I hate that IW removed Dedicated servers and any ability to mod it (enabling them, effectively, to charge us with overpriced maps we probably would've gotten for free from a nice modder). Seriously, $15 for five maps, two of which we could play in CoD4?
I also have gripes with the amount of plot-holes present in the single player. I really don't want to go into that again (it's posted somewhere else on this forum).
Also, the spawning system has forced me to swear at my computer in frustration several times. I've lost count of the times I've been gunned/knifed down, only to respawn right in front of my assailant to get pwned again. /endrant

I enjoyed the campaign, and continue to enjoy playing on Live. Sure, some people piss me off, but then I get on my n00b tube class and piss them off back.

First thought: The hell is Karachi?


An personally I think it's crap. I don't hate it because it came from Activision (hey, I used to love Activision) but because it's a step backwards. It's inferior in everything to the first Modern Warfare, and fail quite spectacularly in many aspects.

- The plot is absurd
- The gameplay went from "semi-realistic" to "counter strike" (seriously, dual wielding shotguns and SMGs?)
- Balance went out the door... Somewhat. Everything kills you with a couple of bullets so it's more an exercise in luck ("hey, you happened to respawn behind me! I'm dead!") and camping than actual aim and strategic thinking... But even so, they managed to somehow fuck up balance... Dual wielding shotguns are a 1 hit kill so it's just BOOM, dead... The Vector with rapid fire and the AA-12 don't one hit kill, but might as well, since they mows everything down in a wink anyways.
- The maps are the size of a cardboard box.
- Some perks are absurdly game breaking.
- The very concept of killstreak rewards is idiotic...
- No dedicated servers kills multiplayer.
- Inflated price.
Etc.

The game is just... Bad. It's inferior in everything to the original MW, and not even in the same league as BC2, which I loooove.

Either ways, there has been what? A thousand threads like this already? Search is good.

I hate it because it's so totally and utterly average. The story is ridiculous, especially compared to the relative subtlety of the first, the game is bereft of actual memorable moments, unlike the first, which averaged one a mission, so they just pilfer them off the first. The gameplay is pretty much the same, but the situations you're put in are a lot more contrived.

Plus, the game is 10 quid dearer than other games which provide much longer singleplayer and more varied multiplayer. On that note, the singleplayer is almost totally negated in favour of the multiplayer, which is horrible for people who don't play Multiplayer like me. Speaking of the multiplayer, from the little I've played of it, it's horribly unbalanced, and full of some of the most idiotic people I've seen on any game since Halo. Not to mention the way it utterly shafted the PC.

And it's the best selling game ever made. Dear lord.

I agree. With the exception of gameplay. It isn't the same, it's dumbed down, made too simple and less tactical.

The multiplayer is the worst pile of crap released in years. The lack of dedicated servers has turned it into a lagging, crash-prone hackfest full of cheaters.

Simple: They fucked the PC version by not having dedicated server support and all the other things they stripped from CoD 4.

I don't particularly like MW2 because it's another nail in the coffin of single-player games in favour of screaming tweenage boys and their hopping, grenade-chugging alter egos.

I like it. Sure it has flaws, but if you just look past that and see what it does right, then you can just sit back and have a good time.

And yes, I know somebody will quote me saying "What good features hur hur durp durp".

But yeah, Karachi fuckin' sucks.

I liked the game, but I dislike the SP length and the changes that it may produce for the PC industry as a whole. All in all the changes it introduces would have been added in some game or another anyways.. Would have liked LAN capability on it...

it is a cool game but definitely not THE shooter i was waiting for. oh well, my last pc shooter was far cry so this game felt pretty new to me XD
the sp was damn awesome, i actually liked the plot. the multiplayer has decent gameplay but it could be much better

i usually play hardcore matches and almost never have trouble with bad comunity.

but... That IS the game...

the short story length, plot holes, and short game play time. That is the game to most people. Not everyone buys a game to veg out on the multiplayer.

you should have expected that the multiplayer would be the main part of the game. the sp is kind of a nice extra (bit exaggerated but you get the point)

I only played the singleplayer kampaign cause frankly i'm too bad in MP shooters xD
but for what the story was, it was fun to play, it was short enough to wrap neatly around my schedule, all in all i had my fair share of fun. Just what i need when i play a game.
