I do. Relatively responsibly too, if I may add.

The drinking culture over here is the reason (Central Norway). Almost everyone drink from the age of 15, despite the legal age is 18 for beers and 20 for liqours.

It's fun as long as you don't overdo it. It loosens you up, socializing is easier and stress just flies out of the window. Plus, to an aquired pallet, beer tastes absolutely phenomenal.

No I quit when my fifth of vodka per day habit got me a DUI. Thankfully I never hurt anyone and it didn't destroy my marriage before I quit and my kids were too young to remember their drunk ass worthless dad. Alcohol is fine if you can keep it responsible. I couldn't and so I am very thankful that I was able to give it up 6 years ago.

Not to get preachy, but if you think you might have a problem, then you probably do. If people in your life think you might have a problem, then you probably do. Get help if you need it. There are lots of places to turn and you can do it.

I usually drink in the weekends and the amount varies. If I just want to relax and play some pool then I'll stop at two. If we decide we're going to get drunk as fuck the in the spirit if conserving money we just order cheap vodka OR just order some crap with apparently 80% alcohol in it. One sip of that baby and you're guaranteed to not be walking home.

I just like to keep sober as being drunk doesn't seem to be good phyicaly or mentally.
I said that once. I also said I would wait until marriage, never talk on a cell phone while driving, etc. I would recommend at least trying it(when you are of age). Keep in mind there is a difference between drinking till you black out and drinking for the buzz.

Rarely. It's not that I mind it or that I'm not allowed, It's just that I rarely get the opportunity to. I tend to stick with only a few friends and the ones I hang with aren't very frequent drinkers. So either I wait for an opportunity or I go out drinking by myself, which really isn't an option ^^

I drink pretty frequently, although it's very rare that my intention is to get drunk or even buzzed. I drink because I love beer. I love tasting different kinds, brewing my own, and getting others out of the "beer is a party drink" mentality.

Liquor, not so much. While I do enjoy the occasional mixed drink and maybe a maker's mark on the rocks I generally stay away from liquors.

Really, alcohol is just another drink to me, I'll order it and drink it at home as if I was picking up a can or coke or a bottle of iced tea.

Also, I disapprove of people drinking solely for the purpose of getting drunk.

This is always fun. The straight edge kids come out with the "I don't like the feeling of not being in control, and anyone who does is a STUPID FUCKING COWARD ALCOHOLIC WHO RUNS AWAY FROM REALITY!" Then the partiers come in and say "Chill the fuck out dude, Let people do what the fuck the want. It's our bodies, and if we want to have fun that's our choice. Your a ***** for hatin' something you haven't tried"

Because no matter what your viewpoint, YOU ARE RIGHT. ALWAYS. Those who disagree are just So stupid right?

Tribalism ftw.

And yeah, I get drunk occasionally. Only Think I really have liked the taste of is Captain Jack's spiced rum, and Jameson. Although I assume I'll find more I like once I can buy the shit though.
