I like Germany, their nation is rich in culture and history. Also, some of my ancestors came to America from Germany, hence why I have a German last name.

[HEADING=3]Fuck no.[/HEADING]

This is the country that single-handedly started the bloodiest war in the history of mankind and used the opportunity to commit atrocities that were so unimaginable that people had to see them with their own eyes to believe it.

And now they're one of the richest countries on the planet.

But hey! This was a long time ago and it was the Nazis who were dicks not Germans, right?

Wrong.

Hitler was a democratically elected leader and had massive public support. Also it wasn't that long ago, NSDAP members are still alive and make up a large portion of Germans. And I don't fucking buy this bullshit that they all abandoned their ideology the second Hitler was dead and now are very sorry and ashamed. I bet my ass that a large portion of them passed their beliefs onto the next generations, of course noone will admitt it.

Seriously, each time I see a retired German couple old enough to wave Swastika flags at parades driving their shiny new Audi limousine down the streets of my city which they helped raise to the ground I want to throw a fucking brick trough their windshield

Also Berlin is a sad city of sorry-ass people who have no idea how to have fun. And don't even get me started on German concert audience.
XD

Please, post more of this, I haven't had a good laugh as good like this in days :D

Seriously, in case you are not trolling and are really convinced that your statement is true, come to Germany, walk up to a policeman, raise your right arm and shout "Heil Hitler" as loud and comprehensible as you can.
I dare you :)

By the way, historical facts are your friends, not your enemies. You don't have to break and bend them like this.

OT: It's my fatherland, of course I love it.
But the loss of identity and self-confidence is crippling the nation. Don't get me wrong, it's still a very nice place to live, one of the best places on earth since it has a pretty high standard of living, but it's not really the country it used to be.

The lousy democracy has done it's share in degenerating it, and the psychosocial developments that were caused by the measures (demilitarisation, democratisation, decentralisation, etc) taken just made the situation worse.
Political correctness, and movements that are similarly filled with bullshit, really got out of hand, and certain hostile elements, from the out- and inside alike, became even more shameless.

Metaphorically, an eagle with broken wings, a toothless lion, a shadow of it's past self.
Quite pathetic at times, but there is definitely potential for new strength.
It has faced worse problems in the past, but "yesterday" Germany was at least (mostly, since Hitler was a quite cunning, traitorous deceiver here) aware of the dangers and problems it was facing.

Nowadays it's being corroded by things like mindless multi-culturalism, liberalism and other shit, without being aware of it, or even worse: without minding the corrosion and considering it "good". Twisted hypocrisy.

Let's see if this part of humanity can overcome the "age of decay and democracy".

It's a bit stupid to say that you either like or hate all Germans if you haven't met them all. All germans arent the same after all. I'm sure I'll like some germans, and hate others, just like any country.

I laughed so hard at this, I almost fell out of my chair.
How is it that a Swede even knows that exact expression, and in dialect no less? xD

I dunno...I've only been there once on a history trip and I had fun but I don't have any strong feelings either way towards them.

I just took a trip to berlin tw weeks ago, amazing place. Loads of great things to see, amazing Beer and awesome food too. That's not to mention the history contained within the place, if anyone was planing on going themselves I'd suggest heading to victory column in the centre of Tiergarten and having a look for the bullet holes.

Once I finally got sleep after being up for 24 straight hours, I realise that my German here was way off.
Please move on. Nothing to see here >.<

Rammstein. That band alone makes me love Germany. I also want to visit there at some point and learn the language a bit.

The only gripe is a lack of queues/lines. Apparently (according to Germans I know and people who've visited) there's no such thing. It's more like a bar, where you all just stand as close to the serving area as possible and it's a sort of charisma check as to who get's served first.

Otherwise, you're pretty much awesome, your cars are brilliant, you're bloody efficient, and not nearly as rude as people say you are. (In fact working in hospitality, the Germans were nicer than the Brits, who're supposed to be polite. It's probably because they thought I was a convict.)

I am German, so...eh, I guess it's okay. We seriously need to do something about our censorship laws, however. And your education system. And about left-wing extremist groups.
