A few years ago a lot of McDonalds food issues were exposed through the documentary Supersize Me. After that McDonalds took a huge hit in business, but since then they've slowly recovered. So. do you still eat it?

As for me, I stopped eating it maybe 8 eight years ago but if I'm in a foreign country I will occasionally still eat fries or an apple pie because I know what I'm getting. (I swore off their 'meat' for life).

I question that Supersized me made a dent in McDonalds sales.
Since the entire documentary was a moron proving that eating 3 meals a day at MCD's would make you fat.

I certainly didn't see him exercising enough or keeping to 2000 calories a day. Or ordering many salads... so the end of him becoming a fat pig was no surprise.

As for me,I normally avoid their food, burger king is better tasting but just how greasy that food is...I pretty much eat turkey burgers. Half the calories and a fourth the fat.

They're fries are tolerable, the chicken is questionable and the "burgers" are unacceptable. The most I'd buy from McDonald's is some fries and a soda.

yes. Because they are cheap, convenient, decent tasting, and generally clean.
And their quality has gone up in the last few years actually.
Just letting you know, McDonald's is an environmentally devastating company. They clear-cut rainforests to grow grass to raise their beef, that's why their burgers are so cheap. McDonald's hurts wildlife so that their beef is accessible to all. That's why their beef is so cheap and that's why it tastes the way it tastes: it is frozen and shipped to the US from poorer South American countries. Just trying to let everyone know so that they're informed.

I keep kosher, so no. But I doubt I'd eat there if I didn't. Too many better options out there.

Their fries are delicious; however, I have discovered a local burger joint that does even the fries better.

Don't think I haven't been tempted, though. If I had steady employment, I'd probably be eating there more.

Eh, I don't really eat fast food if I can help it, but I'm not one to turn down an offer of a chicken sandwich. Just don't try to hand me a McDonald's burger. There's just something... heavy... about the beef they use. Settles in the pit of my stomach like a lead weight.

I'm not looking through 7 pages to get to check, so I'm sorry if this has already been posted.

Super Sized Fast Food Phobia [http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4088]: by Brian Dunning

Basically, it seems that that documentary used bad science (that could not be replicated) to draw too broad a conclusion about fast food. Other, better studies have since overturned his conclusions. As always, the danger comes from over-eating, not the fast food itself. That's about as good as any other kind of food you're likely to buy, and it's not the deciding factor in childhood obesity or anything like that. I think people overestimate the harm in fast food.

I literally have McDonalds maybe once or twice a year. My body usually can't handle fast food very well, so I don't have it all that often.

<youtube=rB_8tQDGyFA>

Seriously though, their burgers are so tiny that its really not worth it. Mini-macs.

Burger King FTW

As a kid I loved them. Now everything on their menu makes me sick after a few hours of eating there. So I don't go there on my own anymore.

Occasionally I'll go if someone is treating me but I'd rather not spend my money on food I know is bad for me in the long term as well as in the short term.

gotta love those $1 drinks
I do take advantage of this though. Why pick up a pop/iced tea at a convenience store when you can quickly grab a cheap drink at Mc. Donalds?

Yes, but only cheeseburgers, and only if I'm really short on time, and there is a McDonalds nearby.

About once a year I have to go there. Or BK, doesn't matter. Two reasons:

1) To remind myself I don't like it.

2) Sometimes you just need a Big Mac. Maybe it comes from subconscious masochism, the desire to hurt oneself in small ways. I can think of no rational explanation.

Come to think of it, a Five Guys just opened near me, first one within 100 miles (I live in the far northeast, a lot of stuff we don't have here). I should really check it out, see if it's as good as people say.
