i prefer medium length. dont give much a crap though. short hair can be awesome, but i know some women with short hair now and i thought they looked better with long hair. i hate really long hair though, it gets annoying.

A lot of women can't really pull it off, however those that can I have a massive thing for (and no that's not intended as an innuendo), I mean just daymn! See Hannah Spearritt as Abby in Primeval, now she can pull it off! Amanda Tapping as Sam in SG1 is a more obvious example.

Usually I'm not a fan of short hair, but I think that has more to do with the type of women that can pull it off. I've seen some women who do it and it works surprisingly well, and it ends up being a style I can't imagine them not having, but then most of the time I see women who perhaps are simply trying it and it really doesn't work on them. As someone pointed out, it seems brunettes or those with black hair can pull off short hair better than other colors.

Then again this could be said for every hair style, and the same systems would still apply. However, I want to say I've seen more "bad" short hair styles than I have long ones as of late.

It's all about style over substance with hair.

I don't care how much or little hair a girl has, as long as I find it pretty.

Personal favourites include long and curly (like Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow) and punk girl mohawks (like comicbookgirl19 - look it up on youtube).

What I tend to really dislike is girls with number 3 or 4 tom-boy hair (like Faridah Malik from Deus EX HR).

I've never thought about it before really, but I can honestly say I'm impartial to short/long hair on women. And I say this as a straight male.

One thing I do pay attention to is a womens fringe, but that's just my personal weirdness.

I really dislike Pixie cuts. I'm not sure why, I don't like the way they look and you have to look a certain way to pull it off.
I can't have one because my face is far too round and I'd look stupid. I like mine shorter because it's so thick it gets frizzy and knotty easily. Longer than a Pixie cut and layered looks really nice.

My friend has had short boyish hair for years and she looks HORRIBLE. I don't have the heart to tell her and shouldn't really because it's her hair but she looks like she's in her mid-40s! Her face is far too full and round for it to look good. I hope she starts to grow it out again because she's very pretty but the hair lets her down.

I wanted to weep when Anne Hathaway and Emma Watson cut their hairs, I don't think it suited them at all.

As long as it looks good & fits the person I don't care one way or the other.

I knew a girl in high school that had long beautiful hair til she cut it our senior year, when she asked me if I liked it I asked her if she had lost a bet. Short curly hair did not look good on her at all, made her look a whole hell of a lot older than 18.

Well I am usually more attracted to girls that have short hair. Before I knew it, most of my girlfriends from the past had short hair. Basically date just about any girl that is average looking.

I think so long as the girl looks good with the hairstyle I'm completely fine with it. I prefer hair to at least be a little longer than the highlighted pixie cut, but there you go.

Speaking as a male with long hair, I am completely not biased, I swear.

I routinely cut my hair short in the late Spring, early Summer. I mean really short. Fuck, if I had the guts I'd shave it all off. I then let it grow out during Autumn and Winter to repeat the cycle once May/June comes around again.

Whether it's attractive or not? Probably not really, but I don't give a damn. I don't handle heat very well and short hair is lovely and cooling.

Do what you want with your hair is my opinion. If that includes making sure it attracts a certain type of person, sure. Personally, I've found both long-haired and short-haired men attractive, and there a few women out there with various lengths of hair I could almost see myself going bi for for a split second - although truth be told they tend to be short-haired more often than not, lol.

In most cases I'd prefer short-ish hair, but I still like a long-haired girl. I'm sure many people like me (and including me) were very happy when we saw Bayonetta's new hair-style.

It's not really a deal-breaker to me, but I do find longer hair on women attractive. And yes, I know that it's a pain in the ass to actually have long hair; hell, I can't stand having my own hair longer than a couple of inches any more, I always buzz it. But I can't really help what I find attractive, can I?

I think a vast majority of women look best with long hair. I've got hair down to my waist myself.
Wouldn't dismiss a women as unattractive just because she has short hair, but I can't remember ever seeing a woman with hair shorter than to her shoulders that I was intrested in.

Personally I like my girls either to have pretty short hair or really long hair.

Generally speaking I like short hair better. As long as it isn't shaved or buzzed I'm cool with any degree of shortness.
As long as the color is a black, dark brown or deep red.
Me and blonde hair don't mix well.

This.
Well, my hair is long again now but I cut it all off and dyed it red/brown a few years ago and I'm glad I did. Looking back, it looked awful on me but I think it's a great thing to do at least once to see how you like it.
I kept it very, very short for ages and then, as always, I got bored so now I'm aiming for really long hair. It's down to my bra backstrap now but I want it to grow to the small of my back. Then again, I may feel like a change before it gets to that.

I realise this is a total tangent about my hair.

I actually love short hair on women. Prefer it, in fact.

Not that it's any big deal either way. I'd be quick to date a girl with hair of any length if I liked her enough.

You're shocked that women use homophobic slurs? Holy shit, where do you live? Are there any cheap houses for rent?
A woman I'm hanging out with, yes. NYC. And no, the home market here is gouged into absurdity.

Really, I thought they looked great. Of course AHaths had to grow it out from that uneven buzz she had in lesmis, but she looked hot at the awards shows. The only thing that really curled my toes about those two (and I saw them both do this) is when they slicked it to the side like Hitler. Who started that horrific trend and have they been stopped yet? Before they bring back the Mao look.

Yes, that's kind of what this thread is for.
This is basically what my wife does too. She grows it out a bit then she wants it short for a little while (usually during the summer) and then she grows it out in the winter. It's an interesting cycle she has and it's cool to see that other women do the same.
Personally, I prefer her in the shorter cuts rather than the longer ones but it's fun to have a wife that changes things up. It's like I'm cheating but I'm not.

I just realized, I dislike hair ...

I think it's weird when people say "I love my hair" or "my hair does this and this and wont do this and it's like this in these circumstances". I think men look like hobos with beards, porn stars with 'taches and a bit douche with goatees and I think girls with VERY short hair are very attractive (gotta suit though).

Barring the dress 'cos it looks like it was found in the alley after prom, I think she looks awesome.

Jack from Mass effect 3 looks awesome as well, ME2 I could go either way on.

I like people who don't look typical, just about every girl has long flowing hair that they spend HOURS straightening, coloring, bleaching, high lighting, low lighting, cutting and styling, which looks fine but it's so boring and common to look at. I do like brightly coloured hair, again 'cos it's different than the norm.

Guys with long hair weird me out, where I am from lads have shaved heads ... maybe an inch long at the most, to see all these guys with long hair (even my brother has long hair) are just like "WTF", shave it! Talking to you metal heads! (take it as a joke people!)

Firstly, I'd argue that's not a 3 or 4 length.

Second, is there a huge difference in length between the two?

Generally speaking, I prefer women with shorter hair. However, it all depends on the person if they can pull the look off.
